Struggling to tell dragon fruit ripeness

I was getting mixed signals about the ripeness of a dragon fruit I got and finally tasting it I didn't know what to think at all. The flesh was firm and bright pink almost reddish but the tip was starting to turn brown. The inside was slightly gray but still mostly white. The taste? SALTY. AF. I threw it out immediately. I can't find any mention online of dragon fruit tasting very salty. I've only had dragon fruit flavored stuff and frozen red dragon fruit, never had it straight up or white until now. Was it rotten? Underripe? Just bad???

Dragon fruit beginner

I bought a dragon fruit and first night home it rained and didn't pay attention to weather I realized it over filled the bowl nearly drowning the plant. My question is is the plant salvageable ? I emptied out the water and left it to dry out a little but I can't tell if it's dead or still going. I'm so new to plants I've been reading and don't want to be disappointed in the end.

Growing in the midwest, how much progress to expect?

Started these American Beauty and Sugar Dragon cuttings several months ago.

They have been under a strong growlight indoors , its just starting to get in the 70s here on lucky days where I can wheel them outside.

Probably a month to go untill I can leave them outside for a season then around oct they will be back indoors.

Any ideas what kind of growth I can expect this year?

Will they likey reach the top?

I will add a crown to the trellis soon but should I expect overhang in the first year?

Fruit possible?

rooting hormone

hey I just picked up some rooting hormone for some other plant cuttings and also realized my new dragonfruit cutting had root rot so I clean cut the bottom of the cutting off, given that dragonfruit naturally callous over before rooting has anyone ever tried using root hormone while the cut is still fresh?

Is the sun more intense than normal?

Hey dragonfuit people. So I'm experiencing a problem and I'm stumped and I figured I would reach out to the community to see if it's a problem with everyone, or just me.

So long story short, I have an established plant trellised up that has littlerly sat in the same spot for like, almost 4 years. I've harvested fruit form it, and it has been otherwise healthy for most of this time, aside from a little rust that I treated over the winter.

So lately, especially over the last two/three weeks I notice my branches are yellowing significantly, like they are getting way to much sun. I understand that as we move into spring that the sun might be a little more intense than during winter, but like I said, this is an established plant that has not moved in years and I've not had yellowing like I'm experiencing.

There are no signs of root rot, and other than the yellowing there appears to be nothing else wrong. I've tested my soil pH and it's slightly acidic (6 ish). The soil itself is healthy and I feed my plants an organic fertilizer about 4/5 times a year (on average). I treated with Epson salts and initially it did seem like it was greening them back up, but after a few days they keep going yellow.

I'm considering buying a shade cloth, but it's strange to me that I havent needed one for years now.

But that leads to the question, is anyone else having similar problems with established plants? And if so, is it because the sun is getting more intense?

Use for old dragonfruit shells?

I froze some old dragonfruit shells to preserve the shell and seeds to plant them together (for like fertilizer as it decomposes) not realizing that freezing the seeds kills their chances of germination. I now have like 4 old frozen dragonfruit half shells. Is there anything i can do with them?

Seed from Red dragonfruit

Hello,

I took these seeds from a store bought red dragonfruit and some sprouted. I've noticed some red on the sprouts today and was wondering if that's normal?

Thanks in advance!

What are these long yellow protrusions?

At first I thought my plant was flowering, but from google images I see that’s not the case. What are these long yellow tendrils growing from my dragon fruit cactus?
