so a while back, our sticker printer broke and we were hand writing all our stickers. It's annoying but you know, gotta do what you gotta do. It's been more than a week and now everyone's mostly started printing all of our stickers at the raw station where we do filleting. They're claiming they're going to change their gloves afterwards but this seems like a really, really bad policy. I've already pretty much given up on trying to stop cross-contamination at my store, but I just wanted to confirm this -is- cross-contamination and this shouldn't be done. Thanks!
Lately, I’ve noticed a pattern with shift leads and supervisors just standing around, micromanaging, and not actually jumping in to help the team. It’s frustrating because it doesn’t feel like teamwork anymore. Instead of leading by example or supporting us when things get hectic, they just micromanage and make us feel incompetent. Like, we get it you’re in charge, but sometimes we need you to actually do something, not just tell us what to do. It feels like they leave everything on the team members and then act like they’re too good to get their hands dirty. We’re all here working hard; why not jump in and help out?
Does anyone else deal with this, or is it just my location?
Does chick fil an offer any early payday options?
Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows how to apply to become an ecosure or deloitte person? I really think they can be a great career choice for me and I can't seem to figure out where to apply for one. Does anyone know? Also, I would love to hear about anyone's timing working for one of these jobs. Does it pay decent? We're you working a lot of hours? Anything you got I would love to hear! Appreciate it!
Been with CFA for a 4 and half years. 22 years old
Edit: Am I working for Chick-fil-A, or am I working for EcoLab?
Who are the idiots that design the toys and who hurt them? They need a hug. from a cobra. And perhaps have the tears wiped from their eyes. with a chainsaw. like THE HECK. cmon. 😡
Well, as the title says, after three years I have officially quit. Last Friday was my last day. For those looking to go to CFA, here's my experience, and I hope that it helps people looking at the opportunity to go work at their local CFA. When I started, I was only ever trained on saucing orders in drive thru, and was later told by the person who was my trainer that she was told by the training director to not worry about my training, that I would quit after a few weeks. Well, over time, being the stubborn person I was, I made myself learn different positions, primarily through telling people I was trained on positions that I wasn't, and then learning through trial and error. About 8 months in, I started becoming a trainer, afterall, I wanted people to feel like they knew what they were doing and not have a training experience like mine. I did so for a little over a year and in November of 2023, I started letting shifts and becoming a Shift Lead / Captain / Leader, the term differs per store. Well, unfortunately, the restaurant began having a hard time hiring people and retaining people, which I have my theories to why, but I don't want to say without more than circumstantial reasoning. Well, over the past year, it has been busy not stop, constantly beating out the previous year in business and making store records despite having half the staff of the previous two years. Within the last month and a half, we've have some of the best and longest lasting people we've had leave, and knowing what was coming, I put in applications other places and got another job. I put in my two weeks and during those two weeks, every decision I made was majorly questioned and met with criticism, but I pushed through. I had half a week left as my last day was supposed to be this Wednesday, but they didn't schedule me. I wasn't too pressed since my new job starts next week. Over the years, I've met many people, made some great friends, had great experiences with guests, but on the other side, I've worked with horrible people, been affected by tons of drama, and been yelled at or cussed out by many guests. All in all, I overall enjoyed my time at CFA when we were properly staffed, but when we were consistently understaffed, and I was the longest lasting person on shift at only 19 years old, I just couldn't take the stress. I love the people I worked with and wish the best, but unfortunately the stress was taking its tolls in many ways. If you work at CFA, I hope your staffing is better, because the systems work well if you have the people to run them, but it is not designed for upwards of 20 people being on the clock at any given time and having 12 or 13.
I woke up this morning to one click now having a group chat feature, has this always been a thing?
After 2 years of this I finally quit. That's all. Go ahead, be happy for me. Cuz I'm ecstatic!!!!
Because I know there is a “fresh” button when taking orders but does BOH actually make the food fresh?
Recently started working for a CFA(BOH), I've asked about employee meals or discounts of the sort, but I've been told that we don't get any.
WHICH I would understand if we didn't get any at all whatsoever, but I've been told that we don't get any because we haven't reached our "satisfaction goals" and that once we reach the goal we will get some.
Does anyones else's CFA do something similar???
(Maybe it's just me, but I had never heard of a place setting if's or but's to provide a meal. You simply do or don't provide it, but that's just my pov.)
So I'm 15, and just started working about a month or so ago. I make minimum wage, which is 12 dollars in my state. I was talking to my coworker, also 15, who has been working ~3 weeks longer and is no closer to turning 16. she makes 13.50? i know i messed up not asking about it during the interview, but what should i do? my manager is very fair, but it feels weird asking for a raise 1 month in. but on the other hand, i dont want to be seen as a pushover, because they never pay me on time either and have me work more than i ask for. what should i do?
Hi everyone, this is my first post here.
Little bit of context :- I am working on these store for 1 year. In our store, we have Leadership program that we need to pass to become a team leader. When the first wave of training announce they told me I'm also part of that but later on I found out that they never planned me to put me in. After that I just stop working that much hard. Somehow they talked about me on meeting and Owner offered me multiple options which I turned down because I thought that they played with me.
So, last week again one of the executive offer me the Role, and this time I was thinking to accept it, which I did but they are payin me only 80 cents more than what I was getting before. So, I talked with the HR about it and they said that we are giving only this much for the leaders for now, and many other reasons which I thought is okey, but now they are talking about it with everyone. Even the owner of store mention that I was asking for raise in meeting, and she said it is more about opportunity than money.
Did I do something wrong or the way of asking raise is not professional? I need to clear my mind.
TLDR
Everyone in higher level is talking that I asked for raised which is only 80 cents more than what I was getting. In the role that they are providing, we have to do a lot from managing shift, food safety, quality, SOS and labor.
Edit :- sorry for grammar
Title. I work DT drink sometimes and there would be some orders like that.
I’ve been training for morning shift lead for about two weeks and already trained on night shift. Today is my fourth time on morning shift and we had a horrible breakfast rush to the point where there was literally nothing like no breakfast, no drinks, it was really awful.
I was helping out till a customer comes up to register and starts raising her voice towards my team member so I go up and ask what happened. She’s angry that her order was taking forever and that she had somewhere to be. I apologize since we were holding on so much and about the wait, asked for her mobile order name and checked, and saw her name wasn’t pushed through the system.
I push it through manually and explained to her that sometimes the app doesn’t work but it went through. I asked kitchen how much longer on breakfast and they responded 2 minutes. I told her how long it’d be and She starts yelling at me that she’s late, that she wants a full refund and tells me I’m the reason why her daughter won’t be eating till 2pm. I blankly looked at her and refund the order in front of her and go, I do apologize ma’am, here’s that refund. Then she goes, I want a manager. I went ahead to bag her order which was just a breakfast filet and gave it to her and was like “I am the manager, I apologize about the wait,” explained her AGAIN about how it wasn’t neither my fault or hers, just the app.
She continues yelling at me about how this is all what her daughter is gonna eat and I’m like “have a nice day”
I'm not exactly sure how to explain this, but I find it crazy to see so many of my co-workers being mentally drained and upset. People are expected to be upset sometimes, especially during the transition to college and the excessive amount of stress. Still, some of my co-workers have deep and twisted mindsets. I had a co-worker ordering their meal, and he almost burst into tears, potentially talking about taking their life just for simply having a bad day. It was at night, and unfortunately I never knew that got the chance to talk with him. There are other issues too like employees ignoring each other, drama (sometimes relationship issues), and saying things on the job that could easily get them fired (or in serious trouble). There's also been all sorts of issues regarding people talking smack to other people, and it makes the workplace feel less fun without the close bonding. I will say the management at my Chick-Fil-A is awesome, and they genuinely do want to help people improve their skills at Chick-Fil-A. They never yell or get angry. They always use constructive criticism, which helps a lot, and its helped me through some hard shifts.
The point I wanted to make from this is to always check up on people and to be nice to everyone. You really don't know what people go through in their personal lives. When I first joined, I thought it was a perfect workplace with zero issues or flaws, but the more I've worked, the more trouble I've noticed. It happens in every business and in real life. I've had a really hard few weeks with school and with my personal life, but my co-workers have helped me bounce back into a good state of mind.
So recently I interviewed for Shift Lead. I was told that they will offer me Team Member with a 60-day evaluation period. How do ace this 60 days? I need some advice as I was never a shift lead before and I actually do want to become one. I am a 17 year old in high school. I still need to get trained on MASTERING bagging and doing all the closing tasks. Advice would greatly be appreciated 🙏
The store in my town is FINALLY opening in about a week. Is there anything cool about grand opening that I should know??? I’m so freaking excited!!!!
A new Chick-fil-A location opened up just today where I live. Currently I work at Walmart for 14 an hour and honestly have started to hate the management at Walmart. I’m just turned 17 and wondered if it would be a good idea to work at a newly opened location? I would likely work in the front of house if I apply. If you can let me know as soon as possible I would appreciate it.
We have these "Potato, Waffle Fries V2" anyone knows what's new with it? I haven't read the patch notes...
At first sight I thought they were spicy Fries 😆
I've seen strange combinations that were honestly tasty. My personal favorite that I drink everyday is dr pepper and sweet tea. What's your fave?
Hey yall so I just had a co worker message me asking if I would be willing to trade shifts with her. I’m just confused on how this all works. Would I still come in on the day she’s asking to trade. And how does that work with payout? I’ve never done this before lol
I need advice on how to get faster on primary I need to know how to maintain a consistent pace because every time I'm on there I'm speeding up but I loose accuracy and in turn the presentation isn't the best ;which slows me down because I get self conscious and don't want something sent back because it wasn't presentable.( Primary= making sandwiches at my store)
I had my first infraction today, it was a disagreement with a coworker and I raised my voice in front of customers. I got 3 points for this, where 15 is termination, and I was brought back for a talk. After the talk I was asked to sign something, and was verbally told "this will not be for points" I believed him, got home, and saw three points in an email. Is this okay? I feel like the infraction warrants the points but I feel my manager was being irresponsible for having me sign something under different premises.
Hey one of my team members put canola oil into the spicy fryer instead of peanut oil. Does anyone know how to deal with this. I have never had this happen on a shift.
I’ve been working here for 3 weeks. The first week I had breaks. Mind you at the location I work at you must work a minimum of 5 hours to get a break. They keep scheduling me to work for 4 hours and 30 minutes each day just so I don’t have a break. ALSO, I do closing which is hella work. Like that’s ridiculous and im in Highschool btw
