Neighbor fucked with my phone and I had to hard reset it. I may have saved a public key but I can't decrypt a message from a website. Is there any way to fix this?

I'm experimenting with kleopatra.
But it outputs to a machine-readable format.
This isn't useful for, say, sending text files.
Is there a usable gui for ubuntu that I can use to encrypt and decrypt messages, and that can output encrypted messages in ascii format?
When I encrypt text with Kleopatra on PC, I cannot decrypt it with OpenKeychain on Android and PGPro on iOS. But when I encrypt with OpenKeychain and PGPro, I can decrypt it with Kleopatra. I am sure I checked "Encrypt for myself" every time I encrypt. What is the problem?
By the way, the texts I encrypted with openkeychain and PGpro can be decrypted successfully on all three platforms. It seems that Kleopatra is incompatible with the other two?
Thank you!
when I create a certificate it doesn't save the certificate name in the page with all the other certificates when I restart kleopatra
Seriously though, I’ve only met one other person face to face that likes GPG. This person showed me GPG. I guess I’m finally home!
Hey guys long story short my computer with my keys on it died yesterday. I managed to get a picture of my key before it shut off forever. Was frozen so couldn't export.
I have spent hours typing it out exactly the way it should be but still can't import it to kleopatra. Is there a special font I have to use or something? Happy to pay for your time if you know how I can resolve this. Thanks
I'm trying to paste my public key into a site named nex--. I'm on win11 pro using kleopatra. I saved my key and opened it in notepad. I get the feeling that notepad is saving some type of ghost chars to my clipboard, because it never saves right. Is there a way to open/view my public key inside of kleopatra so I can copy it directly from the app?

Hey Reddit!
I’m excited to share that we’ve just launched an extension for the Mac Mail app that makes sending encrypted emails easier than ever! 🎉
With privacy being more important than ever, this tool helps you secure your communications without any hassle. We’ve put together a quick video tutorial to help you get started.
If you’re interested, check out the video and learn more at https://macmailpgp.com. We’d love to hear your feedback!
Stay safe and secure,
Ive come back to using kleopatra after a while and all the tutorials i see have a notepad button on the right of the menu tabs. All i see on my app is "clipboard" but no notepad. Am i using a wrong version or are the tutorials just outdated?
Does anyone know how to encrypt messages on there? Like i see the encrypt message part, but i cant add the recipient? Like ive tried searching for keys, with their ID and nothing can be found? Please help(:
I am new to using kleopatra I was wondering if someone can post their public PgP public key and let me send them a message to make sure I'm doing it correctly. The other day I did it with someone and they claimed it didn't work. Any help would be great thanks!
Hi gang,
When it comes to encryption I have always wondered how recipients of a public key, encrypted message, get the private key to begin with. If you are using a pgp service there must still be a bottleneck somewhere where the private key is being created and then shipped to the recipient. I am familiar with man in the middle attacks and so forth, but to me it would seem the source of the private key creation and the handshake that server has with a recipient is the ultimate prize. Even sha-256, sha-512 and so forth seems like in due time will become obsolete if it has not already just on brute force attacks alone. I am curious about how viable these encryption methods are long term, but my main question is how safe are private key handshakes really? To me it just seems nothing is unbreakable, and where there's a will there's a way, but explained technicalities on bottlenecks would be great.
Thanks
