Chrome policy of making a backup of settings based on syncing is really stupid on multiple levels, why do you even presume every1 is always online, willing to waste time, Internet bandwidth, lets not forget manually doing this to every single Windows of a friend/client/or even YOU on a dual OS environment ? I mean the "User Data" folder is on my HDD/SSD already, why'd I download every thing again from the beginning for god sake ??? do they understand that software should support something called portability and re-usability ?
I know they couple Windows SID with the settings, but its not really convenient to change Windows SID for every Windows you want.
I'm on latest version 130.0.6723.92 (Official Build) (64-bit) for Windows 11.
Just noticed tonight my bookmarks are gone. I cannot find a way to turn them back on. I don't know if this was due to the new update or what. They are still in the folder C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default
But Chrome just seems to no longer recognize them or have any way to access them. Anyone else experiencing this? I've tried re-syncing, I've tried importing the bookmarks manually, I've checked the settings and turned the bookmark bar off and on, closed and restarted the browser multiple times and no luck.
To keep this short, no matter what I do when I attempt to log into my personal account it automatically takes me to my school login portal. I hadn’t noticed I was even logged in at first, as it just says “sign in” instead of showing my school account icon. This obviously isn’t ideal and it’s driving me up the wall knowing I can’t log out (there is no option to log out in settings). Do I delete the app? Reset my phone? Administration has blocked anything useful so I can’t just quickly google search this, sorry if it’s a stupid question. Any help at all would be appreciated and I can provide more details if it’s needed to fix the issue.
I was in the middle of ea team builder and my screen went black then this popped up and wont close or anything
Yes, this is an unstable Chrome - I don't know if it's available to phone users - if we're not discussing it here and you need to delete, that's cool.
I'm sure some of you know that the right-click and scroll has been fixed in Canary. It was briefly broken again, but hopefully they are on top of it. Canary has other issues (off the top of my head, links aren't changing colour upon click) - but the scroll thing might interest some. I'm sure it'll come around to stable at some point, but I'm no expert.
Prob not right sub for this, how do I unblock extensions? I literally don't care if it's breaking the rules atp, I just want to get the "better canvas" extension. Also I have iboss, honorlock, and chrome remote desktop as I guess extensions the school installed if that helps. I can't do tests anymore, I'm literally failing because we have to take tests on canvas and we can't change the theme and i can't see jackshit cuz of the bright screen I can't focus literally help me 🤦🏻 also if this isnt the right sub tell me the right one
I mean, if I am looking for something to buy, like a bike lock or shirt that I take a snap of, it seems to be working okay. But I will often try to identify images from online, and it is consistently unable to find stuff.
Thus, I am thinking there must be a reason for the sudden drop in performance of Lens.
Hello, i'm trying to find any way to force light theme on websites, a extension or something?
Some websites doesn't let me change the settings and is unbearable for me to read :(
All my passwords and logins saved to chrome are gone, there are no previous versions saved to restore too. Am I screwed?
Hello, i have a question regarding limiting the speed of file downloads. I need to download a few files, which are around 30-40GB each, sadly not through a torrent link, but through the browser. Problem is, Chrome will max out the speed of the download. Usually that's fine, since it makes downloading files faster, but maxing out the speed for these downloads isn't good, because it limits the usage of the whole PC in terms of internet speeds.
I tried the Dev tools limiter, but it didn't work at all, speed kept the same regardless of setting. Is there anything else that i can do to limit the download speeds of files?
The title. I also haven't enabled the enterprise registry policy which extends the deadline to June 2025. Can anyone explain why?
Hey everyone,
So I have a minor issue that has been happening on chrome lately. I used to go to community college, and so have everything for that site cached and cookies saved.
Trouble is trying to log into blackboard for my 4 year school. Instead of taking me to the school-based microsoft login where I put in my school microsoft 365 login info, it re directs me back to my old community college login screen. How to I fix this? My current workaround has just been using edge browser instead.
TL;DR click blackboard on 4 year school>should take me to school microsoft 365 login
instead> takes me to community college login page for my old school
I can see other people's media with it, so I assume they can see mine, which I'm looking to stop. I've found some info on how to disable the feature in my browser through chrome://flags, but am wondering if that would also prevent other people from seeing my media in their browsers. Sorry if this is an obvious fix or has been answered before, but I couldn't find an answer after some digging. Seems like other people have asked without followup:

Is there a way to restore the tabs in chrome on my android phone from old sync data? how do i access it as it is showing synced a moment ago with only 5 tabs.

Hey, I've noticed that since a few weeks ago there's a small but noticeable sound delay when I watch Youtube videos with my Bluetooth headphones on my Mac. I'm aware of the inherent sound delay that comes with Bluetooth technology but I'm pretty sure Chrome used to compensate for this delay on Youtube (and probably other sites) because I never noticed it before. It seems some recent update disabled this feature.
This sound delay issue doesn't occur on Firefox, which probably has its own compensation mechanism. It does happen on Brave too so I assume it's coming from the Chromium engine.
I'm using Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones on an M2 Macbook Pro with macOS Sonoma. Does anyone else have the same issue? Do you know if there's a hidden setting somewhere to turn back on this sound delay compensation feature?
Thanks
I have no idea how to change these back. I updated both my macOS and clearly Chrome was updated with it
I used to be able to type in something in address bar, get search suggestions, and then use the up/down arrow keys to select a prompt. I also used to be able to use the left/right arrow keys like how you normally would when typing, and go back to previous letters
When I press any arrow keys now, it will automatically deselect the address bar and, for example, select the first element on the new tab page. Anyone else experiencing this? Wtf?
Hi,
I don't know what's changed, but the Chrome goes slowly lastly,
The loading icon (in the tab) very laggish, websites load like 3G internet.
I use version 130.0.6723.92 x64, with NextDNS DNS, connect with WIFI, 320 MB/s Download at Speedtest.net.
Anyone else also face something like that?
Regards.
Hey guys, I have an HTPC, I've an AHK script that runs at system startup that listens for key presses and launches appointed apps, this includes running a portable version of chrome in kiosk mode that uses a Smart TV user agent string to launch the TV version of YouTube. While it works flawlessly, I'm looking for a lightweight of doing this. Something like a "wrapper" that contains a minimal version of chrome like web view that we get on android, launches the website using my user agent string, accepts chrome parameters like "--kiosk" and stores the browser data on the running folder. I want it to be self-contained and lightweight where it runs as a single process.
Alternatively, if I'm hunting a unicorn, I will say that I noticed that edge browser has a web view mode, if you can link me to a guide to utilize this, I'll be happy to try it out
TL;DR in looking for a lightweight way of launching YouTube that supports chrome parameters.
I hope this makes sense, thanks guys
I have a uncommon problem and don't know a solution.
Every time I open chrome and a twitch Live Stream i get 10-20 less fps in nearly every game. When I close chrome completly the fps rise again in every game.
The Task manager show nothing suspicious, just 1-2 gb ram usage even with more tabs open.

Mobile Google Chrome app. You know how you're able to highlight whatever word/number is on the screen and the window opens at the bottom showing the Google results? Why does it constantly either omitt words or change things? For example I could highlight someone's full name (first, middle and last) and it'll search only the first and second name.. why would you do that? It's obvious I'm searching the whole name for a reason, why would you take it upon yourself to remove part of what I'm searching for? Your job is to search what I want searched, not search what you want me to search.
It happens very often with words too or a small sentence. Sometimes it'll whole change something too. I really wish I could think of more examples for these but I tend not to really want to remember these incidences.
I just don't understand how difficult it would be to simply search what is highlighted, that's literally the whole point. So when that happens I can't use the window that shows at the bottom, I have to exit out of that and either copy/paste what I'm searching for into Google from another page or open the little copy/paste 3 dot menu and tap the "web search" option, which I attempt to stay away from since I generally don't want to open all these other tabs just to search something for a few seconds. It is what it is tho, at least there's other ways around this.
Does anyone else encounter this?
Exploring a method to hide the most visited tiles on Chrome's new tab page in Android or replace them with fixed sites to reduce phone usage and avoid repeatedly visiting the same sites.
So if I type some text in the post box and then try to add a photo it freezes the entire browser window every single time.
If I add the photo first and then type the text if I type more then 2-3 sentences it will also freeze.
If type more then a paragraph or so of text with zero picture it will also freeze.
So basically I can only make very short only text posts or only photo posts on FB in the Chrome browser.
This is not some times it is every time.
And I have done the following to resolve it:
Removed all extensions.
Updated Chrome.
Reset settings to default.
Cleared cookies, cache, history.
Completely uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome.
None of that fixed it. Facebook works normally via all other browsers and via the phone app.
Help?
This issue is new having started to occur in the last week or so.
I have been using the this extension for a while, but I've noticed that sometimes Chrome sets the tab `autoDiscardable` property to false for certain tabs, seemingly based on some algorithm.
I noticed that because I often see the action icon turns to green, and the "Keep Selected Tabs for This Session" is checked.
After I dug into the details. I found that is caused by above reason.
However, this isn't the behavior I want—I’d like to follow the timing settings in Auto Tab Discard (e.g., discarding a tab after 10 minutes of inactivity).
Does anyone know how I can ensure that Chrome respects the Auto Tab Discard timing instead?
Thanks in advance for any help!
About 1 weeks ago, Chrome started to make some strange noises that sound like audio cut or bulp noises randomly.
Im using windows 11 latest version.
windows 10
