Im absolutely starved for Gintama content and was wondering if theres any actually decent Gintama games on PC? I know theres that one Musou game for PS4 but it aint on PC.
I know the new Anime is coming out next year but yeah.
Ichigo giuniu is the best. Just had some for dinner and now i feel like I understand him. I also like sweet things.
looking for an episode of gintama: the only thing I can remember is a small section which gintoki turns into a harem protagonist (parody perhaps) its not an arc or anything just a single episode i wanna say? and it was an early episode of gintama probably less than 100 im guessing. his personality was kinda meek you know how harem protagonists are, i think it talked about childhood friends trope in harem. does that sound familiar to anybody? 😂 again the bit i mentioned at the start, it was only a small gag out of the episode, and I dont remember anything else in the episode.
edit: the small gag reminded me of omamori himari (please google the anime if you dont know) gintoki riding a bike, probably wearing a school uniform, recall him being in a bedroom/bathroom at one point (possibly looking into a mirror?)
edit 2: its episode 135 thanks yall!!
I told myself “I don’t remember anything that would wrench my heart from the shogun assassination arc” till I rewatched this scene.
I even forgot gin’s flashbacks :(
I finished the final a few months ago and I really need something to fill the void of gintama. Are there any other shonen that are mainly comedy but sometimes go to emotional moments and intense action?
Hey Gintama fans, most of you probably know that famous asmv of the Shogun assassination arc that got deleted from YouTube. If anyone had the chance to download it and still has it, please send it to me, I need it 🙏 I absolutely loved that video 🥲
Drop ur fav zura scenes here
The title pretty much explains it all but I was just wondering if there are any roblox games with gintama in it as I am a big fan.
As I have been rewatching Gintama a lot recently, I keep coming to the same conclusion that Kamui is such an interesting and complex character with good character development that definitely needed and deserved way more screentime than he already had been given overall.
I'd like to provide this post with the broadest analysis on his character, personality and his whole story (with some headcanons). So where should I start?
Personality and identity: Kamui is usually described as a psychopatic killer who just wanted to become stronger and, on the other hand, a "momma's boy". For me, if thinking deeply, he is more than all these things, he's more like a family guy who just wanted his family to live together happily. The reason as to why he's been walking on the wrong path is not only due to the severe childhood trauma he had received during his childhood linking to Kouka's death as well as his inability to protect and save her and his family, but also, according to my headcanon, it was Housen's brutal Yato nature-based "upbringing"/impact on Kamui, his mentality and the way of life later on, given the fact that we all know Housen was the literal Yato devil and Kamui was his apprentice sadly and he grew among the Harusame. That cheerful smile he's always been caring was just a mask to hide his true pain and sadness accumulated inside. Another possible fact would be that he is quite a tsundere to say the least, he acted brutally on the outside towards Kagura but later it was revealed that he deeply cared and loved his little sister and even father. Most of us didn't like how he acted typically Yato-like for the most part but logically speaking, the reasons as to why he had become like this are clear: he was a Yato with a broken psyche, which sounds extremely dangerous, don't you think?
Yato nature: Yato are famous for killing, brutally fighting, bloodlust based on their pure instinct. However, they can also express feelings.....through fighting. If you think about it, by our human standards, their nature and the way of life are incredibly insane, yet it's perfectly normal for them and it's not so easy for them to control their Yato instincts (of course, Kagura is the main exception thanks to the partial assimilation with her Earth family).
Backstory (criticism included): Everything started when Umibozu and Kouka accidentally met on a deserted planet, which eventually lead to their romance and then the birth of Kamui and Kagura. Kouka couldn't live anywhere else but Kouan, yet Umibozu "forced" her to come with him. Ultimately they settled on a criminal planet instead of the planet they had been excited to see (Earth). They gave birth to Kamui and Kagura on that gloomy planet full of thugs, Harusame and bullies that would bully the living daylights out of them later everyday. They used to seemingly live a decently happy life before Kouka's health condition started to gradually degrade, which became the starting point for the family drama.
Kamui had it worst: he had to carry all the burdens at a small age, from doing chores to babysitting Kagura and attempting to protect his family while his mom was slowly dying from an "illness". In order to do so, he wanted to learn more about what strength is and become strong only because Umibozu had been constantly telling him to, without any explanations, and he only kept leaving his family for god knows how long. As the strongest Yato in the Universe he couldn't explain his son what strength is? This absurdity only led Kamui to extreme confusion on this subject and eventually had to find out about it on his own. Kouka didn't want Kamui to get involved in any fights at all. So dad told him to become strong (he has to fight to gain experience and feel stronger?) and mom told him not to fight at all? What should and could he do then? Who should he have listened to then? And why on earth did baldy have to headbutt Kamui for having protected himself and Kagura from bullies? That was a really stupid thing to do.
As Kamui was trying to understand what strength is, he started to do the figuring out in his own way. However at one moment he secretly overheard his parents revealing the truth about Kouka's genuine condition and reasons as to why her health was inevitably decaying and there might not be any possibilities to save her anymore. That was the last straw for Kamui's psyche as after all that he gradually started to lose his grip. He was always ready to do everything to preserve his family, hoping there would still be hope to prevent her from dying, but Kouka objected to being saved from death. Kamui was ready to do anything, even stage a crime involving him attempting to "kidnap" his mother in order for the Harusame to acknowledge him as an eventual "villain", therefore allow him to take Kouka back to her planet. Realizing the failure, Kamui finally snapped. As he blamed himself and Umibozu for all the failures, Kamui attacked him. As Abuto stated, "Kamui wanted his dad to punish him" and Kamui wanted to punish his dad too. In the Rakuyou arc, this reason's been officially confirmed. Another sad thing is that Kamui was a victim of Umibozu's way of thinking (especially when it comes to the opinion of "casting aside the importance of them being a family") and he had to copy it as he kept following him on his footsteps, he had no other mentor to follow or be inspired by at all. Then Housen came to his life as another "mentor", while Umibozu was never able to be a good and competent dad. Kamui had no other places to go other than the Harusame, after all, Rakuyou was always crawling with various kinds of criminals and bullies. Kagura and Kamui had to go and live their new separate lives due to this reason after Kouka died. It's clear why Kagura vigorously protested against her dad wanting to take her back to their planet in the Umibozu arc, she definitely knew why.
In Yoshiwara Kamui protected Seita (the little kid) from Housen's female assassins that wanted to capture both of them (and probably kill them as well), and took him to Hinowa, his adoptive mother and encouraged both of them to escape immediately from Housen's grip. It is thanks to him, the significant impact on the further plot of the arc was committed. He saw himself in Seita and atoned for his 'sin' of leaving his family as Housen already guessed.
Speaking about his mom, I don't get Kouka's logic in the story either: first she objected to being saved and preferred staying, but when she almost died, her last words were "we can finally go to Earth together". Like what?
And at the end of the story Kamui had to continue on his path of becoming the strongest as the only thing that he could ever fill his own empty void with.
Not saying Kamui was making the best decisions, but who's here to blame in this whole story? Kamui? I really don't think so.
Relationships with Kagura, Abuto, Umibozu and Gintoki:
Let's say all their mutual relationships have always been complicated yet made logical sense.
Abilities: Aside from being a butt-kicking powerful fighter with great durability and acrobatics, the new age-altering technique via Qigong has been impressing me the most. I mean, who wouldn't want to have such a unique ability only the Yato clansmen can possess? It allows a Yato individual to change their age-based forms: they can become either old men, or little kids. It's been confirmed that the Elder Yato mercenary had been living for hundreds of years thanks to this technique, at least. We've seen Kagura showing us how it works, then, in the manga, there was a small glimpse of Kamui undergoing the same technique in his kid form when he was assisting the rest in the final battle. So, technically speaking, they can at least live for hundreds of years due to their new ability. It's also been revealed that Kamui was the one who tuaght Kagura that technique, but I wonder who taught them both? Master Son, perhaps?
Overall opinion: Consequently, despite him not having had too much screentime, I think he's a pretty amazing yet ambiguous character with lots of complexities, due to which, unfortunately, some viewers aren't destined to understand his character enough.
Also I'm glad to know that in the latest Populaity Poll with over a million votes, he has presumably managed to end up in the top-10 again.
What I've always wished for this character:
- That Kamui would have followed in Kagura's footsteps rather than becoming another blood thirsty Yato monster even though we know the outcome of their story.
- Him being allies with both the Yorozuya and the Shinsengumi would have been a great plot.
- More comedy moments involving him and the main cast.
- More screentime and info on Kamui and Abuto dynamic revealed, both in the past and the future.
- More revelation of the new age-altering technique showcased by the Yato siblings (and maybe Abuto if he's also learned it).
- More Kamui/Kagura/Umibozu teamup moments + comedy involved.
- That he would've fought Utsuro more, showing his full strength and other abilities instead of what's been shown in the actual series.
