I’m getting married in February. Looking for a nice place to stay in Orlando before heading on a flight. Any recommendations would be awesome. Thank you
Today's launch
I’ve seen some posts here and there but just want to confirm. If I do not want to replace all my windows with hurricane impact windows, can I just replace $15k worth of windows to satisfy the grant and then replace the remaining with regular windows (or not replace them at all)?
Thinking of taking a trip to Cedar Key in December and checking out some of the springs nearby along with going to Citrus WMA. How is Cedar Key doing after Hurricane Helene?
Thanks!
Anyone know what’s going on with the Portillo’s they are supposed to be building in Lady Lake? Cant find anything new info.
Someone made a joke the other day about these coming to Florida… well… there’s one lose by my neighborhood…
Does anyone know if tiny houses are generally accepted in trailer parks? This park has no hoa. The trailer is very old and should probably be replaced.
I’m looking for an affordable place for my cousin to live in. What’s the most affordable spot in Florida (like between 700-1.2K) to rent that isn’t in the hood and 30-40 minutes from the beach? The beach isn’t a requirement but def out of the hood lol , she’s a girl.
Edit: y’all don’t gotta be assholes ab it lol,if you have nothing helpful to say just scroll.
If you had the funds to afford one or two annual passes to local attractions what would you choose? The family and I (wife, 3 sons that are 8, 5, 3) are looking to purchase an annual pass to somewhere next year... we can't decide! We are based in the Winter Park area... so ideally something with 1.5 hours of us.
Send me your opinions on what is the most worth while!!!! We love outdoors, theme parks, indoor parks, beach areas.
A nice break from the relentless traffic and ugly urban sprawl.
Whenever I need some renewal, I go to the water. I was fortunate to have Veteran's Day off, so that's where I went!
Hey Florida! Just a friendly, curious Canadian here. We love you and frequent Disney and Tampa usually annually for the last few years.
My wife and I are doing our 3rd Disney trip December 3rd. We have never been to Florida (Orlando) this time of year. In December here we are bundling up in jackets, hats, mits... My question is what can we expect for Orlando weather early December? Will this be T-shirt weather during the day and sweaters at night or more? Really wondering what we should be packing.
Thanks a million!

I am going to take my first vacation in 30 years to Florida soon from middle Ohio. I am looking for some fun "Florida hilljack things" to do. No disrespect, sometimes that stuff is the most fun stuff to do. I have been looking for some alligator stuff, but anyone know of any of the more hilljack versions are? The commercial ones look fun, but I know they will not be as fun... besides that, any one have any recommendations for some other fun stuff like that to do? I'm not really into beeches or bars...
House is old AF and in an ideal world would need new windows and doors, A/C, and roof. These things are obviously pricey so I was planning on taking them on as needed. I was searching for government grants/assistance to fix older homes like the My Safe Florida Home program. It looks like there’s no more funding for that, but I came across Florida PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy) program. It looks like they basically provide funding for some home projects that you pay back through a long-term fixed rate assessment added to the property tax bill.
Is anyone familiar with this program?
Hello everyone.
I’m planning to drive to Florida with my family, we will be driving from Toronto, Ontario and most likely going to go to Daytona Beach. We are planning to go at the end of December.
I was just wondering, is it safe there right now weather-wise? I remember there was either a flood or hurricane recently. Are all the stores, restaurants, etc open and operating?
We will be renting a house or apartment on booking.com somewhere close to the beach.
Is there anything I should be aware of? Any security concerns we should be aware of?
Are there any beaches or places in Florida that we should avoid?
We’ve been to Florida some years ago and absolutely loved it there.
We want to support the local economy of Florida by visiting and spending some money locally.
Thanks in advance, any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.
What do you guys think about this one?
How hot is the market for gunnite inground pools these days? I remember hearing the builders were charging high prices last year due to excessive demand. Is that still the case? I'm looking to install in Central Florida.
Fishing licenses are on promotion right now. One year salt and fresh for only $6. Get on it!!
