Anyone know what this place is, I’ve been here for 27 yrs, I have no clue.
Hello,
As title says, is anyone hiring in Flushing with no Chinese - available (9-5 Monday to Friday).
Applied to many on main st, however it's crickets due to no weekend availability, nor time flexibility.
Bunch of experience in various fields, majority were remote, except for few.
Anybody knows a good place who lives here in Flushing, NY for facial lymphatic drainage massage?
Why is it that any time someone says something (that is not racist) about Asians in this subreddit it gets downvoted into oblivion? Not trying to rage bait I'm genuinely curious
Planning on staying for 4 nights. My parents are 62 and 55. They’re not exactly senior citizens; they walk fine but they’re just not super active. Toddler is 2yo and I’m bringing a compact stroller for her. Staying in Manhattan is super expensive the time we’re going so I’m wondering if staying in Flushing would be practical? My parents are Asian so I figured they’d like the community in Flushing. Would the commute to Manhattan be absolutely torturous for them? I was planning on taking the LIRR to Midtown. Maybe 2 days spent exploring Manhattan and the other 2 in Flushing. Any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated!
I just discovered that this hot pot place closed. I loved that they had unlimited meats and drinks for free. Does anyone know why it closed? Curious
Been meaning to ask this for a while! Does anyone have any pictures of OLD main street?? (1990-1996) of the movie theatre the UA Quartet? Anyone remember the video arcade near Main street/Northern Blvd? Or the comic book store on where the RKO Keiths theatre was? I remember that golden age of Flushing! Anyone remember SunRise Video??
I might have to order this tonight. Anyone try it? They just opened today but it looked like they were still setting up. There’s seats by the window so it’s already better than Afternoon
What does Hwarak even mean? I did a google and got this:
“The term “Hwarak” is not directly translated in the provided search results, but it seems closely related to “Hwarang” (화랑), which translates to “Flower Man” in English. The term “Hwarang” refers to leaders of a youth organization in ancient Korea known for their roles in politics, civil service, and the military”
Anyone Korean can decode? Google doesn’t make sense to me
Like the title says, I'm looking for a store that sells cactuses and succulents at this time of the year. I don't have any specific requirements, though if you know of a place that sell cactuses that flower, I'd be particularly interested in that. I'd appreciate any input that you guys have!
Skyview mall open today on thanksgiving or close?
I’m just sharing this in case anyone on this subreddit know anyone that wants to open a business in this spot at Skyvi Mall in Downtown Flushing. This is the spot where Daiso used to be. Right next to converse store.
My possible suggestion would be a local pizzeria business or a pupuseria El Salvador restaurant. But that’s just me.
I’m just making this aware to Flushing residents. 👆
Hello, I was wondering where/how I could make introverted friends as a fellow introvert (posts around making friends on this sub seem to skew more towards extroverts, whom I struggle to interact with).
Are there any popular spots in Flushing that introverts frequently go to, whether or not to meet people? Preferably around my age of course.
For context, I'm a college student who hasn't really had any friends in the area since COVID, since lockdown ended around my first year of university.
I tried popular suggestions (sourced from places like r/Introvert), such as approaching people in the library, but find most not wanting to be approached and chat. Or the interaction becomes way too awkward to lead to anything. Maybe due to local culture differences?
Preferably, I also use apps like discord and wechat, since it's easier to interact with others online before meeting in person, but I can't really be added to group chats in the area without knowing anyone to add me to them in the first place.
If anyone has any tips, please let me know.
Title says it all. I'm organizing a birthday celebration for a small group of ~6 people, and I'll be ordering cake from one of the bakeries in the area for pickup.
What's the best place to cut/eat this cake in public? Ideally, we'd go to a restaurant, then after our meals we could open up our cake, light candles and make birthday wishes, then cut and enjoy.
Any recommendations would be much appreciated. :)
Does anyone know of thanksgiving 2024 volunteer opportunities in Flushing? Thanks!
I’m looking for the Chinese kind, which is what my grandmother prefers, but since we’re not Chinese, I have no idea where to find them.
I live near the Parsons Blvd and was waked up early by the constant airplane noise this morning.
Usually the noise of airplanes is not so noticeable, but this morning I feel all planes taking off/landing from LGA are routed over my head.
Is that a norm now? Or does it have anything to do with the rain?

Hello, I’am so tired of this situation and don’t know what to do legally. My neighbor a few houses down has a big dog constantly outside, for protection i assume, and it barks 24/7. I’ve seen them leave the dog out in a blizzard and in rain. I filed multiple complaints on the 311 page but the police or whatever the workers are called never do anything. The barking is insanely loud, I would go to their house and tell them to stop but I am a small woman and there seems to be a lot of men in that house and don’t feel safe approaching them on my own. I was thinking of just making a tiktok and seeing what the comments say I should do or just exposing their faces for being nuisances. I know people will say to get over it bc this is new york and noise is inevitable but you guys have not heard the vocal chords on this damn dog.
I can't seem to find these noodles in NYC

And yes I've googled and yelled it. Nowhere seems to have it. Any leads?
I'm moving to Flushing from a good distance away and want to have somewhere with a physical location that I can bank with just because I'm a bit old fashioned. I use a credit union where I'm at now, but have no idea if those are popular in Flushing. Any recommendations?
From the street level it looks like all the crane machines and most of the Chinese gambling machines have been removed. This is the first time I’ve seen the place lit up in almost half a year
Pm for details, provide details on design preferably an illustration or photo.
