Going through a lot of emotions at the same time
Didn’t see this posted here. A 3 hr interview with the world champ is something special.
Let me get straight to the point. I want to grow in chess. I used to play a lot 6-7 months ago, and at that time, my peak Elo was around 800+ (below average?). After watching Gukesh Dommaraju achieve the title at such a young age, it inspired me, and now I want to make a comeback. But I can’t seem to increase my Elo—I was stuck at that level before as well.
Is there any free course out there where I can learn and improve?
Also, is there any group chat for chess? If not, we could make one to keep our interest up.
Thanks
I just saw Ding's interview with Sagar Shah. He looked much more calm and actually a chill guy. Ding seems happier than ever after he lost his title to Gukesh Dommaraju. He did not seam happy and felt as if he was internally conflicted after winning WCC against nepo in 2022. Is it possible that he felt burdened by his WCC title? Is there a possibility that Ding plays as strong as he used to now that he is not the world champion?
(this image made me so happy man, no one would have guessed while taking this picture that one of those boys would actually go on to win the WC title)
Is it really true?
Im 19M , in med school . I waste a lot of time on my phone watching reels and yt when im not studying and this has also affected my studies and overall life basically . I want to get rid of this addiction and develop a hobby . I dont really have a hobby rn , so thats the main reason . Have been watching gotham chess since like a week or two . The only problem is i havent played even a single proper chess game in my life , mostly because of lack of exposure and was busy with other things later on in life . So i was just playing chess with ChatGPT just for timepass and after some moves it was confused where all its pieces were there, I corrected it once still made a same mistake so I just asked tell me position of all pieces, guess what it told me. It placed bishop and rook on same position even it didn't know that I captured one of its knight before I corrected it....sorry about quality of image
I wanted to know who all will be there in the next candidates?
Those who played the candidates would remain there or is there anyone from the previous who has been eliminated?
I know a little about FIDE circuit.
I know there is lot of time for this but just wanted to know the process.
I'm a chess noob and want to improve my game and looking to sign up to ChessDotCom membership for the game analysis and inputs. I've seen an offer during FIDE tournament stream but I couldn't grab it at that moment. Do you have any idea of the offer that I can apply to get the membership in a discounted price?
Also looking for chess players to play with voice chat and join any chess groups to improve my game.
