So I'm a transit nerd and am putting together a big map where I'm posting transit cards for every city I've been to and used their public transit. I've visited Boston many times (and am a big fan of the T!) but I lost my Charlie Card from the last time I was there. If anyone has a spare one lying around they would be willing to mail me I can venmo you postage plus a few bucks for your trouble.

You can use any desk surface from ikea or other furniture store with these.

I've also got a basic white desktop that you're welcome to take for free with the legs, however the condition of the desktop is worse than the legs, it is a bit bowed and the trim is flaking off on one side.

Looking for Magic the Gathering card collections to acquire, sort through, and donate

My partner and I recently have been enjoying sorting through some old mtg collections we have acquired with the intent to donate the bulk to either existing after school programs or maybe set up our own to teach kids about trading card games. If anyone has old collections they would like to sell or pass on to us, please comment or contact me.

Full disclosure, especially in the case of sales we will sort through the cards for high value pieces to add to our personal collection. I would like to keep any collections given to us because we are donating the bulk more intact out of respect for the intended donation; however, as you are giving them to us first and we are collectors we will sort through them for uniquely rare cards or anything of very high value. If we find anything worth a lot of money we will contact the donator and offer to buy the card or split the profit made if the card is sold, as it is not our intention to take advantage of anyone.

We have a car, so if you would like to sell or pass on cards to us we can come collect them from you. My only ask is that you be transparent, especially in the case of sales, about your handling of the collection and what it might contain. If you have removed all the rare and high value cards to just get rid of the bulk, please tell us. If you have no idea what your collection contains or what you have that’s valuable, we can take a look and find a fair price.

On Saturday, May 18, for the fourteenth year in a row, the two neighborhoods of Sawyer Hill EcoVillage in Berlin, Massachusetts, will be celebrating Give Your Stuff Away Day (an international environmental holiday). We do it by, well, giving away stuff -- toys, clothes, books/media, electronics, cookware, housewares, furniture -- basically anything you might find at a multifamily yard sale, but all totally free!

I am looking for a few new clients with good knives that need them either tuned up (sharpened) or completely re-profiled.

All knives will hand sharpen on high end Japanese whetstones or on a guided sharpener such as the Wicked Edge or TSProf depending on knife and condition.

Why choose me:

I am a high-end home chef and kitchen knife enthusiast with decades of experience sharpening German and Japanese knives to scalpel sharp edges (up to 20,000 grit then polishes down to .05 micron). I have been doing for friends and family for decades and know what I am doing.

Your knives will be sharpened then put on a leather strop using a diamond emulsion to further enhance the polish of the bevel, as well as remove any of residual burr.

The Process

I will take the time to discuss how you use your specific knives. Be it for rocking or push cutting and what type of product you’re cutting with them to determine what the best angle for your usage is.

Sharpening pricing:

Small (under 4") - $15 Large (upto 280mm) - $25

Folding pocket knives – allmost any steel $15

Includes repair of normal wear but not for major damage such as a chunk of the edge torn out.

Most Resturant Chefs are happy with a 1000 grit finish, but I’ll go to 5000 to give your edge a nice shiny polish.

If you’d like a showcase mirror polish edge, I can do that as well and the fee will be determined based on blade size and steel, but will generally be in the $5-15 extra range. I may choose to mirror-polish one if you’d gratis because it’s a beautiful knives that I want to create a masterpiece out of!!

Up for sale I have an in great shape Eureka Silenzio espresso grinder with the mods to make it single dose and have no grind retention. It helps make excellent crema rich espresso. It does have a tiny scratch on the side toward the base that is not noticeable that occurred during a move but I just want to be transparent.
