We're GCU and we're awesome.
Hey! Welcome to the Glasgow Caledonian University subreddit. As the name of this subreddit would suggest this is a place for all GCU current students, prospective students and alumni. And anyone who wants to join in the chat.
What can you discuss here? Anything GCU related from societies, campus news, the Arc, GCUSA and anything else you're happy with/find piss annoying.
New to Glasgow?

Hi. I have secured a spot in jan intake and my course required an ATAS certificate, However I obtained that certificate. I have a question that how strict GCU is regarding ATAS? I mean my personal and course details are accurate, my modules titles are correct, only one discrepancy in one module "Code". Will it be an issue?
Hey all,
My partner is graduating from the MSc OT program in 2 weeks and was wondering if we could get some extra tickets? The Uni said they wouldn't issue any more, so we are looking to see if anyone is willing to sell theirs? Any help would be appreciated.

Hello all!
I am writing this in regards to my wife's application for a Masters program starting in Jan 2022. We have been waiting a while (submitted in Nov of last year) and as of this week her documents now show as "accepted" instead of "submitted." She still is listed as "awaiting decision" for her application status. I wanted to know if the new update for her documents status was substantial or not. She will be an international student so any extra time we have to plan the move would be helpful. Anyone have any insight?
I’m in S5 and currently sitting two highers because I didn’t want to sit any more because I thought I wasn’t coming back, but now I wish to go to uni to study civil engineering and in S6 I’m going to be sitting Higher Chemistry, Higher English, Higher Math, Higher Physics, FA Civil Engineering. My question is, because I don’t have any advanced highers will this put me at a disadvantage?
Hey... would love to meet people in cali... especially ladies. I am a on my Phd journey at cali
Hiya,
I would really appreciate if you could complete my survey please.
Hiya, I'm interested in doing undergrad at GCU (2021/25), however the problem is that I can't find entry requirements for international students (Slovakia). In my last year of secondary school we finish with maturita (something like A levels) and so far I have predicted grades 1 (the highest) in Biology and Chemistry + already obtained 1s in English and Slovak. I've noticed that the course I'm having my eye on is closely related to physics, so I was wondering whether I need to take physics as an extra subject for my maturita exam. Do you know anyone from Slovakia who's studying or had studied this course? I've already sent an enquire to the uni, but I'm not sure when they'll find the time to reply and I'm already kinda stressed about it. Thanks in advance.

Hiii I am currently looking for international students studying in Scotland to participate in my MSc dissertation research about international students' understandings of mental health, help-seeking behaviours, and how well they have adapted to Scottish culture. We are hoping to publish the findings so to improve mental health services at universities across Scotland for international students by making them more easily accessible for them. The questionnaire link is below, and it should take around 15 minutes and is completely anonymous:

Hello. Is it possible for someone to walk in and use the library in the evening at GCU without being a student there?
Thanks
Hey I'm a journalism student at RGU in Aberdeen and I'm doing a piece about essay writing services . I'm hoping to talk to someone who'd used a service or worked for one. I want to hear about your experience, horror stories, why you did it and if you got caught. Unless you're comfortable with me using your name I will keep you anonymous. So if you're interested message me.
Hi,
Former GCU student here. I have an exam through my work and was planning on using the library to study. Does the wifi require your student details to log in?
Hey, I’m a fourth year Cyber Security Student looking for volunteers for my honours project.
Participants need to be GCU students between 18/25 with active social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter and/or Instagram.
My honours project covers four separate experiments which you can opt to take part in one or all, depending on your preference! They’re all passive, you don’t need to do anything except give me permission and your Social Media handles.
Please DM me here if you’re interested and I’ll be in touch!

Hey! I'm thinking about applying to GCU for next academic year. I am from EU country and I'm classified as a mature student. I want to study psychology as it's relevant to my job and interests. I'm working with youth and adolescence offenders, and in mental health service, mostly high-risk suicidal patients. Could you tell me anything about Applied Psychology course? Are you satisfied or it could be better?
I feel like I'm always on the toilet for five minutes before one of those cleaners knocks on the door and shouts "is there anybody in?". Very annoying! And why on earth would they insist on cleaning the campus life lounge toilets at 8.50am, when many people want to use it before 9am classes. They should clean them less, at better times, and should make public the times they want to clean. Thoughts?
I visited Scotland for a few weeks and have friends there, I love the entire country. I want to move there! Any tips, tricks, hints, advice is welcome! I don't have a degree or trade, I am unmarried. I am interested in going to school there (not study abroad as it's roughly $20,000 a semester) but student loans cap at $9500 which would leave me 4000 pounds short on tuition PLUS the living costs you have to have saved to show for the visa approval. If that makes any sense. Know of anyone who wants to marry an American gal, or of companies willing to do a work sponsor, or charities that will do a charity work sponsor.. Please help! :)
Hey there! My sister is looking into coming to Glasgow from Canada for an exchange, and she can't find any info on textbook costs. About how much do you guys spend on books per year? Thanks for your help!
Is there any microwave available for me, a student, to heat my food?
I've got to do a poster presentation (A1 size) for my Honours project at the end of the exam period and need to find a printers to print it off. I know the Saltire Centre do A1 size printing but they need a week's notice, so does anyone have any suggestions for an alternative place to print? Thanks!
Does it make a difference in GCU?

Just FYI. Surprised by how early they've gone up this year actually.
