Hey everyone! I’m looking for game recommendations for the PS5 that are similar to Fight Night. I know getting licensed fighters is tough, so it doesn’t have to feature real-world boxers or even be strictly about boxing. I’m really into the career mode progression where you start from the bottom and work your way up, leveling up skills, training, and manage coach, cutman, etc contracts.
It could be anything that captures that kind of journey and growth—whether it’s MMA, wrestling, or even something more unique with a similar vibe. Just that I've seen reviews say that Undisputed and UFC don't have a robust career mode.
Thanks for any suggestions!
Howdy there folks, I'm looking for a game to play with my girlfriend as we currently can't meet up as much due to distance. Something where we can recreate our Original Characters as it's a lil thing we like doing in games. Our preference is usually action rpgs we've got quite a few under our belt already including platinum trophies for bloodbourne, dark souls trilogy, elden ring, demon souls remake, red dead online, remnant 1 and 2, dying light, borderlands trilogy, Warframe and space marine 2. We've also tried turn based rpgs like wasteland 3, divinity original sin 2 and baldurs gate 3 so we're not opposed to them but turn based isn't really our preference as we enjoy quicker usually hack and slash gameplay. Also no anime aesthetic games I'm sure there's plenty of good ones but they're just not for us.
Apologies if I narrowed the list down too much gaming is our go to hobby heh.
I wanted to pick something for fun and good combat / atmosphere. Bloodborne is not for me because made me dizzy and nausea for the motion blur and flickering 30fps. I heard there is Dead Island too. Thanks!
It feels like every game, given enough time, evolves into something that is unapproachable for newcomers because the no-life side of the playerbase optimizes the fun out of it, and then the general playerbase either does the same to keep up or quits..
Minecraft has developed a very clear right way to play, and the community simply doesn't care about the creative options offered by new updates unless they are thoroughly utilitarian. Building a buncha auto farms is fine, but most people just pull designs straight from youtube because the game is basically solved, and that's the only way to stay relevant in a server's economy. In Sea of Thieves, all the matchmade fights are the same because winstreaks deter players from trying goofy/risky strategies. They all play the exact same way all the time. Overwatch showed signs of this becoming an issue from the very beginning with how steam-rolly it was.
This applies to even more than just video games. When I DMed my first (and currently last) dnd campaign, we had an insane power gamer join near the end, and he ripped his entire build straight from youtube. While the guy was pleasant, his gameplay made everyone else feel like useless sidekicks (and I lacked the experience to correct that without derailing things). Chess has people who study it to death. Tic tac toe can never be lost or won if both players are competent and experienced.
Is it so much to ask for a game that isn't luck based, advanced enough to have some counter-play, but isn't solvable the way so many others seem to be?
I'm going through a depressive phase and am looking for a game that feels reminicent of the Nintendo NES/GB/GBA era. It shouldn't bei too hard and something persistent. I love platformers, but wouldnt mind a change :) I just need something to busy myself until the pills kick in.
Just finished the main story of AC Origins with a good amount of side exploration (took about 32 hours). Didn't tackle much of the endgame stuff like God fights or DLCs.
In general I really liked the game. The main story was interesting and well presented. It was a bit shorter than I expected (after killing the 4 dudes I though I was at about half point, but there were only a few hours left really), but that wasn't a big issue. The world was really interesting and diverse, Greek places, Egyptian places, deserts, lush Nile delta, mountains, necropolises, even a Roman bit in Libya - the visuals rarely get stale. Side quests were good, too much of them were about "poor Egyptians oppressed by evil Greeks/Romans, help them" and the topic got a bit stale, but still, solid.
The main problem I had with the game was that I'm not a huge fan of ancient Egypt, and I don't know that much about it's history and mythology aside from the basic stuff. Previous AC games I played had a Codex, which would provide quick in-game info on places of interest, historical people, and maybe gods. I REALLY missed this feature here. Yeah there's the Discovery mode, but it's standalone and I'm not going to swap to it if I get confused about a concept. There were way too many times when I was going like "who's this god? what is that place? is this dude real or fictional?" Also, Egyptian names are confusing to keep track of, but that's on me I guess.
Now, I have 2 questions:
As I said before, I got the main story done and a good chunk of side activities too (about 80 finished quests in total iirc). Level 37. Is there any side content that's really good and I shouldn't skip? Maybe some specific side quests or God fights (only heard about those, tried none). From what I've read, Odyssey and Valhalla seem to have better gameplay and more enjoyable settings for me, so I'd rather move on and explore those if there is nothing of note left in Origins.
Origins had a lot of Greek stuff in it, as it portrayed Egypt during Greek occupation of a sort. That's why I'm a bit worried than Odyssey will feel too similar in terms of world looks and feel. Would that be the case or not likely? Valhalla on the other hand seems as different as it can get, with gritty early medieval. After watching Vinland Saga last year and absolutely adoring it, I really want to play a Viking game, and Valhalla seems like one of the best ones. However, I'm wondering if going back to Odyssey after it will feel weird, and if the modern day story gap will hurt (if Odyssey modern day is as much of a joke as it is in Origins, no problem I guess)?
As a separate notion, I'm wondering about side quests in those games. Odyssey is set in a land divided into city states, and I'd expect different states to have different kinds of problems instead of "bad Greeks oppressing good Egyptians in every corner of the map". Does this improve quest variety? I don't particularly care about gameplay variety, but rather situation variety in this case. As for Valhalla, I have a hard time imagining poor English peasants asking a Viking to help them with stuff. Is that actually the case, or is there a bit of a different dynamic there?
Sorry, that's a lot of questions for one post, but I'd really appreciate any answers.
Looking around for games either really dark stories or just while playing/beating will leave me feeling empty with existential dread I’ve played darkwood, To the Moon and I just picked up SOMA as I’ve heard a lot of good things about it.
I want interesting and complex games that allow me to replay them in different ways and choosing different options. I like playing the first play through as good and smart, then as evil, then as dumb, and I like the games that have specific options for every build.
I have already played The Outer Worlds, every Fallout, Baldurs Gate 3 and the Divinity games. What else should I play?
so i loved loved loved frostpunk, and i really want a similar game where you have manage resources, but i wanna play with other people or against other people.
sadly the only games i know of that are similar are rts games like starcraft 2 and games like civilization (if there are games like civilization that arent complicated for beginners please recommend!)
i hate hate hate moving the camera with moving the mouse to the edges of the screen so pls dont recommend stuff like that and also cant nothing like civilization as i find them incredibly complicated and too deep.
tnx guys
edit: no scary games like rust or games like cities skylines where there is no objective
I am stuck between getting wayfinders or rivals 2 both very different games yes but to me both have an issue of what i can get out of them.
With rivals its 1) a fighter and 2) a very competitive one. So im afraid ill burn out too quick since im not very good at plat fighters.
Wayfinder is for the most part a single player arpg experience but could not receive as much content as rivals and is the smaller of the 2 games in playerbase terms.
I can only purchase one of them right now
My wifi ping kinda sucks and speed is low ( 15 Mbps) so fps games aren't going to work out .
my laptop specs are : rtx 4060 , Ryzen 7435hs , 24gb ram . 500gb ssd so performance might not be a problem for most games
I tried out fall guys , valorant , fortnite , minecraft , rocket league , need for speed . All of them seem boring or repetitive. The only game I play rn is brawllhalla .
So suggest a good game that I might like , thanks
Looking for games which take place inside dungeons, but have action combat, and no party members, example: shadow tower of abyss. platform: pc or any old console up until ps3/xbox360. From portable devices - psp and switch.
Recently diagnosed with epilepsy - not affected by lights luckily so video games still fine! - and struggling with concentration and memory issues on my meds. Trying to find something relatively stress-free and colourful (to improve my mood) with a low level of difficulty but engaging enough to get me engrossed for a bit (or coming back to play more). Keep starting things but can't endure more than 15 mins which is annoying as gaming has been my go-to for 30 years and, now I've lost driving licence, I'm stuck in house for next few months!
Things I've played previously that I am thinking of are Tinykin, Mario 3d, Lego, Powerwash Simulator, Racket & Clank, Fable. Although an immersive open world (AC Odyssey) or semi-open world (new Tomb Raider) would probably cut it too. Basically, not looking for a 50hr gruelling slog in a dank dungeon, terrifying haunted house, or gloomy far away universe! I've got Xbox, Switch, and PS so platform not an issue. Thank you for any suggestions.
Please suggest me Laptop or PC specs for my following requirements:
I emulated this and i can properly convey this. this is the first time i played it. i was initially not interested due to graphical limitation. yet this game is incredible. this game gives me vibe of morrowind. I hate, absolutely despise barren wastelands. yet this game was something else. i wasnt bored.. the titans were something else too... But this is one of the games under masterpiece for me.
On the contary, which video game titan character you found to be very huge. like over huge. for me it was first - second cutsecne of death stranding and Asura vs Wyzen
Im searching for a game were u can summong heroes and evolve them etc. Like in idle heroes or summoners war but with extreme f2p potential (it can even be an offline singleplayer game or a single purchase game). I want to go and grind all day to get summons without limit so i hope u can recommend something like this
Please don't say Sims. I'm searching similar games (like Tomodachi) to make my own characters and see them interacting with each other. I haven't found games of this style, which is kind of weird since i assumed they would be popular.
I played that game on facebook like 10 years ago,but now i cant find it nowhere. Some advice or if you know where can i find that game?
Hi all, so I've really just been searching for the past few days for a game like the title mentions. But instead of the top down camera that diablo does would prefer the wide angle camera view. Was originally looking for an anime style but couldn't really find any that matched that. Where you are killing for better gear. It doesn't have to be singleplayer or MMO exclusively. Though I don't really like spongey for the sake of being sponge so I generally avoid MMOs due to this. But if you have any that are good about it I'd love to hear it.
I want to role play a roguish treasure hunter and I’m looking for an RPG that will support that. What are some of the best options out there?
Hoping for gameplay around treasure hunting powerful artifacts that I can sell or use. Hoping for role playing choices built around the greed and determination of a treasure hunter. Hoping for good character customization and development.
Any ideas?
I love every genre except tgc. I just want variety lmao
I LOVE supermarket simulator I think the only thing that could make it better would be having a small apartment in the surrounding city that you could go home to and slowly upgrade as well. Are there any games like this? something that incorporates business management/simulator aspects and home ownership/decoration as well? Thanks!
I am looking for a game to play. Sci-fi type is preferable, but honestly, down to play anything. I recently played Animal Well and loved it. I also really enjoyed: Stardew Valley, Limbo, Spiritfarer, a Night in the Woods, Oxenfree, all the mario games, Baldurs Gate, Skyrim and Helldivers 2.
I have a PS5, Switch, and Odin 2.
Would love to hear what people think!
Is there any multiplayer fast peace game like severed steel, but multiplayer, cause me and my friend really likes the Payday 2 fast moovenent wich you dont get in Payday 3 and we where searching for something else to play, i tight severed steel was perfect but then saw It wasn't multiplayer. Also, the type of multiplayer i'm searching for Is online multiplayer not local, not like that we Need a matchmaking and get matched with random bit we Need to play togheder anybody from his own house
I remember years ago the youtube channel Extra Credits had an excellent series of videos called games you might not have tried, with really interesting game recommendations- many I had not heard of before, many I would not hear about since. Unfortunately the channel seems to have gone pretty downhill and the series has been discontinued. Are there any other youtube series, blogs, etc. you can think of with similar kinds of recommendations?
I hope this isn't too meta for this subreddit.
What are some pc games(preferably space related) where you have a charecter and can customize them, and go on missions and complete tasks and kill things so that you can upgrade? Kind of like ready player one but obviously not to that level.
ive been feeling kinda down for sometime and i feel like i need something to have fun with, since most of the fast paced games that i really enjoyed got kinda boring after the years (ultrakill and apex) and im craving something fast and fun (ideally multiplayer)
We've been really starved of military campaigns nowadays so Ive been looking for and playing alot of 1998-2007 budget military shooters. Any and all suggestions are appreciated and hopefully i can create a bit of list here for people searching for games they played as a kid when they google for reddit posts.
Note: im not exactly sure if some of these are necessarily budgeted so keep that in mind. Heres what i have so far-
Spec Ops,
Delta Force,
Elite Forces: Navy Seals (awful awful game)
Project IGI,
Vietcong
I love the feeling of exploring an impossibly large industrial environment in a video game. Building-sized powerplants, tunnel-sized pipes and ventilation shafts, enormous fans and turbines, NASA control rooms, machines, INFRASTRUCTURE. This kind of vibe, or this, or maybe this.
Games that have evoked this feeling:
Games that come close:
Not what I'm looking for:
Looking for other games that make me feel like a tiny ant exploring secrets in a maze of steel and concrete. Can be sci-fi, but doesn't have to be. Bonus points if the facility is lore rich and mysterious enough to feel like a character itself. No roguelikes, please.
