So I’m trying to start watching videos on dtube on my iPhone SE so I go to the webpage, no videos show, click on menu then trending videos, the loading circle comes up but nothing shows up even after 5 mins of waiting. Try to see if I need an account and it brings me to a page saying by signing I agree to the terms and below that there’s a get your mp3passport and another link saying get your meta mask wallet and finally a grey button saying meta mask is not installed. Do I need meta mask in order to just watch videos or is there something I’m missing or doing wrong?

Tried a few different sites, even motherless and dtube and can't seem to find them anywhere.

It seems once liveleak went down, all its videos went with it. Are they available anywhere anymore?

I wanted to try this site but nomatter what I click on: hot videos, new videos, trending videos, home, nothing appears after several seconds of searching. I search for obvious terms like video, crypto, asmr, internet, gaming, all have no matching videos. I have yet to find a single video on this video hosting website. Either i'm really dumb, something is wrong with my computer or something is wrong with the website. Anyone got a clue?

Dtube has been down for a day now. Does this mean it's finally gone for good?

After finding out that most videos on D.tube are basically embedded videos and therefor not stored on the distributed network. So I started uploading a video directly to D.tube. But it looks like that's not working, because I don't see any network activity in the task manager. I tried this two times, both times with the same result. So it looks like something is broken :(

So I was told that Dtube uses IPFS to store videos but every single video I have watched so far is just an embedded Youtube video. What is going on here? Where can I experience a Dtube video that comes from IPFS?

Just wanting to let the developers know that I consider the blurring of all videos with negative like-dislike ratio to be a weird choice. I know you can change this in settings, but I have no clue why this is the default, especially when the site is full of people who have accumulated a lot of voting power and regularly go on dislike raids. The other day almost the entirety of "new videos" section was blurred (the screenshot provided is from today).

At least, in my experiment, a timestamp in description been wrapped by an function:

but it doesn't work when I click it, same result even in a initial installed browser.

Not sure it's my own problem or bug there.

New to DTube. Still figuring things out. Tried to upload a video. It's not small at 570MB. It's been saying to be patient for like 2 days now. Can I cancel it? Thinking maybe I should figure out one of the other methods to upload instead. But when I go back to upload, it doesn't give me options, just "Your upload is in progress, please wait patiently."

Anyone know how to cash out your DTC? Is there a max to it or what?

After doing some research it seems like DTube is just YouTube with no rules. But OnlyFans was originally made for ppl with skill like cooking or drawing to get support directly. So if I'm correct (which I might not be) wouldn't DTube just become a sex site?

I made an account, I have a username and I downloaded a key. I put the key and username into Bitwarden and tried to log in, then I got a message:

As a viewer, I get no ads. That’s great and perhaps that’s all I need to know as a viewer.

As a content creator, I apparently can get DTC based on views, which is currently trading at USD0.09. That’s nice, but who is paying me that?

Also, where is my video actually stored? Many videos appear show youtube controls. Are they simply linked to videos that are stored on third party servers?

There is also the curator class. Would that be if someone just puts a bundle of links to their favorite videos? Say, if I wanted to put a few videos up by linking to some BBC and NBC videos, I could do so by simply adding a link? Or would I upload copied MP4s? Or store MP4s on some specific third party server?

Do “curators” get DTC as well? How are they distinguished from content creators? Wouldn’t there be copyright concerns in all of this?

I have a question is a dtube still using Steem as a database because I can’t find any inclination anywhere that stating whether it is or isn’t anymore And I looked through the Avalon node source code but didn’t find any API code or anything Suggesting that dtube was still using steem as a database

I made my Dtube account 2 years ago but don't feel like using it. I was told that the only way to dispose of it was by setting my key to null but I don't know how to do so.

From what I understand, DTube uploads your videos to IPFS, but can't access alll videos on IPFS. So what are some differences between uploading to DTube and uploading straight to IPFS? Y'know, besides the interface and having a somewhat popular site?
