EDIT: If y'all aren't going to comment actual empathy or constructive advice or a shared experience,do not bother commenting! Belittling me about my experience and how long I stayed yadda yadda,is the same kind of gaslighting I experienced in the work place and finally left because of it. I'm not flexing. I'm literally just trying to expose a company that claims to be a "great place to work". Get over yourselves 🙄
I worked for a Chick-fil-A in NJ for 8 years and all I got for all my time was good friends and my husband 😅 I started when I was 19, and I had been homeschooled my entire life up to that point. I was hired at minimum wage, and basically stayed at minimum wage even tho that went up over time. I was never promoted past entry level because management didn't like that I didn't constantly kiss their butts and "play by their rules" even tho my work ethic was great and I was fast and efficient at any task I was given. I even trained new hires and got no additional pay for that. I was also harassed and groomed by a horn-dog back of house employee after I first started and they didn't do anything about his behavior even tho they knew he was like that. He groomed me into giving him my number and Snapchat and he was demanding nudes, he would make sexual jokes at work to me and he tried ever trick in the book to get me to sleep with him. He got fired several months later for a completely unrelated reason. I stayed and eventually got over it and learned more and grew in my skills and knowledge and I made a lot of friends that I still have to this day. But management just kept getting shadier and shadier and they value favoritism over any actual skill or ethics when it comes to hiring people and/or hiring people BACK! I've observed them sweeping things under the rug for certain team leads and employees. They don't care about employees health and well-being even tho they act like they do. They don't actually care of people need hours to make enough money to pay rent, bills, college payments, etc. they will cut hours of you don't kiss their butts. I've been outside taking orders in the blistering heat (to the point where I felt like I was going to pass out and they didn't switch me out right away) to the actual below 10° freezing cold (when I was so frozen my entire body hurt and I couldn't really move or feel my fingers . I have a myriad of other things from my years of experience but these are just off the top of my head. Let me know if y'all want to know more.
I go to orientation and my first day is expected to be Tuesday
Worked a near 12-hour shift yesterday with NO BREAK. When I asked for one (after 7 hours of working ipos in 30-something degree weather) I was told no, because we were too busy. I mean, we were SLAMMED all day long, but you better believe all the team leads sat down and had their break!
Scheduled less than 8 hours dang
My first day is tomorrow and I have no idea what im doing. It’s my first job too. When I walk in, do I just stand there?? What am I expecting??
How do you guys stay warm when you have to work outside with no booths. ?
Looking for some long lasting work boots that are comfy for working in the back. Tired of having to by a new pair of walmart shoes every couple months.
So I just got my schedule for next week, normally it’ll say “foh training” this time it says “foh general” what does that mean? Am I done training? I haven’t even trained on the outside stuff yet.
Okay so I've seen some people say that they didn't pay for their uniform and others say that they have. In my case I was told I had to pay $50 upfront for the uniform (BOH; $45 for FOH people) and then now I see another -$50 deduction from my paycheck saying it's for the uniform. Has anyone else paid $100 for their BOH uniform??? Or am I just tripping and that's what it regularly costs???
There have only been two guests at FC since we opened (almost 2 hours ago)
DT is slow. We’re chilling. And getting bored.
But at least we get to adore this very merry delivery tape.
How is it at your store, if you’re working today?
This is my first time seeing a shift like this. Does that mean from 4:00 to 5:00 i have to be clocked out?
hi all!
i’ve noticed that i cannot work 5+ hours in these shoes i got from walmart a year ago (still my size), even with dr. schols insoles swapped in.
i walk with a heavier heel than most, and that’s where the pain REALLY radiates;
do any of you have good brand recommendations, that have aided the same issue? any advice would be helpful. thanks! :)
Our actual payday is thursday but those with “early pay” at my job usually get paid someone wednesday, I haven’t gotten paid yet.
maturing in your job at chick fil a is going from hating “big” cleaning exit tasks like dining room and bathroom to being ecstatic when you see them, LMAO
i’ll take dining room and bathrooms over front and back or coolers any day! is that just me?
Has anybody else started to use these thank you notes? (They’re available on the studio)
I’m loving them
How last minute can you place a catering order bc I was gonna place a catering order at my cfa and I was gonna use my employee discount as well.I have the event at 5 and I was gonna get the food at 3.Is that to last minute?Because on the website it says I can place a catering order 24 hours before your event.
I don’t like this change. Don’t make it harder than it has to be. Fix my fries.
The shout-Out box 🎀
This may be my first ever job, and I need all the tips o can get. I have so far done a video cover letter last night and this morning they sent me an interview request. It is for the front of house position.
Hi friends, I just started working at chick fil a and actually hate bagging. I want to get as proficient as possible with it and I was wondering what y'alls tips for bagging/window and staying caught up with that are if y'all have any?
Im just ranting. Ive only been here for a few months. Am I working too hard or something? I had a closing shift and I want to get out before my scheduled time. I was scheduled to close with a manager I usually don't close with and another closer I have never closed with alone. The other closer has been here for atleast 3yrs but they were so SLOW. It's not like they've never closed before. I assure you they've closed alot more than I have. I did 90% of the close!! We got out super late because of them. I don't yell at people. I have never used an angry tone when I talk to someone but I think I should have. Is our scheduled clock out time a suggestion?? I love this place and I wanna move up in the ranks. I guess I need to communicate and grow a backbone.
I'm not sure if it's just our store, but why do leaders get to abuse their power when there are conflicts or disagreements with coworkers? They can lie and get away with it, and everyone believes them without question. There's no investigation or mediation to resolve conflicts, which creates a hostile work environment. Team members become hesitant to speak up for fear of being terminated or having their hours cut. It's unfair to cut someone's hours over a disagreement. Leadership gets into arguments with other leaders, but their hours aren't cut. Why is there a double standard for team members?
Our store just got a 3rd breading table. What’s y’all’s opinions on it and has it brought you guys any difference in quality, speed or even speed?
"No. But can I have some ketchup?"
😐
We do, at least once a day. Earlier today we had an older lady asking for fresh fries. It was during breakfast hours, so we dropped fries just for her. She ended up calling the restaurant and complained that the fries were not fresh, and they were so hard, she couldn't even take a bite. I felt bad for her.
I personally don't like the new fries either. I think they taste bland. My store did a leadership fries taste test yesterday because of recent complaints.
You heard me
I'm doing some research and wondering what the most annoying confusing phrases other team members have run into.
Like "Chicken burrito" or "scrambled eggs" - Like those are just hashbrown scrambles with different things going on right?
Super interested to see what other weird phrasing people have run into.
