Gracie welcomed Kodiak into her house within minutes of meeting him. She smelled me, looked for Momma A, and saw Kodiak when Momma A got out of the car holding him. Once he was on the ground they smelled each other and had a short standoff. Then Gracie zoomied around and repeated this process a few times. Within a few hours Gracie was sharing sticks and toys with him. The next day they were playing tug of war! This was by far the easiest Introduction of a new member into the family. Gracie has been a near perfect puppy and is a near perfect big sister! Kodiak is lucky to have Gracie to share his life with!
Hi all, I have to bring our OEB to the vet tomorrow for a probable UTI. Any chance anyone knows what the normal protocol for this is to get rid of them to prepare me?
Pic to express both her and my frustration with indoor accidents 🫠
my brother and sister in law bought an XL bully puppy from a friend a few years ago. Raised the puppy as a family dog along with my two baby nephews.
Since the ban a few months ago they have failed to take any of the precautions to not have her seized. she’s unregistered, isn’t chipped, isn’t neutered, and not even muzzle trained (bad I know)
In the last few months my sister in law has said that she cannot handle the dog anymore along with my nephews and wants to re-home her. she can be naughty, ripping open bin bags, peeing on the carpet, regular untrained dog behaviour NOT violence.
Obviously now it’s illegal to re-home an XL bully and it makes it all the more difficult that she’s unregistered. I would really like to help them find a good home for her where she will be loved and treated well but I’m unsure if it’s even possible at this point? Is there a chance we can re-home her safely? What are our options?
Whenever I have a bad day these days I just look at him sleeping. Adoptef this 7 year old a month ago.
My big chicken 😂 Now that he’s convinced himself this basket won’t kill him, he’s constantly going over there just to hang out with the lid on his head. Most of the time he doesn’t even grab a toy!!
He’s too funny. Moving a chair? Terrifying. Fireworks? Doesn’t phase him at all. He’ll go outside and hang out in the yard…. Make it make sense, lol.
I know that Bulldogs overheat easily and I live in California where it’s still warm even when it’s cold. Right now it’s 77 degrees in my house and my boy is panting. What’s a comfortable temperature I should keep my house at? Looks like I’ll be using the AC soon.
We usually do daily cleaning with wipes and then follow it up with wrinkle cream. Looks like that ain’t cutting it anymore. He doesn’t seem bothered by it, but it doesn’t look good. Anyway to get this under control? Thanks
We are approaching the three month old mark and just wondering when the hand/ankle biting will subside. I see around 6 months old for a lot of puppies. We follow all of the typical training advice to discourage it. We love our little guy and can’t wait to spend more quality time where he’s not latching onto our skin!
I come to you folks out of desperation. Our rescue Lulu so badly hates getting her nails cut. She is usually so gentle and sweet, but when it comes to trimming her nails, it always results in her seeing red and trying to bite. It breaks our hearts!
We have tried so many methods. We have tried distracting her with toys and treats. Had a team of vet techs and groomers with clippers or grinders do it (unfortunately by physically restraining her) and we’ve tried a grooming hammock but she gets scared/ angry and flails out of it. We don’t want to hurt ourselves, vets/ groomers, or especially her.
We have tried walks on pavement, but she’s such a lazy potato and that takes ages. We haven’t tried a scratch pad, we are looking into that option now.
Are there any other options that we are missing? Thanks in advance!
He knows not to mess with the cat.
