While all eyes are on Gukesh and the World Championship match there are many other tournaments going on currently or just got over.
Gukesh match continues to be on a cliff hanger. I feel this is getting harder for Gukesh but let's see.
Vidit is playing the London chess classics. Had a decent start but missed a really good chance to win and take co-lead against Micheal Adams yesterday.
Arjun is playing Qatar Masters and won the first round today. Fight for the FIDE Circuit point is heating up.
Nihal won the Presidents cup (ahead of likes of Nodirbek and Parham). He is playing the Qatar Masters as well and won the first round today.
Aravindh after his amazing performance at Chennai grand masters won both his games in German Bundesliga and is now gone up to 2726.
Pragg played a game in German Bundesliga and won it. Back to 2740. Also decent form at Tata steel Kolkata. he's getting back to form!
Meanwhile Vishy is back to top 10 in FIDE's December list, although he hasn't played much recently.

i was playing black and chose the slav defense White had a slight advantage during the opening In the middle game evaluation wasn't too bad but i was in trouble, defended nicely(for my rating bracket) and somehow steered the game into a rook endgame where i was better (-2.5) Then proceeded to lose the game🤡💔🧑
So due to black Friday sale (50 percent off), I decided to go for diamond membership, but I am not able to make payment. I have rupay debit card which probably doesn't allow international transaction and even when I try via paypal or google pay, they ask for cards only, so this same problem again. I have tried to contact their support team; they are yet to reply.
So, how can I buy the premium membership?
Is there any social media group for Chess players where players just chill and want to improve their game?
Currently India has 12 GMs in the top 100 which is the most from any country (Russia and America are close with 11, China - 8) but then their population is also a fraction of ours. We have so much potential and if we really want to develop a long lasting effect which will last for decades, we need more chess masters at all levels.
For comparision, In 1972, Out of top 40 players, 27 were from USSR. I understand this is not possible nowadays but we need at least 20-25 in the top 100.
Is there any chess club or community around Navi Mumbai or Mumbai where we can do meetups and play chess?
