I'm wondering instead of downloaidng their app through the aurora store or apk mirror, is there a foss app I can use to get more functionality out of them?
Thanks
Hello reddit,
I’m on the hunt for a music client that could do the following:
Basically, it’s like blending the convenience of streaming with the quality and control of local music. Does anything like this exist? Or maybe there’s a combination of tools/apps that can achieve this?
Appreciate any pointers!
Searching the sub is mostly years-old posts asking the same question.
Anybody know of a FOSS app for editing spreadsheets/tables? I don't even care if it's exportable to csv or anything, just something for on the go recording.
I'm actually using NativeAlpha app to my social networks. But I'm having an issue... Can't paste any link on my Facebook because the app crash. Can be a configuration issue or it's something about the app?

I currently use Authenticator pro(Stratum). It has some problem scanning new QR code with inbuilt camera app so I have to add new code by importing picture from gallery but other than that the app works fine.
I recently came across Aegis Authenticator which seems to be quite popular. Has anyone used it? How's this app and should I switch?
I want to experience apple like ecosystem. So what are the apps that I must use? I already use Local Send for file sharing. I would appreciate if someone suggested apps for my android and windows for the ecosystem like experience.

I recently switched my contact, phone, and messaging apps to foss versions. Howevet when i go to quiksms, none of my friends' names are being displayed. it shows its phone number. I tried saving contacts from quiksms, but while it created a contact, it never saved in quiksms. I use the fossify contacts and phone app, for reference. Any help is appreciated! Edit: it works on Fossify messages, but id rather use quiksms
I'm looking for any apps to keep track of my subscription such as Spotify or Amazon Prime.
Thank you 😊
Realized that Sensorz app is no longer available on F-Droid nor Izzyondroid repo
I generally don't trust any third party APK download sites, and downloading to an emulator, extracting the APK, and sideloading is getting a bit inconvinient.
Qwanting leads to some suspcious looking sites, eg. aurorastore dot org, or a 404 like this https://github.com/AuroraOSS/AuroraStore
I found the F-Droid link in the menu on the left, thanks, so just lokking for the Aurora Store ditto.
Hi everyone, I am fairly new to f-droid and so far it's been absolutely great browsing through and using some of the open source apps from f-droid.
I was wondering if there's an app on f-droid that I could use to shorten URLs? If not, would appreciate some help as to where I could find an open source version to use on android devices.
Thanks ✌🏼
maybe someone knows messengers via wifi? something other than briar, it would also be cool if it was possible to create a mesh network there.
I've been using App Usage purely for it's timeline view.
It's the only app I've been able to find that structures the data in this way. Chronological with screen lock/unlock, screen on/off, with the duration.
Are there any FOSS apps that display Android App Usage in this way? I've tried a bunch but they all are missing screen and lock monitoring and or duration in-between apps. It's important for me to know exactly when I start and stop apps, along with unlocking and locking my phone.
So for the most part i use Cromite and everything is fine, but every now and then there's going to be some website where something breaks and it's not usable and i would have to juggle around and see what setting is needed, like webgl or webrtc or Javascript JIT, as usual there's a trade off between security/privacy and convenience.
So my question is, how do you guys handle this sort of thing? I already whitelist some of my commonly used websites but last week i had to login to a package tracker and instead of juggling around to find out what i had to allow for it to work i just logged with another browser.
I'm treading lightly here as i'm not asking for proprietary browsers but as i get older maybe i'm thinking that Cromite isn't for me, i care about ad-blocking and some privacy but i don't want to juggle around in-case some website doesn't load, and as i said this is very rare that it happens but when it does it's quite annoying.

Whenever I try to install or update an application through Droidify, the application downloads keep getting interrupted, and I have to press the download or update now button again and again, like after every one or one and a half MB. Is it happening with all? What should I do because sometimes it gets very tedious. Like today, I was updating a browser which is around 100 MB, and I pressed update now for 40 to 50 times until it got downloaded up to 50 MB, and after that, it restarted downloading when I just stopped updating.
I am using Droidify 0.6.3 on MIUI having Android 12.
