Sometimes that red mana counter is so useful. UU is hard to hold up sometimes on my own turn. Sometimes I use tibalt's for countering my own copies in situations where I just need something thats not in my hand to get the ball rolling (i.e. having 3 tibalt's countering my own spells and copies.)
Halp papi's . I was recommended to post this question here and probably get roasted for running Tibalts in a deck with blue.
So I have been working on this list for a little while and I'm mostly happy with it but would love some outside input on it from people who have been playing competitively longer than myself.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/4Fia98RgvU6-7y1qyMhs1g
I have no budget as proxies are cheap, and there is a tournament coming up in june id like to play Ghired at.
I do seem to pull off wins by turn 3-6 with the classic Naya Pod lines. I also have the ghired lines and Dualcaster lines. And the main reason im not running things with [[goblin bombardment]] like effects is if ghired is making creature tokens he is most likely winning that turn. But im open to slot one or two effects for the value.
I have played EDH for roughly 3 years now, so I have a basic understanding of MtG as a whole and the stack etc but I still feel I have an infantile grasp on the rules compared to some players I interact with. We all know Magic is incredibly deep and that's half of the fun!
I am looking to sleeve up my first cEDH deck and I don't want to overdue it in terms of having a deck that needs a TON of game knowledge (I know this is relative). I am leaning a bit towards [[Tivit, Seller of Secrets]] for the simple fact that I've piloted him numerous times in EDH. Having said that I literally never bring him out because he's too strong. I know that one of his potential wincons is [[Time Sieve]]
I'm feeling overwhelmed as I'm digging deeper and researching cEDH and watching gameplay on YT. I feel that its best to just "jump in" with a deck and actually get my feet wet. I'm looking for guidance and suggestions on some of the "easier" cEDH commanders to pilot. Please share their general gameplans and wincons. Would love any insight :)
Hey guys
Where can I find updated tier lists and decklists for CEDH?
I had 3 CEDH decks
I found the first 2 have fallen out of favour etc and stripped them apart.
I am quite keen to build Tevesh/Kraum. I saw this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWvAwFZu2E4) and said it was one of the best. But then I read an article a month later saying it has fallen out of favour?
Is Tevesh/Kraum just a lot worse than tymna kraum? Or is it still fine? Any decklists recommended?
So I’ve put together my list and have it sleeved up I think it’s pretty solid but being new to the blue farm arena I’m not sure if I’m missing something vital or if it’s good to go. I know I can look at edhrec etc etc I’ve done that and this is what I’ve gotten together based off what I’ve researched. I am looking for input from Bluefarm players that have been playing the deck for awhile and have had success with it. I’ll put the link to my deck in a comment below.
Hello everyone!
The goal of this weekly thread is to give players a place to ask questions (no matter how basic) and to post the decks they have been working on for critique by some of our most experienced members; here's how it works:
Post a comment in this thread for help about:
• a CEDH related question that you have had that you'd like answering
• questions about individual cards, including newly spoiled cards from upcoming sets
If you have questions looking for more feedback on a specific deck, please consult our Deck Help post rules, and create a new post following those criteria.
We hope this weekly thread will provide better educational opportunities for members of this subreddit to receive high quality deck or game advice they may not receive elsewhere. We very much look forward to working with you all.
Please also feel free to come visit us on the Discord (link in the sidebar) and use the #help channel for any other Competitive EDH related questions. Many of us are online at most times of day and would love to help.
Note that for purely Magic rules related questions, your best resource is the MTG Judges chat

Ive been seeing the new marchesa, loot, rakdos, and stella pop up since the thunder junction set released, and I was curious as to how people have felt playing with and against them so far and if theres notable legs with any of them so far? Its easy to watch the cedh content creators and such, but Id appreciate hearing the opinions of the community at large on the topic.
As the title says, and I know this has been asked before, what would be some good resources or places to find (net deck) a list to start trying to get into cEDH? My group usually plays many edh formats but we have been orbiting towards cedh more and more lately. Any info is highly appreciated.
So I decided to brew up the new Ghired, Mirror of the Wilds that allows you to use nontoken creatures to tap and copy toke creatures. I tried to base the deck around the general creature-based Naya shell that decks like Minsc, Beloved Ranger and Rocco, Caberetti Caterer have. I also incorporated the Dualcaster Twinflame/Molten Duplication combo into the deck as well as the one card combo with Midnight Guard and Ghired. There are also Kiki-Jiki lines with Felidar Guardian, Village Bell-Ringer, and Karmic Guide w/Goblin Bombardment and a dockside loop with Temur Sabertooth.
The reason I make this post is because I feel like there are holes in the deck and I can't spot them. I'm newer to cEDH and am still learning all of the combos that the format holds as well as trying to gauge how to build around certain commanders in the format.
Here's the list: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Ah7DCGXFEU6qxIQ7163yxg
Any guidance on this would be awesome.
Thank you!
CEDH is my favorite way to play Magic. I enjoy playing fully optimized decks where the sole purpose is to win, but I'm also a Johnny at heart. My pride and joy deck is a [[Tevesh Szat]] [[Ishai]] humility list that I built from the ground up. (obviously its a cedh deck so it isnt fully original, but my list is the only version of it that ive seen)
I'm really interest in Mardu. I want the necropotence into final fortune. I want the saw in half, dualcaster mage shenanigans. The problem is I'm not interested in the tymna jeska or tymna dargo decks.
I have a tevesh bruse list that seems decent enough, but it got me thinking: in this grindy mid-range meta, is Tymna Bruse viable again?
Bruse definitely enables the ability on tymna, but Tevesh has become a pet card for me. I think its a hidden gem in this grindy meta we're in.
Any positive thoughts or commentary are appreciated
TL:DR lol bad post, apparently
The guys are back and we're reviewing the latest Magic: The Gathering set: Outlaws of Thunder Junction!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29Q2BxBJwpg
We both agreed that this set had many more options for cEDH than the last couple, and as such this is a beefier list to cover compared to our last couple of reviews, so there's a lot to go over!
Audio only version is up over on Spotify if you prefer!
https://spotifyanchor-web.app.link/e/mwA65gBsZIb
And here's the list if you can't be assed to listen!
Commanders with potential:
Kraum, Violent Cacophony - new comp Pauper build
Annie Flash, the Veteran - unique naya build direction
Loot, the Key to Everything - a fun new commander with unique card advantage
Magda, the Hoardmaster - magda only
Non-commander honorables:
Double Down - not good enough but still seems fun
Great Train Heist -magda maybe Rionya
Three Steps Ahead - Vadrik, Unctus
Duelist of the Mind - loots on commit crime. Might have some combo potential?
Sword of Wealth and Power - pro instant/sorcery is nice - hits to make treasure and copy spells
Best cards from the set in our opinion:
Commanders:
Satoru, the Infiltrator - Yuriko and possibly a commander
Stella Lee, Wild Card - infinite with a ham sandwich
Non-Commanders:
Bovine Intervention - cheap decent removal for white
Final Showdown - seems busted - dress down or protection or board wipe or all?
Aven Interrupter - removes spell from stack - can’t be cast again this turn (will be cast later for free)
High Noon - a new ROL effect at 2 mv - has red sac option to do 5 damage to target
Insatiable Avarice - krrik probably, fringe Marvo, Yennet
Molten Duplication - better twinflame
Lively Dirge - Inalla, finds spellseeker, dockside/ranger-captain/thassas oracle blah blah
Return the Favor targets dockside/thoracle/one ring copies d tutor/counterspell/Ad Naus
Enjoy the show!
Getting back into the format after taking a break, in Australia so all previous CEDH experience was on Spelltable.
Never played on MTGO, understand that UI is clunky and outdated, and aware of some game-breaking bugs that come up in CEDH games (i.e. Necropotence, Lemoras recent vid).
Willing to overlook these if it means being able to consistently get games. Cost of decks on the platform wouldn’t be prohibitive
Essentially, is it worth buying into MTGO based on your current experiences?
All right so I've been cooking and I believe I've made a somewhat decent deck for [[Satoru, The Infiltrator]].
Strengths
Weaknesses
Alright to kick this off this list is a Dimir cheerio type list meant to utilize our commanders ability to break a [[Doomsday]] pile, but rest assured Doomsday is not our only way to win. As a UB we are running the classic Thassa Consult win, while also running [[Hullbreaker Horror]] lines to then win with a [[Brain Freeze]]. To get to this point we are running an abundance of cheap tutors and Ad Naus, this deck has an average mana value of 1.04 with lands and 1.39 without them. We also have our classic UB draw engines. There are also several ways to at instant speed. We also have the ability to draw the game out by running an abundance of counter magic to prevent our opponents wins and protect our own, as we wait for the optimal moment to go for a win.
Here's the list, and I'd appreciate any feedback or suggestions for this deck. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/-SoDYOIAYE6VpAainbJn4Q
I’ve been rocking this Malcolm/Kediss deck for a long while now and need help sprucing it up and making it as optimized as possible for my first tournament. The lines with [[Reckless Fireweaver]] + making it a pirate has been my most reliable way of winning surprisingly. Followed by Glint Horn and Niv lines. Magda is the best card in the deck for sure being able to grab [[Maskwood Nexus]] or Niv Mizzet. I am wondering if this looks up to snuff for my first event! Let me know! Thanks! 😊
Hello,
I’m trying to keep the deck price under $500 so cards like Power Artifact for infinite mana aren’t on the table. I do have a few fast mana cards and meta counterspells already though, crypt, force of will, etc
That being said, does anyone have any recommendations for good ways to close out the game with Urza, High Lord Artificer?
I know of poly tyrant but kind of want to play other creatures in the deck.
I want to use stax to break parity but don’t want to durdle without a consistent wincon.
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks!
It seems to me that I worded my last question somewhat incorrectly.
Many people wanted to refer me to edhtop16 etc., but that wasnt really the point of my question.
I've been playing cEDH for some time and also play in Kaos tournaments...so I know edhtop16 pretty well.
The only question Im currently asking myself is to what extent Kinnan's conversion rate reflects its potential.
A current conversion rate between 12-13% (last 3 months) is a bit contradictory in my opinion as many still think it comes in just behind uFarm.
So I'd really like to understand why it's still viable event though the stats currently say otherwise. I can understand it up to a point. Of course if you "only" play the deck outside of tournaments Kinnan is more likely to perform well. The average Spelltable player just plays kinda bad...a few tournament players have tracked uFarm outside of tournaments and never got below a 50% win rate in 3 months.
Could this be an explanation for Kinnan's popularity?
I see a lot less Kinnans in my tournaments now and when I do see them they are hated right out of the game and don't even get to play.
So I want to say again that I definitely don't want to hate Kinnan. When he can do what he's supposed to do he is abnormally good but in a real tEDH enviorment, he just doesnt get to do it most of the time
So I would be really grateful if you could give me your opinion again. I'll probably get a lot of hate for it too but that's just my experience with Kinnan in the current meta. I'm absolutely open to any opinion and maybe my entire view of Kinnan will change afterwards :)
Hi everyone, I want to share the Uro list I've been working on. I've found him to be highly resilient and consistent, with a lot of different and synergistic lines. I've got some of the info in the primer of the list, but if you have any questions please feel free to ask.
Ultimately, the game plans are:
There's a few neat properties of Uro:
Some notes about this list:
I have played grull since I started playing magic and I have loved it ever since. The issue is that in most scenarios grow decks. Perform a turn slower and fall to no card advantage rally like most other commanders. This into consideration, I want to take a crack at Roxanne because it offers a food chain out in the command zone as well as the ability to combo with dockside and as well as kill the table. Right now this is my second iteration of this list and in testing games it has performed well. The only thing I have noticed is that slower, the deck, lack advantage or the ability to see more cards. With all this being said I will list. Feel free to give me any suggestions. My current is pretty standard, Sisays, kinnans, and bluefarms. I know this deck will not be the best cedh deck ever but I would like to have a list that can play CeDH tables and I can still have fun with.
Greetings fellow cEDH enthusiasts and magic aficionados,
I seek advice and feedback for refining a Taii Wakeen (No budget) fringe cEDH deck. You may find the decklist here:
https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/taii-whackin/?cb=1713659748
I would appreciate assistance with the following:
• Boros Strategy:
Suggestions for overlooked Boros cards, tips, and tricks, along with current meta must-haves. As Boros is not my primary color combination, and I am well aware of its many short-comings. I am seeking insight to enhance the deck's effectiveness without leaning heavily into stax strategies if at all possible. Any explanation of what to look for when mulling is helpful. Matchups aside, at what stage does a boros deck usually find its openings?
• Deck Trimming/must haves:
With over 100 cards, I need guidance on what to cut as well as what needs to be brought in. While the deck is combo-focused with resilient removal, I'm unsure which combo paths to prioritize given limited draw and tutor access. For instance, is Grapeshot necessary in the 99? Should I bring in ways to abuse things like dockside or add creature tutors to set up certain board presence even if its counter-intuitive to my winning game plan?
Your insights and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you!
I've played uFarm (Tymna/Kraum) for a loooong time now and i wanna switch to something new.
The problem is that i can't decide which deck to pick up. I thought about going for RogSi but the mulligans are pissing me off.
I then thought about Kinnan but he gets the Winota treatment atm so idk if he is still viable. Would y'all say he is still worth playing?
Is there any other storm/turbo deck y'all could recommend for someone who doesn't like rogsi?
My meta has the usual stuff in it. Its very mid range oriented and sometimes has a few spicy brews due to proxy regulations (they are forbidden where i play). So in a normal tournai face a lot of uFarms, Sisays, Tivits anf all that stuff.
Greetings.
I've been having a lot of success with a Zirda brew in my local cEDH meta and I'm starting to work up a primer for it as I bring the deck into a more complete state. But I'm bouncing back and forth between several small changes and can't quite make my mind up on some things. One debate I'm having is on using [[Crucible of Worlds]] as both a value piece and slow combo enabler for the grindy games.
Zirda wants to be a turbo deck, and he is. But if forced into the grind he needs a way to win that doesn't rely on the Commander, and I have an absolute prohibition against "dead" cards in my decks. I'm looking at Crucible for two reasons: First is that I'm running a full suite of fetches and saccing utility lands that would get a big boost from the ability to replay them. And second is that it enables a slow combo without the commander. The combo line is ancient and came from an old Azorius deck that I used to have:
[[Expedition Map]] fetches [[Inventors' Fair]] fetches [[Crucible of Worlds]] replays Inventors' Fair fetches [[Rings of Brighthearth]] into replay Inventors' Fair fetching [[Basalt Monolith]] and Fair ability copied by Rings of Brighthearth fetches [[Walking Ballista]]. This is a line I could jump into easily because a tutor or Urza's Saga for Expedition Map (for either Fair or Buried Ruin) is one of my common early plays anyway.
The second odd option is [[Mesmeric Orb]] as a Breach line enabler. If Zirda is out of bounds because of too many kills or a stubbornly protected [[Drannith Magistrate]] I like the idea of using Basalt + Mesmeric to mill my entire deck into a flashback [[Sevinne's Reclamation]]. This could grab Rings and Breach to the field and enable a whole bunch of combo shenanigans.
Both of these routes are slow but I need to stress that neither is the prime wincon. The deck is a turbo deck with an average T3 win and ~25% on the time a T2 win. I'm very happy with it. What I'm looking at is specifically the backup plans for games that go longer than I'd like, and I don't see many obvious answers in Boros. Two cuts is about all I can spare.
Lastly I'm curious what everyone thinks about [[Sulfurous Blast]] as a [[Sunforger]] tutorable instant speed board wipe. Its the only sweeper in the deck. Is there a better option? Blas Act is out because there's no way to tutor it reliably.

Was wondering if or when people would consider this a viable breach line in 2024? If so, in which deck would you include it?
basically jeska's would get you to 7 red pips, you breach, wheel of fortune, spend 1 extra mana (so need to have 4 mana to start this off) to recast jeska's and then repeat until you win through oracle right.
Would you ever run it beside other breach lines or is it just not necessary?
Hi!
3 of my friends and me have decided to give cEDH a try. We are long time casual players (not particularly high power) but want to experience something different and proxy a deck each. Here’s the thing, I REALLY want to try a stax/hatebears deck but I’ve read online that apparently its not beginner friendly / hard / not viable at the moment.
I’ve seen that people play Winota/Ellivere/Tadeas but i don’t know much about them.
Are there any commanders that a newbie like me could try without being completely lost? Thanks!
So this is a bant midrange deck built around the partner pairing [Thrasios, Triton Hero] and [Yoshimaru, Ever Faithful], my main goal is to create infinite mana through [Devoted Druid] and [Swift Reconfiguration] or [Vizir of Remedies], or infinite mana through [Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy] and [Basalt Monolith] to dump into Thrasios to pull all lands out of my deck and kinnan to pull all creatures out to finish the game with a [Finale of Devastation]. There is also a bit of an artifact hate theme to help in shutting down more turbo decks, with some protection through [Spellskite]. There are also some [Endurance] loops that can reset the board and enable a win for my next turn.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/98gdeiTAFke1yROZBH8Z_A
Is there any things I should change about the deck, I do kinda feel like I'm short on win cons.
(This is a [Neoform] at it's heart, if that means anything)
Attending my first cEDH tournament tomorrow - is it in general ok to submit decklists on the day just before the tournament starts ? (It’s not specified on the event page)
We're back with another stream team cEDH gameplay video! This time we didn't have any sort of theme or rhyme or reason. We just picked decks we felt like playing and battled it out on stream. This game was the most interesting to me just because of how it ended, but it was definitely pretty straight forward until the last few minutes. We had some rarer commanders in the pod as well, so it's a pod you probably won't run into in the wild!

Hello! I'm new to Reddit and this community, but wanted some opinions on how I can better my deck. It's currently an early-midgame combo lock deck, that mainly prioritizes control and recursion to get to a winning boardstate with Yedora or Hullbreaker Horror and Ruthless Ripper.
There's a few things missing that'll be going in eventually, mainly a Cradle for Snap/Den Protector line.
I haven't had very many issues with the current build. I went down quite a few lands in favor of fast mana and I'm pretty sure the Cradle and Duals will alleviate some of the issues that may pop up due to going lower on lands.
Opinions are wanted and absolutely appreciated! I've gone against a Thrasios/Dargo deck but didn't have other CEDH level decks at the table with me, but have managed to pull off a win quite a few times with it.
