Hi Cincy bikers, I'm coming to the city from Slovenia to exhibit my artwork at BLINK Cincinnati and I would like to get a bike to get around the city for the week I'm staying here for. I'm not having any luck finding something straightforward online, can anyone recommend any service? Garage OTR is very close and I'll drop by there, but in case they don't have anything for me I'd like to have an alternative. :)
Thanks and come ride around the BLINK festival!
Any of y’all do any bikepacking around these parts? Not necessarily looking for rough trail-type stuff. Seems like the Little Miami River Trail seems a good place to start for a noob, but I wanted to check for any recommendations from you wonderful people!
To distill: I want to bike to campsites, where are the campsites?!
Going to try to make to from kings island and take the bike path north to bellefontaine Saturday. Any hazards to watch out for? How big of an undertaking is this? The most I have bike before at one time is 30 miles but with he mostly flat bike paths and stops along the way I'm interested to try.
I live in Mt. Adams, ride up to Devou and Ft. Thomas frequently (both up Covert Run and Waterworks), but I am getting tired of these routes and still want to ride somewhere that is accustomed to having cyclists around. Anyone have any other routes that are low/low-ish traffic and are more gradual, longer climbs? Looking for something similar to Devou (i.e., around 1-2 miles bottom to top, averaging 4-5% grade - I am aware that this is not long by most standards but seems to be for Cincinnati). Any suggestions would be great.
As mentioned, I live up in Mt. Adams and ride to most of my routes, so suggestions within riding distance that don't require a car equals bonus points!
Hi all, I am going to be in the area late October and have a Monday morning/early afternoon to myself. I am thinking about spending time on the bike. A quick search shows one option is to pick up a rental bike from Montgomery Cyclery Loveland, bike from Loveland to Milford (and back). I could have head north too but not sure what's out there. I am comfortable doing 30 miles or so overall but don't want to stretch to 60 miles since I won't bring any biking gear other than a helmet and some gloves (no bibs).
My goal is to just get out there and enjoy some beautiful scenery this area has to offer, grab a coffee/lunch somewhere and take it easy. I have already rented the red bike from Cincinnati down town last time so not wanting to do city rides again. If you have any suggestions on a great way to spend a couple of hours on bike, please let me know. Thank you so much!
Hi all, just moved to town. I have a severely neglected bike I want to fix up. I can get the parts and tools and such and do it on my own, but I was hoping to meet some people and lay down some roots in a community of sorts. Unfortunately, Mobo has such limited hours and I can’t always be free.
Is there any where else that offers tools/assistance/friendship or am I on my own? Thanks in advance.
I will be visiting Cincinnati/NKY next week and hoping to get some rides in.
In the pictures route a safe one in terms of traffic, road conditions, etc? I’m an experienced road rider and don’t mind sharing the road with [95% respectful] vehicles.
Route:
Middleton Mills Park Start NE on Marshall Turn SE on Decoursey Turn East at Visalia South on Pond Creek Road and continue as it ends at Kenton Station Road (now heading E NE) East on Lees Road until it turns into Pleasant Ridge Road W on Visalia Road Quick run NW on Decoursey Turn on Case Road Take Steep Creek Road back to Marshall Marshall to the Park/end
For as long as I have lived in NKY this highway has been closed to through traffic. I recently got a bike and loved that I could ride along the river and maybe see one car for the duration of the ride. Except for the time I got stopped by a cop who hassled me about ignoring a "no through traffic sign" I have enjoyed my time on this road. Now that it is reopened to traffic, how busy do you think it will be?

Hi, I'm researching bicycling, knowledge of bicycling rules/laws and adherence to these rules, interactions with police, and perceptions of police to understand different experiences across groups of individuals.
If you are a cyclist over the age of 18 years, please consider taking this completely anonymous survey, which will take approximately 15 minutes: https://johncarroll.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5aJavqHo8kjMAhU

I signed up to do the Tour de Crown this year. I was going to do it last year but waited too long and the registration filled up. Did anyone do it last year? I'm wondering what to expect on the parts of the route that are on road. Do they close off a lane for all of the bikers or do we just fend for ourselves? The thought of going up MLK is going to be tough. Route
Went to Scioto Trial Park to try the 'beginner gravel' route from Ohio Gravel Grinders. One of the hardest rides I've ever done. Looking for something a little less mountainous.
Can still get on at Avoca, Bass Island, or through the 50 West beer garden.
Does anybody know if a fat tire e-bike will fit in the SORTA and TANK bus bike racks? Thank you!
I feel like I’ve seen some conflicting stuff about where I am allowed to legally park and lock my bike in areas that don’t have bike racks near. I’ve seen some stuff saying you can lock to any signs in parking lots, as long as it doesn’t obstruct movement. Like the back of a stop sign or behind the concrete barrier of a handicapped spot(though this feels kinda shitty to me). Has anyone tried parking like that? Is it safe to, both like in terms of the bike not being taken and you not getting a ticket or having the police take it.
Was wondering if there were any good places to bike at night. It seems to be the only time of day when I have the chance to bike. Looking for somewhere I can just go to relax but also get a bit of exercise in. Preferably within like 5-10mi of the UC area.
I’m from north of Bellefontaine, so I have used the Simon Kenton trail a lot and have ridden as far as Urbana and back.
My wife and daughter are going to kings island tomorrow and I was thinking about tagging along to ride the nearby path while they are at the park.
Open to suggestions as I have never ridden this area before. Should I ride north from kings island and maybe towards Xenia, yellow springs (can get picked up on my wife’s way back home) or ride south (and back) and ride through Loveland and towards Cincy?
Excited to plan this trip!
I'm tired of slogging up those hills into Hopkinsville when I'm 80+ miles into a ride. Can I at least walk my bike through the construction?
Edit: the detour signs are still up but you can 100% make it around the blockages near the brewery. Way safer and easier than taking the detour
I'm searching for new road bike-friendly routes to explore around town. I'm in Oakley, have explored Wasson Way and Loveland Bike Trail, but would love some suggestions for any rides, maybe through nature, or involving great views. Very broad post just wanting to explore some new trails! Thanks! *Edited to note road bike routes only*
Thought I would share this article with the Cincinnati cycling community. Does the city host any crits? I don't race anymore due to knee surgeries. But I would love to volunteer with organizing races or rides. https://www.bicycling.com/news/a40909096/national-cycling-league-2023-nfl-investors/. Happy holidays everyone.
