Afternoon every one! So recently I was introduced to Cedh, I was wondering the mass opinion on proxies, well more specifically, having an entire deck as proxies, a few freinds of mine are going full force into cedh, and I just can’t see myself spending even a grand on a deck. Some have told me “dude just proxy an entire deck, if you like it slowly buy it but just play with us” is this opinion popular? Or like do I just know some chill guys? Any insight is appreciated
Hello
I was looking at a full proxy allowed tourney and was wondering about what is acceptable / not acceptable when it comes to proxies. For example, can I run 10 [[Grizzly Bears]] with paper slips inside the sleeves indicating what I want them to be (probably not Grizzly Bears...)
I just wondering about the quality of the proxy
So they complain because it's way too consistent and powerful and tell me to build a different deck or they are never playing cedh with me ever again. And they have bult a few different cedh decks but say why can't you build something else? I'm like I don't have the cards needed for those decks and I don't have a printer to proxy them. Like I traded a bunch of stuff to get this deck where it is and now I can't play it in a format that is designed to be the best of the best. I'm just so upset and it bothers me . I tried working on another deck but nothing feels right and I'm missing key cards in most of them. I got rid of thorical because my deck doesn't run it and now I need it for most of the other blue decks in the format. I don't have most of the key stax pieces to build non blue decks so I'm kind of stuck.
I've been playing around with it, and it's just a devastating card for turbo decks post dockside; it really helps turn the game into an advantage grind that Thrasios really shines in, and can easily be brought down turn 1.
Thoughts? Is my meta just bad at adapting to it?
Hey all
I know we’re kinda stuck in Midrange hell right now, and I have been playing a lot of TnT instead but man, I find it really boring. I was thinking of going back to RogSi but given how the meta is right now, what do you guys think?
Just trying to get as much opinions, and data as I can so that I can come up with my own decision. Any input will help me out so much.
Cheers!
Just graduated from college and moved back home to LA. As the title suggests, I'm looking for a place to get games in and wanted to know if anyone had any recommendations. Thanks in advance for the help.
As the total says I'm after the discord server for Iron Man, titan of innovation. I'm the only one in my legs that has really looked at him for CEDH. Wanted to see if there was a server so I can talk to others whom have built him
Hi guys and Girls :-)
I am having pretty good success with my Ms. Bumbleflower list in our own cedh playgroup + here and there on the cedh server/Spelltable.
Before reading:
This ist by far not "the best deck ever created". I just want to point out, what it can do and my experience with it. I have 2 wins / 4 games vs. TOP cedh decks (Kinnan & Tivit & Co). The other games I have done were vs more like "B Tier" commanders like Ghyrson, Glarb, Tatyova, Ishai&Jeska ....
In total I spammed 15 games with her and won luckily more than 50%
Ok here we go:
This Line can draw us the whole deck. By using our commanders ability, we also give cards away. When going for a win, we have to choose wisely whom to give cards (non-blue / outtaped). As soon as we have silence effects on the board - we can feel a lot safer giving cards away.
This line does also draw us the whole deck. With Beast Whisperer or Dour port Mage we can achieve this without giving cards away. With commander + Generous Patron instead we have the same "problem/caution" like with the foodchain combo. (cautionely Giving cards to opponents who are Non blue / Outtapped until we have silence effects on board)
Food Chain or Aluren Loops together with Altar of the Brood on the board can win us the game even with opponents having protection from [[The One Ring]]. Thats why I replaced Brain freeze with Altar of the Brood. On the plus side it is tutorable with urzas Saga. For this combo we do not need our commander, no cards will be given away! In The end we can either pass the turn or let them draw and loose the game with faerie Mastermind ability.
For every 5 +1/+1 counters we get an extra turn. 5 spell casts could be alot, except by doing our loops (Food Chain / Aluren). If those loops doenst let us win because of certain Stax pieces, Sage of Hours gives us the ability to go for more turns, cards & Mana. In combination [[Kami of Whispered Hopes]] we only need 2-3 spell casts to have at least 1 extra turn.
With infinite Turns and our ability to buff up our creatures / commander and give them flying, we can end the game by "good old combat", if non of our other combos succeed / can be achieved.
We all know what this combo does. It won me 1 time the game. Always thinking If I should remove this package as I am not running many positive mana rocks. There is still a quite good synergy with other combo pieces in the deck (Altar of the brood / commander/ the one ring / ...)
[[Academy Rector]]
Heliod, the radiant Dawn
[[High Fae Trickster]]
[[Wargate]]
Neoform
Smothering Tithe - Commander ability forces your opponent to draw. If you choose an outtaped Opp. you will get a lot of treasure in your value / Storm turns.
Silence effect cards - Teferi, Time Raveler / [[Grand Abolisher]] / [[Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar]] / [[Silence]]
Kami of Whispered Hoped - Doubles the +1/+1 Counters I can put on (mostly my) creatures. There are some nice targets who like to get a lot of +1/+1 counters onto them. (see next section)
Derevi / Emiel - having no Inf. Mana outlet in the command zone makes this package not as useful as other combos we have right now in the 99 (even if they are not the usual 99 Shell for a bant deck)
Stax Pieces - I am not a fan of slowing others down, I like it more to evolve my own boardstate and interact where needed. By giving cards away to opponents we speed up the time until opponents try to win but also give interaction away. This could be favorable for us, but is also very risky when are are going ourselves for a win attempt.
Ms. Bumbleflower is not always needed to be cast at ~ Turn 3. But if you have 0 Card Advantage cars, you are better of casting your commander and you know u will draw 2 more cards in your next turn.
Feel free to comment and ask me anything :-)
Any tips and tricks are very much appreciated. And yes I know there might be comments like: "just play TnT".
I still think this commander has the ability to sneak wins even in a Top cedh Kinnan/Magda/Tivit/TnT Pod
I have started getting interested in CEDH thanks to channels like playtowin and other people who were players that were nicer about the game than the average edh player.
Yet whenever I see discourse, the main one I see is about fish and rhystic being banned, but why?
I get both are annoying to play against, gives the player who uses them free advantage, and generally slows the game down to a crawl but the way I see it, their necessary for the health of the game.
Because from what I see, when no one plays either or any form of stax, it’s very easy for most games to just revolve around who snowballs the hardest, or runs the deck with the most fast mana/ ramp which creates the opposite issue of games moving way too fast and excluding even more decks who can’t physically move that fast.
But I don’t play this format nearly enough to know the intricacies so maybe it might turn out I’m wrong and that both cards exclude many strategies ( I would understand too, both read like way better maxx c and that cards hated) so maybe someone with more experience can fill me in?
We've played cEDH with the new ban list updates for three months now, so today on the podcast we're going over what the meta has turned into, how it's affected tournaments and winrate stats, and whether the game is in a healthy place now. We discuss our experiences in games, what we've been up to, and trying to take a look at the format from a zoomed-out perspective.
Were Jeweled Lotus and Mana Crypt correct bans? Are you enjoying cEDH right now? Let us know down below!

No budget
The goal of the deck is to give Shigeki haste and create infinite mana. This allows us to cast and activate Shigeki infinitely and use the channel ability to bring back the cards to win the game.
Goal 1 is to give Shigeki haste, this allows us to cast and activate Shigeki multiple times a turn to dig for the pieces to put together a win. -concordant crossroads -boots -Surrak and goreclaw -thousand year elixir Goal 2 is to create infinite mana -ashaya + krosan restorer -ashaya + magus of the candelabra + land that produces 3 or more mana
With infinite on board and a finale in the bin you can cast finale infinite times for the win.
Stax and midrange
Not willing to put any more mana artifacts in the deck. With running ouphe and null rod it just didn’t make sense and found it was better to have more lands to hit with Shigeki activations. Other than that I’m open to any other suggestions!
I ran this at my LGS for the first time yesterday and to be honest it went better than I expected. Played three games with it and I was able to present a win attempt in 2 games and it took quite a bit of effort to shut the deck down. The one issue I found is creature stax pieces like archon or drannith shut me down with ease and I might need more/better creature removal. Looking to speed the deck up any more if possible.
Heya folks. So my LGS is running a proxy-friendly, no banlist edh day.
No banlist to me means I could also run MB2 cards like oracle of the alpha. But I'm wondering if it would be good in a competitive setting? It really just changes your later draws. Adding time walk and ancestral to the deck seem great, but putting more moxes in could actually make dead draws.
I am running wheels....wheel of fortune, timetwister...and some nutso draw so many more moxes isnt bad.
Also wondering about memory jar...not the best usually but with moxes and tolarian academy you could get it out and get alot of value. But giving a pod full of folks using free counters a turn of free cards feels like it could backfire.
Thanks so much for the feedback.
I've been building my sultai deck for a while before the bans but was always interested in dargo. So calling all Dargo players: Are you still playing your favorite pirate? Or is he dead entirely?
PS If he did survive I'd love to look at some decklists
I was unjustly banned by the mods and want a unban
Hey everyone!
Welcome to Free Talk Friday! Is there anything you've been meaning to talk about that doesn't quite deserve its own thread? Do you wanna tell us about the good or bad beats you've had this week? Do you wanna show off some cool new cards you acquired for your deck? Or do you just wanna say hi? This is the place. Everyone's welcome here! As always, be nice to each other.
Feel free to talk about non-EDH topics as well.
That's all for now. Have fun!
besides like rogsi i feel like i see most people on a midrange strategy in most pods.. anyone else still on turbo?
I'm adamant that [[vadrok apex of thunder]] has potential so ive challenged myself to make it work. Before anyone mentions, I'm aware it's not the best Jeskai commander and that other commanders could do what it does but better. However it seems really cool and I still like to have fun building and playing my decks.
Anyway, the combo lines I have in mind: [[Snap]] and [[hightide]] with a dual island. Vadrok and [[chefs kiss]] [[Bonus round]], snap & [[open the omenpaths]] (questionable, probably won't include) [[Angels grace]] and [[final fortune]](and functional copies) (this one I like because it can be assembled with [[sunforger]] if I choose to run it.) [[Underworld breech]] [[brainfreeze]] and [[lions eye diamond]] [[Teferi time ravelee]] [[displacer kitten]] & (insert mana rock here) [[Grinning ignus]] and [[birgi god of storytelling]]
Appealing traits: Compliments [[sevinnes reclamation]] Returns [[mystic remora]] and [[rhydtic study]] [[Narset parter of veils]] makes for a recurrence stax piece and is hilarious to pair it with.... [[Wheel of fortune]] and other wheels. My graveyard is like a second hand to me, and a big graveyard fuels Underworld breech, which I can return if it gets countered [[Prosperous bandit]] and [[curie emergent intelligence]] seem cute to mutate on top. [[Thing in the ice]] seems like a fun repeatable board bounce.
Concerns: Not a massive pool of good mutate hosts. 10-12 creatures that actually do something. Plus 2 creatures with mutate but I'm not counting those. Getting 2-for-1'd from removal Mana intensive Get hurt the most from spell stax like [[rule of law]] Chefs kiss combo gets shut off ive played [[gilded drake]] or [[volatile storm drake]] or if an opponent used those cards to steal my creature.
You think this deck has a leg to stand on? Any help is much appreciated
I've been working on this list for a little bit now. I wanted to build a Rog/Si turbo Naus list with 5 colors, utilizing the additional ramp/recursion from green, and protection from white.
Why Jenson? He fixes colors from Jeska's will and other rituals, and he's pretty cheap/easy to cast so you can still run Deflecting Swat/Fierce Guardianship. He also casts Bring To Light with 5 colors, allowing for a direct tutor/cast of Ad Nauseam.
I'm running the full Underworld Breach, Intuition, and Sevinne's Reclamation package, as well as Thassa's Oracle, Demonic Consultation, and Tainted Pact. Backup cards are Mnemonic Betrayal and Praetor's Grasp.
Despite a few 5 cost cards in the deck, the deck's total mana value is only 121, which lends it to be a pretty efficient Naus deck.
I'm also aware that Lurrus is typically paired here, but I chose to avoid that as I didn't want to be restricted out of cards like Rhystic Study.
I realize curses aren't a high power strat on account of most of the good ones just being plane too slow and usually only targeting one person. But it was my favorite archetype from standard and I just want to see what it would look like pushed to its absolute limit in commander. Is anyone able to help with this?
Hi all,
As the title states, I'm looking to revisit Talion, the Kindly Lord. To answer the people who always have to chime in with "edhtop16" yes, I've looked for references, and most are either fairly old (not in the search criteria I was interested in within the last month) or are barely changed compared to decks over the last year. I'm here to discuss, and ask about other perspectives on how everyone thinks Talion should be build, what the overall strategy is, and what cards might have been overlooked, underplayed, or newer that could redefine the deck.
Talion losing Mana Crypt and Jeweled Lotus, in my opinion, was a pretty hard hit, as the initial strategy was to resolve it on turn 1-2 and try to win the game via control and attrition (with your backups in Thoracle, Mnemonic, and Bloodchief Ascension). Clones become less useful as there is no dockside to really go after anymore.
Now with all that said, I think it's in a better spot with the current meta being a bit more creature focused. Cursed Totem and Graffdiggers Cage both stick out as big reasons to play this deck right now. The new [[High Fae Trickser]] could be an interesting addition, but may be too high a cost for what the deck wants to do, where [[Valley Floodcaller]] may just be better in that slot. Normally I run the deck light on creatures, but maybe there is incentive to run more? [[sheoldred the apocalypse]], [[rug of smothering]], and [[Scrawling Crawler]] I can all see having a place in Talion. I personally think Bloodchief Ascension is a must have staple for the deck. Debatable if [[Mindcrank]] should be added or not.
Does anyone else have any ideas/strategies they've been tinkering around with that could fit in this deck? Drop your thoughts and ideas below. Thanks!
Edit: Adding a link below for what I currently have. It's still a work in progress, so if you got any ideas for what to add and/or what to cut (and why) then lets hear it. Thanks!

Hey All,
I've been getting back into magic pretty heavily and have been playing mostly low and some mid-power decks. I enjoy it, and I feel like I may enjoy putting some higher-level decks under my belt. I'd like to start with Glarb, Clamaity Augur; I pulled him in Bloomburrow when I returned to magic after a long hiatus.
To the nitty-gritty of the post here:
Ive playtested this and was wondering what some experienced players of cEDH thought. It seems very straight forward. Get diving witch out. keep it out. Get Jace or Lab maniac out. Doomsday. Tap Divining witch. Win game? How can I perfect this?
https://archidekt.com/decks/10532559/glarb_high_power
How would this deck hold up in a high-power or cEDH game once its understood? Any help is appreciated. Thank you!!!
Bonus link with a deck I want to be able to afford/understand one day -
Wich commander would you say is good for a beginners who likes combos, like infinte mana or dmg etc?
I've been interested in building something competetive for a little bit but to put it bluntly, it seems like every deck I'm interested in that I look into like Gitrog monster ends up being something upwards of six thousand dollars. I understand that stuff like gaia's cradle is strictly optimal but I guess my question is, is there some way to make these kinds of things budget friendly? Or is it just gonna be a price issue no matter what with multicolor commanders?
been playing casually for a year now and just recently got into cedh. i have a yuriko deck that i’ve played a lot with other cedh players and it seems to do just fine but i want to build other cedh decks. what would you guys recommend to build as a beginner in cedh other than yuriko?
Hey so first of all, is there a discord for Rog/thras? I usually try to post in discords rather than waste yalls time here.
Anyway I want to get into Roger antics but not really that into Rog/si and wanted to try temur Rog. So I get all the infinite mana combos people run, but I'm not sure about the win con. With dockside you could cast all of the creatures in your library and finale of devastation. Or there was a lightning bolt / e wit loop.
But I don't get how people do those without the mana fixing of treasures. All of the combos either make all red, all green, or all colorless. And they aren't running mama filtering tech that I can see.
Thanks for your help!
Got a nice clock to it, is this doable?
I'm Very new to magic and have been watching a bit of CEDH. The card [[Tazri, Stalwart Survivor]] sounds like a crazy CEDH commander and I'm curious why it isn't even represented at the bottom of the tier lists I've seen. It's 5 color, and has tons of combos while also being a mana outlet. Is there anyway someone can explain to me why this commander doesn't even seem to get considered? There is 1 CEDH game on yt that I've seen and it happened to win (I know 1 game means very little) but I'd love to hear some of the pros and cons of a commander like this from more experienced players.
I have been thinking about strategies that can threaten life totals in a way that can go about as fast as some of the combo strategies in the meta. The gold standard of combat seems to be [[Serra Ascendant]] being a 6/6 lifelink flyer for just {W}. I was thinking [[Mocking Bird]] can copy Serra, but on its own isn't great. Can you think of ways to threaten life totals with the same speed and ease as Serra?
Some commanders can hit pretty efficiently like [[Najeela, the Blade-Blossom]] and "Murder Bird" ([[Ishai, Ojutai Dragonspeaker]] + [[Jeska, Thrice Reborn]]), but are still slow compared to combo decks. I am looking for a strategy that can hold its own in cEDH with a real threat to life totals. What commander can provide a stable framework to allow me to run these life total threats while not getting blown away by combo decks? I appreciate all inpuylt :)
I am thinking about putting my Animar deck back together is he still viable in cedh
Has anyone here decided to branch out from cEDH to duelcommander?
Just curious what kind of likes/dislikes, play styles, deck building mentalities, or similarities there might be. A group of friends and I are looking to try something new with commander and I'm just wondering if others have experience with the shift.
