Jazz music writ large is an art dedicated to radical freedom--to the notion that each measure has within it infinite potentiality for collective expression.

Best places to buy free jazz vinyl and also see it live?
Has it been ever been done before? Imagine it would be difficult to freestyle rap over fluctuating tempi and chaotic polyrhythms. It probably takes a special kind of rapper to pull this off well.

As the album that got me into free Jazz, I’m pretty disappointed that (as of now) the only way to feasibly listen to it is to buy it on physical and there’s nowhere I can listen to it online without digging pretty deep. Does anyone know why this may be? And where do we go from here.
Looking for Free Jazz trumpet players. I love Archie Shepp, Sam Rivers, and Peter Brotzmann. Does anyone know of any trumpet players that play in this style. I like Kondo a lot but Im having trouble finding other trumpeters who play free.
I'm one of the contributors here. Loads of excellent albums made our lists, ranging from fully improvised free jazz to modern jazz with avant-garde leanings, even more great albums mentioned in the comments.

Specific request but, I've found a few free jazz records with strange percussion and I absolutely loved it, e.g. Sound by Roscoe Mitchell and Brötzmann / Van Hove / Bennink Self Titled. Thanks!
Improvised trio music featuring John Garner (violin, sympolin, shakuhachi), Anton Hunter (steel-string guitar) and John Pope (double bass). Recorded in a sacred space last July. https://johnjamesgarner.bandcamp.com/album/the-haunted-chair
Hello to everyone!
I’m going to Berlin for a couple of weeks before Christmas and wondering if there are any interesting gigs happening
Would appreciate any info!
Also as a foreigner would be happy to know about venues for such “sophisticated” listening 😬
Thank you!
