Hello!
I have a problem with Firefox, because it doesnt shows subtitles in PiP, newest version 133.0
Hello, I have been trying different browsers almost every month for the last 5 months. I used these browsers for at least 5 hours a day. I also tried almost every browser if they were synchronized on iOS, Windows and my Macbook devices. I am not a highly technical person. But I wanted to push a browser to almost every level I could. Therefore, you may already know most of the things in this article.
Arc Browser: I used it for 1 month due to the recent security vulnerability and then not working as I wanted on Windows. It is very nice in terms of design, but since it is chromium-based, it eats up at least as much RAM as Chrome. I did not encounter any problems on Macbook; however, if you insist on using the tabs at the top like me, you may have difficulty. Arc Search: I think it may be one of the fastest browsers on iOS, at least for me.
Mozilla Firefox: I love everything about it. However, as we all know, it is quite slow compared to other browsers. Privacy and Adblock are very important to me, that is where it comes in handy. After its latest update (maybe I observed it wrongly), it started to eat a lot of RAM, I can't stop it. I am writing this article using Firefox on a Macbook, but I still have a RAM problem here. On iOS, the browser is extremely slow.
Brave Browser: Another Chromium-based browser. It freezes incredibly on Macbook, at least on me. I couldn't stop it. On iOS, it is not very fast, but it is passable. I think it is stable and fast on Windows, but I have some questions here: for example, Google Pay did not work at all. It could not block ads on some sites where simple adblockers can be used.
Zen Browser: It uses the Firefox infrastructure; not having a mobile version is a big deficiency, but although it is still in Beta, there are a lot of bugs. These need to be solved.
Edge: I could never figure out whether it is good or bad. I have never used it on a Macbook. On iOS, it is extremely complicated and incompatible. On Windows, it can use a lot of RAM instantly. I can see this in a few tabs.
Opera: I don't know what to say. I could only last 4 days because it froze constantly. So I gave up.
Chrome: I use 16gb ram on my computer. But I never used it because everyone said it ate too much RAM.
It's also bad that adblockers won't work after v3. I also used the following add-ons on all browsers:
Frankly, I still don't have a clear browser. I continue to use Safari on iOS because adblockers work very well. I still have Mozilla on Macbook. On Windows, although it has Mozilla, I need something else: it should be fast and secure. I really want to switch to a browser that is fast and doesn't eat too much RAM and spend my years with it.
As the browser is by far my most used app, I find that bookmarking the current tab and describing the task with no more than a few words or even as little as a few chars, to be a good way to keep track of what things I need to do soon. For things I would get to later or whenever I feel like it, I'll put them in Firefox's "Boookmarks Menu" or "Other Bookmarks" folders, and have lots of folders consisting of Reddit posts and searches about different topics.
Hey, so I've used 3 browsers all my life with the most being Chrome
But recently, I'll be getting a new computer soon and I can't pick between Opera GX and Chrome, the deal breaker is which runs faster and the pros and cons of both. (I heard people saying opera is both good and others bad)
I have most of my settings and stuff from Chrome, can I import it to Opera GX or do I have to put all my passwords and bookmarks again?
I already use Vivaldi on desktop and i LOVE it, so since i saw that it's on iOS too and i had a meh experience with Orion, do you think it's worth it on iOS
Hi!
So I collect Hello Kitty pins, and some are only released in certain countries. Is there a good way to search other countries’ shopping sites to find them?
Ideally, it would be great if I didn’t have to type in a country each time, as sometimes I don’t know if something has been released somewhere.
I’ve previously tried to use google’s advanced search, and changing the location, but that honestly hasn’t done much (not surprisingly).
Do I need a VPN? I honestly have no idea, so any advice is appreciated!
I don't care about privacy at all. I just want the smoothest, most energy efficient browser that's suitable for web development work.
Why shouldnt we use Chrome for example? Many people say google collects alot of data through chrome, it invades your privacy alot blablabla. But why do people care so much specifically about chrome? We are using WhatsApp, Instagram, Android, Game Consoles etc. All collecting your data. What difference does it make if we use Brave or Firefox instead? Why shouldnt i use Chrome?
It may sound dumb. But I want to by watching YouTube videos in browsers with adblock, how much I reduce their income? Sometimes I really feel guilty for it.
The Windows taskbar doesn't show when Firefox is open, but it shows with any other program.
I have Windows 11.
Is it only me, or anybody else has this problem?
I currently use macOS, Windows 11 and Linux - all on different machines for different tasks. I’m looking for a browser that will work on all of these eco systems. Bonus points for also working on both android and iOS (but not a deal breaker) I am currently using Arc but it has no Linux support. I like having everything synced so I can pick up where I left off if I need to. I like my privacy, and am willing to tweak a browser to get to where I want in all honesty. I also like consuming content in HDR where I can. What’s out there for me?
Got any?
I have a program that I am trying to record audio from. It has recently changed to where it ONLY allows audio from tabs. I would love to find some way to output the audio on OBS for instance to a browser tab, so I could tell the browser extension/program to record from that tab.
If it helps, ultimately I'm trying to record a Zoom meeting and an in-person mic - which I have all combined into OBS - that I could easily output to a program if it didn't just read tabs. Any advice is helpful. Thanks.
Do you use them daily? For productivity? Privacy?
I’ve noticed that most people in this sub use extensions for:
If you had (or already have) those features natively integrated in your browser, would you miss something else? Something irreplaceable?
I wonder because of browsers like DuckDuckGo without extensions, but with privacy tools integrated. Is it useful for you? (if it’s your number 1 browser)
I just switched to the Vivaldi browser, now which search engine should I use?
I prefer Opera GX level customisation also FireFox level & I’m not a multiple browser type a guy.. any recommendations would be nice.. thank you
I use vivaldi for my main everything browser because it's what I grew up with.
Now I also watch youtube with Firefox since adblockers no longer work on chromium browsers.
And recently I've been using microsoft edge for pdfs because it has an amazing pdf reader compared to all the other browsers.
What did Firefox do?
I need fast browser please:)
I use firefox on my laptop and my phone. Some site not work on my laptop but the same site work on my phone. It's the same for some pictures. The laptop is connected via an hotspot on my mobile.
update : problem solved
Which is better duckduckgo or brave? Does Duckduckgo still have Microsoft trackers? Is Duckduckgo still really more private than brave? Which is more worth it?
I'm not talking about just incognito or anything, but like an entire separate browser with it's own bookmarks and tabs that can preferably be locked behind a password. I'm fed up with Samsung Internet's lack of working adblock so I was wondering if any other browser has anything similar
And is there any way i can change my speed dials in firefox to only do fixed shortcuts instead of random tabs i visited?
After Google finally pulling the cord on Manifest V2, i need a browser (firefox [gecko] based) for daily use, and a chromium based one as second browser (with adblock/ublock if possible).
I am currently using Firefox and Brave, but firefox is giving me a lot of problems with a couple of sites, where even on standard or strict protection they take 10-15 mins just to load (not a problem with my wifi - constantly having a 100mbps speed)
As of 30/11/24, the site search functionality in Arc Browser still doesn't work. Since previous Reddit discussions about this have been archived, I decided to create a solution.
I've developed a userscript that implements site search functionality quickly and efficiently. While I initially made it for personal use (with shortcuts and search engines configured to my preferences), it's easily modifiable to suit your needs.
How to use:
**Note:** There is a minor issue mentioned in the script description - please read through it before installing.

I've been having this issue where the browser has this one task that takes up a lot of memory. The browser still operates normally after I erase it, and it doesn't appear again until I reopen the browser. What is this?
