Hey guys, first post here on this sub. Do any of you know why this happens? I did the normal soak in water for 30 seconds and then apply, but they don't want to come off and seem to just fall apart. This is my second Soviet Decal Sheet I've tried and still having the same issue. Both sheets are from the mid-war, Shturmovik Assault Flight. The original sheets that came with the set did this, and the replacement set Battlefront sent me did it as well. Any tips on what's going on and how to stop it from happening?
Does anyone have a picture of the assembly instructions?
I'm looking for advice on what to build for a con I'm thinking about running Flames for in April 2025. It went with the Battle of Nuremberg because it was the closest to the dates of the con. I want to run for 6 people and about 3-4 hours (depending on how much we BS while playing). I'm just starting my Germans so that's where I need the most advice. My American force is pretty sizable. It is mostly Sherman's but I have a fair amount of infantry and a smattering of other vehicles. I have the D-day book so I unlocked all the units from that book. Would that work of should I get some of the stuff from Bulge? How would you build these lists?
can you bring a ranger company along side a Bulge formation ?
can you use the 2nd Ranger Battalion command card (bulge) in a full D-Day formation lists ?
How do I know which box sets are the crummy soft plastic minis I’ve been reading so much about? I want to put together two armies from starter boxes, recently got Hit The Beach and am Looking at 82nd airborne and panzer lehr army deals, but would like to avoid soft plastic if at all possible. Where do you stand on the quality of those box sets? As someone who has ocd about mold lines and strives for high quality paint jobs, I feel like it might be a deal breaker. Should I go with plastic soldier company or another brand for flames of war ww2 models?
We are a group of friends playing, and sometimes we play 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3. So Im just curious on the amount of points to the list you agree on :)
I have scraped and glued my first platoon of British Paratroopers, going to but the paint shortly. I had a few questions.
Do you mark individual teams in any special way to identify where certain equipment is?
Is there a gold standard for identifying platoons?
I only lightly scraped the unites due to the sizes, can you really notice things like small face flash at this scale once all painted up?
Is there anything else I need to know now before I start painting? I have only painted 28mm in the past.
Hello,
I'm getting back into the hobby after a hiatus and throwing away most my things in a move. I picked up the Hit The Beach box a few days ago and am steadily assembling the pieces.
The three 76mm Shermans in the box leave an M4A1 upper hull and 75mm turret behind each and I was wondering if there was a place to source the lower hull, hull front and tracks. I know you can buy the M4A1 Sherman sprue individually on eBay and have some coming to round out my platoons but I'd like to be able to use the leftover bits also.
Any tips or am I cursed to have unusable extra components?
Looking to try out the AK interactive paint markers on my Romanians.
For the infantry I’m thinking:
Rifles: Wood Base/ Gun Metal Uniforms: Brown Boots/ Accoutraments: Red Brown Helmet: Olive Green
Also picking up Olive Drab in case I need it. Any suggestions instead?
This came up in my game last week. "Cheating" isn't the right word because he wasn't intentionally breaking the rules but I'm pretty sure it was wrong and it was a game-winning move. I think they were PaK40s (big towed AT guns) that have a 180° field-of-fire. I moved directly behind the one that could see my tank, and he turned 90° to the side (free 90° turn to face) and then fired 90° back at his halted rate-of-fire and killed my tank.
I'm pretty sure the free 90° turn is just to simulate the 90°-to-either-side field (that's really not realistic, it should be something like 45°). You're not supposed to stack them. (first determine whether the target is within 90° to either side, then turn to face it) He showed me in the rule book where it says the 90° turn is free. If what he did was right, it effectively give the gun a 360° arc. If the gun has a tactical move and he turned and shot at his halted ROF I wouldn't have a problem with it. What say y'all?
So me and a buddy of mine have been wanting to play some historical war games and we decided on flames of war. I was looking at starter sets and was wondering is it worth it to get the hit the beach box or would it be better for new players to just get the Kasserine starter set and worry about getting infantry later on? So far i only have a panzer 3 & 4 I got to paint up a while back
Does anyone know if the rules are still available? Firestorm Stalingrads were free, available on there website but Firestorm Kursk in not available to buy or from there website.
