For those of us who still love gaming and manage to fit it into our lives.
You're all welcome to post any content related to being a mother and/or gaming. I'm sure there's plenty of things to post and say related to the subject.
Subreddit rules:
1) Trolling. Just don't do it. It doesn't contribute to the community and you will be banned.
2) Bigotry of any kind will not be tolerated. At all. That includes but is not limited to sexism and/or questioning our choice to become a parent.
3) Please refrain from questioning anybody's parenting just because they choose to play games when they can.
If you see anybody breaking the rules please don't hesitate to report them and/or message the mods. Thank you.
While this is a subreddit specifically for gamer mamas, fathers and childless people are still welcome so long as they adhere to the few subreddit rules.
Check out our friends over at /r/family! They're a fantastic group.

Hi other gaming mamas!
There’s not much activity in this Reddit and I really need to know I’m not alone out there, so let me introduce myself!
My friends all give me funny looks when I mention my PS5 - they all spend their evenings on Netflix. My husband doesn’t get it either, he watches YouTube all evening. They don’t understand that I enjoy the challenge of problem solving, upskilling my character, of bettering my reaction time and dexterity, of finishing and platinuming a game.
I’m 47 and have had a PlayStation since way back when they were first released. I lived overseas by myself teaching English for years and playing was a fun way to fill in time. The game I have loved the most over the years is RDR2 - it was so unexpected - I didn’t even think I’d like it at all, but gah!…something about that game - the characters, the music 💛….
I also really enjoyed Skyrim, Death Stranding, Horizon Zero Dawn (currently playing HFW), God of War, Assassins Creed (Valhalla, Odyssey and Origins), Ghost of Tsushima, and all the linear puzzle -ahem, “adventure”- games (Tomb Raider, Uncharted etc).
My kids are 11 and 13 and love Minecraft 🙄, but my youngest can now finally, after many years, consistently beat me in Crash Team Racing - a combination, I think, of my eyesight and reaction times getting worse and him getting way better 😳😂.
I tend towards obsessive in real life and this carries over into my play style - completionist. I enjoy working towards platinum trophies, even when it means a grind of finding all the animals or flowers or whatever it is in that particular game.
How about you?

Hi all. I run a large mental health peer support server and I've just started up a new chat. "Parenting Mental Illness" is a new Discord, a project that my mother came up with, because she knows how difficult it can be to wade through the muddy waters of your child's battle with mental illness, with little to no guidance. What I'd like to create is a space for people to bounce ideas off of each other, offer suggestions and support, and generally find compatriots to chat with. I hope some of you will join us and help make "Parenting Mental Illness" a supportive place to hang out and discuss your lives with children who suffer from mental illness. All types of caregivers are welcome.

Hi Mamas! So i work with three amazing people and we have created an 3D online game that helps kids learn. We didnt want to make it like other educational games that are built around a certain topic; we just wanted an awesome game that has educational content baked into it. Kids so far love it, and I would love to get feedback from you awesome gamer moms! We put it up on kickstarter and we're trying to spread the word. This is not a plow to just get you to give, promise :) but if it is something your kiddos would love then we would love your support; and we really would love some feedback. Hello everyone. I have started a gaming YouTube channel for children and young people where the content can be reliably content appropriate.
I have worked with children and young people for over 8 years, and I have been a gamer for even longer.
With a lot of gaming content aimed at children and young people I believe that some of the games are not suited for them, e.g. grand theft auto and even five nights at Freddy’s can have a negative impact on younger children who are watching let’s play. In addition some of the language used by a lot of youtubers can be seen as offensive and most would not want their children repeating what is said.
There is also a flood of content aimed at children with a malicious intent (such as the videos with the most popular random tags to generate views or videos made to look friendly only to have shock value) with many still getting though the YouTube kids app.
So, that’s why I have started this channel. The games I play will range between E for everyone and T for teens (e.g. overwatch). I will also be keeping the language clean.
This is the first time I have ever done video/sound editing as well as video game commentary. So it will be a learning process. I fear that it will start off abit cringey and low quality, but the more I do it the better I will get. As of this post I have only a few videos on the channel but I aim to have at least 3 videos added each week.
And as a final note, I just want to point out that I am not against violent or scary games and play them in my spare time myself. But having seen first-hand children’s reactions to content that they were not ready for (I have met parents whose children as young as 3 have had nightmares about five nights at Freddy’s and not being aware that the game was even from the horror genre or that their children were watching it).
So, I am the Good Natured Gamer, and I hope you and your family enjoy my videos :)
My husband created a new app for our son to play with, and is releasing it to the google play store. We're looking for feedback on the app to see if it is viable, or if it could be improved upon. [link] (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.WindingClock.BalloonGame)
Anything you would change or add? This is primarily a touch/pop game (balloons, cars, planets, fish, etc.) for young toddlers and infants.
Hello everyone!. We are a starting company and we have developed an app made for mothers where they can create tasks for their children, allowing them to earn points which they can later spend on purchases created by their parents. It is an app to motivate children in helping their mothers in doing tasks at home, interacting with their family in the process.
It is also completely free. Would it be possible to give it a go and tell us what you think of it? Or if not could you share it? Thank you very much for your time.
Here is the app. Only available for Android at the moment. Appstore availabitily is in development.

First - Mods if this isn't ok, let me know how we can do this.
Here is a basic spreadsheet I started. Please feel free to add your gamertag and/or your Reddit name to the list, add and/or mark what games you play. Hopefully we can keep the games in alphabetical order for easier navigation.
There are 6 sheets in the document, one for each type of platform. Use it to just add friends on your platforms, or look for specific games that you're looking for people to play with. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Here's to hoping to find some friends to play some games with.
I hope it's ok to post an idea here.
There have been a few posts recently of people looking for other players for specific games. What if we had a spreadsheet of games and we could fill in what games we are playing and what platform. Almost similar to many subs' birthday calendars.
That way we could see if there are other gamermamas we could connect to on the games we are playing. Maybe just use our reddit user name in the spreadsheet, or if people like better, their gamer tag.
What do you think?
I am a fairly casual player and originally picked up my own PS4 to play Destiny with my SO. However our son is 8 months and almost exclusively BF so if he's hungry I have to stop playing and take care of him.
So now I'm always behind on the game compared to my SO. Anyone wanting to play together sometime?
Would love some ladies to play with for that sweet 20% exp. bonus. :]
Just stumbled across after visiting /r/family. I launched a little (mobile) indie game a week ago and now I'm very curious to see if it appeals to any mamas at all :)
You can see a small trailer with in-game footage on this page: http://games.blackgrain.dk/hammerbees/
If some of you think it looks fun - I've got some codes so you can try it out for free:

Your participation is highly appreciated and will contribute to the growing body of infant mental health research. This research is being conducted under the supervision of Carol George, Ph.D.
