Wahey, it's late, it's Tuesday night what's going on? Why are you still up? Being the family taxi driver? Too much cheese before bed?
Come on in for a chat.
I had one of those naff days where things just kept going a bit skew wiff.
I got a parking fine for genuinely not even thinking about the ticket (one that I buy nearly every week).
I took the dog for a walk at what I thought was low tide. Timed walking past rocks wrong and got absolutely soaked. Probably ruined my new wellies.
Just realised my necklace was undone and the charm has gone. I can’t find it anywhere. It’s the sentimental value that’s upset me about this.
Obviously these are all minor problems to have but I just thought why does it always come in threes.
Anyone else having - just one of those days?
4 of us and a baby went out for a nice meal this evening. After 45 mins of no food I checked in to see what was going on. They hadn't put the order through so had to re order all over again. At the end of the meal the manager came over and said the entire bill was comped! Was quite surprised as only expected the usual discount or free desserts kind of thing. Anyone ever had similar? This was in a nice restaurant too, probably £200 bill.
He is 10 and has ASD. He took this very seriously!
1 - Tesco, although I disagreed, apparently they do the best plain ham on white bread sandwich 🤷🏽♀️. And their accompaniment selection is far superior!
2 - Boots, this would have been number one but they always run out of sandwiches that he likes! Even though the actual sandwich is better than Tesco, he’d rather have a sandwich than not have one! Plus, the accompaniments aren’t great.
3 - Sainsbury’s. Solid plain ham on white bread sandwich and standard accompaniments!
4 - Asda, the only place he likes the Tuna sandwiches! Doesn’t mind the ham and they have a good selection.
5 - Coop, worst meal deal selection available, wouldn’t even bother 🤣🤣. Said he would rather get a sandwich from the petrol station! Haha!!
Morrisons wasn’t worth mentioning apparently
There you have it! 🥪
Edited to add some more info based on comments
Apart from excess alcohol, what else is still a tradition?
Turkey or goose, oranges or playstations, holly or that other girl.
Doesn't help that the boss is away for a couple of days and I'm watching the place on my own . There's no slope or indentation it just tipped from the look of it... Spooky
Currently on a train, two strangers opposite both male, one around 75, the other 25-ish. Within 5 mins of meeting each other they were talking about a prostrate operation. This is what I like about England 🇬🇧
Need some help chaps.
There’s a care home near to where I work that look after disabled children and adults. They’re a small, private company, seems to me there’s only 10-15 staff members.
I’m looking to spend a couple of hundred (more or less, not fussed) on gifts for the staff. Thinking of making an order from Asda and just asking them to deliver it to them or I drop it off before opening hours.
I’m thinking chocolate and bottles of wine so far but struggling to think of other things I could buy? Any help would be appreciated. Direct from Asda would be better.
At Christmas time during the 90s and I believe early 00s my Dad always used to buy these chocolate truffles, I recall they came in a red / black packaging and the truffles themselves had a chocolate sprinkles type of coating. I cannot remember what the brand was nor can I find a picture or if they even still exist. Has anyone got a clue what they were / are? I’m sure they used to appear in BHS also.
Electrician agreed to a job, “No probs see you Monday morning was his last message”. Well Monday morning came and went. Tried to call and text once each on Monday afternoon with no response, and here we are on Tuesday with nothing.
When do I accept that he’s just not that into me and I should move on and find someone better?I know there’s other fish out there for me but is it impolite to get back into the game so soon?
I live in an old mill but in a tiny flat. Got lots of space up in the rafters, but ground space is at a premium. Probably got too much furniture but some of it came with the flat and the rest I need for storage.
This is a problem.
Wondering about upside down or "floating" Christmas trees. Has anybody tried ANYTHING like this? Or does anybody have any advice if I were to try it? All I can think of is some wire, and a "tree" that doesn't rely on gravity to stay together (so it comes in one part).
I've seen the portal thing. Again, a no go as no ground space so I've come to raid your imaginations!
EDIT: Thank you alllll so far and in advance! I'm learning much and getting all kinds of ideas. Currently half decided on an upside down full tree cut in half lengthways for multiple rooms as a way of worshipping Krampus.
Morning all. What TV shows and/or movies have you been watching this week? Have you enjoyed them? Come in and tell us all about it.
It's the chat thread! A general thread to tell us about something you've seen or learned today. Nature pictures welcome, making me a coffee is also welcome.
Come in and have a chat.
I moved to the UK a couple of years ago from a first world country to study.
It took me a couple of month to realize that I haven’t been stung by a mosquito since I got here. Actually, I haven’t even seen a mosquito in the past two years.
This is SUCH AN UNDERRATED part about the UK. You don’t know how shit summer is when you constantly encounter mosquitos and get bitten daily no matter what.
And it’s not just where I live (Manchester). I spent the whole summer in London and haven’t seen a single mosquito.
I like the UK but this aspect made me love this country.
Wahey, it's late, it's Monday night. What's going on mate, why are you still up? Doing the night shift? Watching some TV? In a different time zone?
Come on in for a chat!
I’m applying for the role, no idea what to expect. Is it worth it? My aim is to earn decent money and keep fit by walking. Is the job worth it or is it something I may regret? I currently wfh in a call centre.
