Color temperature keeps changing when I use hdr

Recently I got a new monitor Lenovo g24-20 and this all started when I turned on hdr. It will be functioning as per usual then after using it, at random times a slight flicker will happen and the color temperature changes to warm. And it doesn't change back unless I turn hdr off and on again. Any fixes on this?

Looking for two monitors for work and gaming

Short version: looking for a gaming monitor (i.e. more than 60hz), which also has a usb-c port with power delivery 90 watts.

Hi, I would like to buy two monitors to play games on my PS5 at home but also to work in my home office. So far I had the Dell P2720DC. This allowed me to connect my ps5 via hdmi and my laptop via usb c power delivery 90 watts. This meant that when I connected a laptop, I could transfer the image to the monitor and charge the laptop at the same time. I would like to keep it that way, but I just can't find a gaming monitor with usb c PD 90 watts. The only one I have found is the HP Omen 27k with usb c, but without power delivery. Please help

Is my main monitor a lost cause? Has spots that are darker than others it seems and dark overall I’ve messed with brightness already. Comparison to my second monitor I use for tabs.

Looking for fairly specific specs

I am looking for a monitor with fairly specific specs. I have been having trouble locating what I’m looking for, and was wondering if any of you know of the specific monitor I should buy, or which brand would be most likely to have what I’m looking for. The specs are as follows:

34"-38"

Curved 1000R (but 1800R could be okay)

Brightness = 400nits to 1000nits (because office can be sunny)

Panel tech: VA has higher CONTRAST than IPS above (3000:1 vs 1000:1). Higher contrast would be better but I am not sure how necessary.

Could we get the same monitor as above with VA panel? (IE, 1000R, 1ms resp time, 34" Curved, 450nits+, 165Hz)

Refresh rate: 144Hz minimum (not sure how much this really matters for my purposes)

Need to be able to to attach to HumanScale dual arm monitor holder

Weird border light on VA monitor (not backlight bleed)

I've recently purchased an AOC U32P2 and I've noticed those weird borders around the whole screen. It's not visible on black (so I suppose it's not backlight bleed), only on slightly darker colors (e.g. gray, as in the pics). What is it? Will it fade over time? Should I file a complaint?

Any recommendations for monitor arms?

I want to have an 34” ultrawide right above my main ultrawide that sits on my desk. I need a desk mounted arm that can extend at least 20” from the wall and the height needs to be at least 30” to clear the height of my main monitor. Any recommendations?

AOC 24G2Z or 24G4

Been looking at these 2 monitors and not sure which one to get. Working on a fairly tight budget here but looking at the 24G2Z it seems fairly tempting. Any opinions?

Advice needed! Dell 32” UHD 60hz vs. 27” QHD 100hz for work?

I’m debating between S3221QS and S2725DS.

S3221QS: https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-32-curved-4k-uhd-monitor-s3221qs/apd/210-axkm/monitors-monitor-accessories

S2725DS: https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/cty/apd/210-bmhc

I usually work with two windows on side by side, so I like a longer monitor. I’ve used a 27” so far and the size was good enough.

I usually use MS Office tools for work and I often watch webinars.

I’ve read that UHD/4k is good for 32” and QHD is good for 27”, thus chose these two models. Should I go for a bigger one with 60hz or smaller one with 100hz for my work? I’m not sure if it makes a big difference for my job. What do you think?

Refurbished eizo or new one

At home I have eizo ev2750 almost 7 years and very satisfied with it. I thought to buy second refurbished one for 200€, which can have some signs on screen or case. But I was thinking also to buy new one, but it costs more +300€. What would you suggest?

Any monitor that lasts a long time?

I've gone through a few monitors which all broke within a year or few months. I had enough and I knew this was the right place to come to.

I have a tight budget of $150, but I have seen certain brands like Koorui and Gawfolk, who offer pretty good deals for monitors.

I am looking into Koorui : KOORUI 22 Inch Computer Gaming Monitor, FHD 1080P Desktop Display with 2 Speakers, 100HZ Ultra Thin Bezel/Eye Care/Ergonomic Tilt, HDMI VGA Ports LED Monitor for PC, VESA Mounting : Amazon.ca: Electronics and Gawfolk: Gawfolk 24 inch Curved Computer Monitor 180Hz,/165Hz Gaming Monitor Full HD 1080P, Frameless 2800R Computer Screen with Eye-Care Technology, VA Display 100% sRGB, with HDMI, DP Ports,VESA Compatible : Amazon.ca: Electronics

If anyone can help out, it would be greatly appreciated.

My eyes hurt after 1h on my main monitor and they never hurt on my macbook

Hi I have 2 monitors. One is my main LG 29" 21:9 UltraWide™ IPS LED 29WL50S-B and the other is my built-in macbook air m1 2020. Usually after 1 hour in front of the LG in the evening/night my eyes hurt. And the same thing never happened while doing staff on macbook, I can sit 8h straight in the night and it will all be fine.

Both are IPS LED and have the same contrast ratio of around 1000:1. The maximum brightness is 400 nits on the Macbook versus 250 on the LG, but I don't think that matters. The biggest difference is the resolution. The refresh rate is similar: 60Hz on the Macbook and 75Hz on the LG. The Macbook is 13" 2560:1600, which is 225ppi. The LG is 29" 2560:1080, which is 96ppi. This is the only significant difference between the two monitors.

I recently changed my glasses to ones with a special lens for screens, but that didn't help either. I use eye drops and Maculoft (eye drops contain some vitamins), which helped a little.

I've tried changing the settings on my screen, but it hasn't helped much. Now I have 65% contrast and 45% brightness.

I really don't know what to do next. I don't know what the problem is. I can change the monitor, but I need to make sure I get a good one this time.

What gamma do monitor/screen brands actually target? (like Apple, Samsung, LG, etc)

2.2 is appereantly the standard for sRGB and Display P3, but some sources (and my own testing) says at least Apple targets for 2.4 gamma, or more. However, when I calibrate my monitors using Spyder X2 Elite with 2.4 target, the grays still seem way lighter than what the monitor’s built-in calibrated profile looks like and what my iPad or Galaxy for example look like.

Does anyone know what do these brands actually target for consumer devices?

New KTC owner (KTC27T20)

Hi

Recently buy new setup and therefore bought a brand new monitor. The KTC 27T20. I wanted to update it. (Thing that perhaps I should not have done). This is my first time trying to update a monitor. I think I didn't have all the information required to be able to do this. And since that day, my monitor no longer turns on. My english is bad, so I may have followed the procedure incorrectly.

First, after taking a step back. I think my monitor probably had the latest firmware installed and that the one I wanted to install must have corrupted the monitor.
Secondly, I may have followed the steps incorrectly. From what I understood according to the instructions. We have to let the program update itself. Then when we saw the “success” message then the monitor turned off on its own. It had to be unplugged and then plugged back in. That what I did.
But since that. When I plug my monitor back into the power outlet. My monitor won't even turn on anymore. As if it was no longer powered by the adapter.

I tried to contact the monitor manufacturer on Whatsapp and Facebook. I got a response on FB telling me that I should contact them by email and that I would get a response from them there. I've been waiting for their response for a week and a half already. I went back to Facebook to ask them what was wrong with tracking my request. The person behind the KTC profile on Facebook ghosts me. That is to say that he reads my messages and does not respond to them.

I also tried contacting the seller, where I purchased the monitor. I got an answer. They asked me to do a video test so that their technical experts could determine the issue. And according to them it comes from the adapter and they want to send me a new one.
You will tell me that I have nothing to lose but to accept the new adapter. Except that it's quite complicated in my condition. I bought the monitor during a promotion on a site. Except that this site does not deliver where I live directly. So, I had to pay a delivery company to deliver to my countrie (I am French and I ordered from France. Except that I live in the DOM/TOM). Which means I'll have to do the same for the new adapter. And if the problem is not with the adapter. I would have paid for its delivery for nothing. T-T
But I have a doubt that the firmware would have simply damaged the monitor adapter. lol

LG UltraGear FHD 27-Inch Gaming Monitor 27GN800-B - Monitor drops to 60hz when playing games

Hello! I've been using two of these LG Monitors and recently started trying to calibrate my display settings to utilize HDR. I've paired the monitors with these display port cables, but have noticed that when running a game with enabled HDR the monitor drops down to a 60hz refresh rate. I want to say the issue is the cable, but I am unfamiliar with how to confirm and source out an appropriate cable for my monitor setup.

Any info or resources would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Please advise, getting a new monitor for my new PC.

I'm coming from 1080p 24" atm.

Recently upgraded to a 4070ti super and want a monitor to match. I would like to try a curved 21:9, but I am concerned with quality.

VG34VQL3A: 34" 3440x1440 180 Hz VA.

34" seems a bit large, will the PPI be massively diluted because of that? Also, I'm a bit concerned with it being a VA model. Everyone seems to recommend IPS.. but I can't seem to find a lot of curved IPS monitors. Are they rare? Am I looking in the wrong places?

I am considering going for the Alienware instead:

AW3225QF: 32" 3840x2160 240 Hz QD-OLED.

Do I have to go with this one to get a much better screen? Can my current computer comfortably run the 4k?.. and is burn-in still an issue with OLEDs? I play MMOs for many, many hours at a time so I have concerns with that.

4k Monitor for console gaming

Hello everyone!

I'm looking to switch from my TV to a monitor for gaming, but I'm on a tight budget and having trouble deciding.

I game on an Xbox Series X, so my requirements are 4K and 60Hz, as most games I play don't utilize 120fps. However, I've noticed that many brands (such as LG, Samsung, and Asus) primarily produce gaming monitors with higher refresh rates, resulting in higher prices. On the other hand, their non-gaming monitors are typically much cheaper and still offer 4K 60Hz, but I'm unsure if they're suitable for gaming.

My budget is a maximum of €500.

For gaming monitors, I'm considering:

  • Odyssey G7 G70B UHD 4K 144Hz Smart Gaming Monitor - LS28BG700EPXEN (€510, slightly over budget but might be acceptable)

Non-gaming monitors I've looked into include:

  • Samsung UR55 4K UHD-LU28R550UQPXEN (€250)

  • Samsung ViewFinity S7 S70A UHD 4K Monitor - LS27A700NWPXEN (€250)

  • LG Class 4K UHD IPS LED HDR Monitor-27UL550P-W (€250)

  • LG UHD 4K monitor VESA DisplayHDR™ 400-27UP85NP-W (€340)

I really don’t want to spend too much on a gaming monitor, but I'm concerned that the cheaper options might not meet my expectations.

What do you guys suggest?

Need help finding an upgrade!

Hey everyone - I am a photographer/videographer and gamer. (I know, couldn't be any worse for monitor choice!)

Back in 2013 when I built my setup. I purchased 3x ASUS VG248QE, and loved the 144hz life! I wasn't into photography back then and loved it, didn't care about the viewing angles or colour accuracy, just loved having a matching setup of 3 monitors but now 11 years on, these monitors are showing their age. Still all in good working order but some dead pixels here and there, some minor scuffs but mainly the colour accuracy is atrocious.

They are 24inch panels, thick borders and look aged, thick monitors and 1080p.

As a photographer, I really want to be able to see more pixel density in my photos, so I'm thinking 1440p because I don't have the bandwidth to run 3x 4K displays, and I want at east 144hz (not sure what the standard is these days, if it's gone up?) for when I'm gaming, and good colour accuracy.

I understand the panels now are IPS, OLED and VA while my old panel is TF panel (I think)?

I don't really have the money to spend on 3x monitors at £300 or £400 each, is there any GOAT monitors people suggest for this use case that can last me another 10-11 years?

Thanks all in advance!

First time IPS user, this normal?

Recent picked up the Sony Inzone M9 for my Ps5. The quality is great, but this weird glowing and white marks appearing and disappearing around brighter things on the screen is annoying. I don't have permanent bleeding spots on the corners like I see with other issues, but they come and go on the screen when something displays dark to suddenly bright.

I'm coming from an LG OLED, while both are good this seems to be a big issue (even though it is a rare occurrence, it's very distracting).

Dell 2724DE vs Dell 2724D

What are the advantages of choosing 2724DE over 2724D ?
Current price in my location:
Dell 2724DE - $474
Dell 2724D - $382
Is the thunderbolt hub worth it for a price bump of ~100 USD.

My igpu specifications:

Intel i5 10300H

Since both the 2724DE and 2724D run at 2560 x 1440 at120Hz Refresh rate, would the hdmi be limited to 60Hz ?
Would I be limited to run 2560 x 1440 at 120Hz only through Display Port ?

My laptop is a Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7 (GTX 1650).

PORTS

Could you please advise me on any potential concerns I should be aware of before making a purchase? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Dell G2724D vs AOC 24G2Z

As the title suggests, I am considering between these 2 monitors as they are about the same price and would like to know which one is better and the common issues relating to the 2 monitors

Usage: mainly media consumption and fps games like valo and cs

Dell G2724D Pros: 27 inch, better contrast ratio and colour accuracy, 1440p

AOC 24G2Z Pros: 240hz, faster response time

I would also like to know if the increase from 165hz (Dell) to 240hz (AOC) is worth the difference in colour accuracy and picture quality as i heard that the G2724D in general has better colour accuracy and picture quality

screen tearing when fps are capped at monitors hz

Screen tearing occurs when fps are capped at the hz of the monitor. I have been struggling with this problem for almost 2 years, I replaced almost all parts except the motherboard and still nothing.
my components:
motherboard: B450M DS3H-CF
processor: AMD Ryzen 5 5500
Ram: team group 16gb (2x8) 3200MHz CL16
power supply: endorfy vero L5 700W bronze 80 Plus bronze
graphics card: Palit RTX 3060 12GB
SSD: WD 1TB M.2 PCIe Gen4 NVMe Blue SN580
monitor: LG 24MR400-B 100hz

I have tried many repair attempts for example:
bios reset
reinstalling Windows multiple times

Screen tearing mainly occurs in Fortnite. When FPS is unlocked or set to a maximum of 200 FPS, the game is more responsive and smoother. The monitor is connected via HDMI. I want to solve the problem without using v-sync.
I want to solve my problem because stuttering occurs at higher fps.

Monitor for visual impairment

Hello.

I am visually impaired and searching for a new monitor to help me in my daily work. My current old LCD monitor is a pain.

There are my needs: • 24 inches • high brightness • good contrasts • very low glare (could be used in a bright room with white walls) • Pro brand (HP, Dell, Lenovo, Asus...) • HDMI ports • 4K or fullHD

I don't have any budget limit cause it will be purchased by the company I work for. Therefore, it won't be "gamer looking".

Thank you for your suggestions.
