things as they were
only facts
melkor destroyed the two trees and tortured and massacred elves.
melkor also attacked animals. that must include puppies and canaries
valar pardon him and make him live with elves
now fëanor:
creat jewels and wants to kill dark lord. the teleri business wasn't good but well valar indirectely genocided númenóreans too so
and what do the valar do? they force fëanor to spend all his existence in the halls of mandos
so:
melkor: kills everything - gets pardon and to live with elves and the rest
fëanor: only kills teleri - gets life sentence
ERGO: the valar preferred melkor
what do you think. this is only to open debate and critical analysis of silmarillion thank you
edit: grammar and vocabular
Why do people get so up in arms about the thing at alqualondë, sure "kinslaying" sounds bad, but Feanor just gave the teleri the oportunity to take some time of and go visit the halls of Mandos to go and see some cool caves. This is clearly not a bad place to be as Feanor himself chose to spend the rest of his time there. In actuality Feanor was doing the Teleri a favor.
I find this sub hilarious and awesome, thank you all! But can someone lay out the arguments in defense of Feanor? All I see is great memes, but I kind of want an explanation/defense so I can better defend him
I AM UNÞTOPPABLE
I hope at least the mods will read this one? I noticed all my posts got deleted for some reasons and I can't post anymore, I wasn't warned or told anything so could I get an explanation please?
Hail Feanor! I was just reviewing his speech in Tirion as I do on a daily basis and Feanor very clearly orders "Say farewell to your treasures!" Yet the histories state that Finrod "brought more treasures out of Tirion than any other of the princes of the Noldor". Nor did Finrod's insubordination stop there, for as we know he participated in a very illegal quest to retake a Silmaril.
Why is this criminal known as the fairest and most beloved of the House of Finwe? No doubt because he had enough illegal treasure to bribe the loremasters of Middle Earth!
Not gonna lie, I laughed as one fey when I saw this is the second autocomplete that comes up when I type "Feanor" into Google. Why is this? Are people searching for convincing arguments, or hoping for new discoveries of Feanor's goodness? Are the sons of Feanor running Google?
Galadriel knew what was up.
In the bliss of Valinor, before the Trees were destroyed, "Many jewels the Noldor gave [the Teleri] , opals and diamonds, and pale crystals, which they strewed upon the shores and scattered in the pools, marvelous were [the Teleri's beaches] in those days"
So you're telling me that the Noldor gave the Teleri tons of precious gems, which these jabronis just threw on the fucking ground and in the fucking water? And when the Noldor came to them in their utmost need to borrow some fucking boats, these dicks had the audacity to say no? The nerve of these assholes. So glad they got kinslayed. Feanor did nothing wrong.
