Roger Schmidt

As a Benfica fan for 30 years, couch analysis and football fan in general, i strong suggest that u do some thing about this manager being Ur future couch. Doesnt know how to read the game, subs ONLY come on the picth at 80m, poor comunication, arrogant, the quality of the football that he practices are poor and In the end of the game he Will say "top game" "top performance".. call me a hater, Maybe i AM, i understand. I just feel sorry that you are acossiated with this person when i see that Dortmund fans love the club so much and dont desearve to have that gentleman as managar. Good luck ;)

What is your opinion on Sahin

today like this tomorrow like that

What has bothered me for a long time about the Dortmund leadership is the lack of backbone. Statements are made and then retracted. No one takes action or shows strength.

This was particularly evident in the cup game. In the summer it would be said that we are deliberately keeping the squad small in order to give our talented players more match practice.

In the cup, only 3 substitutions were made in 120 minutes. And instead of using the same position, players like Groß or Can (who were not convincing in their comfortable position in the league) were used for the defense.

the core cast is worn out to the limit. Mane, Wätjen and Kabar only play if there really is no other option. Sahin would probably substitute himself.

This is not a Sahin must go post. A Ricken or Kehl would have to draw the coach's attention to this and follow up.

I hope for the Saturday match, he starts with mane. And bring some other young talents. I mean, everyone is expecting a defeat anyway

Why didn’t Dortmund sign Ruben Amorim?

For a small fee of 10-15 million euros for him and his team, would that have been an astute signing for your team?

Knowing how it would play out, would you spend 30m on Malen again?

Seeing links of him away from Dortmund and at this point I doubt it’s for a profit

There's no point saying Sahin out, it won't happen.

Listen, I'll admit there are problems with him. I'm a pretty adamant Sahin defender but that's beyond the point, I'm aware that there are some things that I can't even defend, such as the Anton/Gittens substitution, or even just not subbing on Campbell for Malen earlier in the game yesterday. But it's been made clear by the board that Sahin's a project manager, he was never gonna be good right away. And sure, some of you may disagree with that, and you are completely within your rights to do that. There is a fair argument on the other side. But they won't fire a manager after 10 games, I'm not even sure they'll fire him at the end of the season if they keep this up. Right now, it's not entirely clear how much is his fault and how much is just unfortunate with the injury crisis. We didn't give Marco Rose the benefit of the doubt, and look at him now. Also, look at the season where we were 1 game away from winning the league. Where were we at the halfway point?

My goals for the season were top 4, a pokal run and a decent CL run. The Pokal run is gone. Top 4 looks more difficult now. We're still in a decent position in the CL. At this point, I don't trust that we're gonna reach any of these goals, but calling to fire the manager with no experience isn't gonna do anything, because whether we like it or not we're gonna let him get experience. Might be a different discussion at the end of the season, but we can't be so trigger-happy with firings. And we won't be. We've all pledged to be fans through thick and thin. I plan to continue that no matter what happens.

Heja BVB.

Echte Liebe, echte Probleme: BVB zwischen Schönreden und Krise

Hey zusammen,

Do you guys feel the management is a bit to obsessed with finding the new klopp?

One thing I was thinking recently with all the discussion was the aspect of klopp and the management's obsession with finding a new klopp in every coach we have appointed post him . It feels like the management only wants a klopp like manager even from coaches who are not like klopp and even buy them klopp players even if they don't want the player.

I was thinking after one terzic interview at espn where someone asked wether klopps shadow is loming around the club and I do feel in a way it does especially in upper management pov.

Why have we lost our ability to turn games around ?

In the past, we always used to be good at increasing the pressure at the later stages of a game to get a result. But it seems that we have lost this ability.

Since the beginning of 2024, our opponents have been able to get a lead in 13 games across all competitions. We have won 2 of these games and lost 11. (2-0-11)

What do you think are the reasons for this? (Fitness,Tactics,Mentality)

Random takes - hot and cold

Hot and cold takes, just needed to get it out for myself.

  1. Terzic out was the right decision. The football was ugly and there was a lot of luck involved reaching the CL final.
  2. Getting Sahin instead of Terzic was a statement what kind of football Dortmund wants to play: And this is a more ball dominant playstyle like Bayern, Stuttgart, Leverkusen, City, Barca, Germany etc.
  3. Mind blowing: you can not like Terzic and think appointing an inexperienced coach is a mistake all at the same time
  4. To everyone wanting Terzic back, we had the same struggles the last two years in autumn.
  5. A new management that wants to prove itself paired with an inexperienced coach who needs time is a bad idea
  6. Kehl's transfers were good on paper. A lot of the bad transfers are bad because a) they were against his will (e.g. Nmecha), b) only bad in hindsight (Haller) or c) the coach was/is not getting the most out of them (couto, Beier).
  7. We didn't have a coach who made the squad more or even equal the sum of the individual parts in a long time, which puts Kehl's transfer in a worse light than they should.
  8. The salaries of Dortmund Players are unreasonably high.
  9. Brandt is inconsistent. I get downvoted for saying this every time after one of his 1 in 3 good matches.
  10. Getting rid of Hummels was a mistake. a) He could have facilitated with the transition to a new team. b) his skill set is perfect to be subbed in, e g. after a 2:0 lead c) he carried us a lot last season and d) we are lacking a CB
  11. The club not being able to handle an opinionated player like Hummels was a bad sign. #Wohlfühloase

Injury Updates (or lack thereof)

As per Ruhrnachrichten:

  • ❌ Adeyemi
  • ❌ Duranville
  • ❌ Reyna
  • ❌ Süle (all with long-term injuries, no return before the international break mid-November)
  • ❌ Ryerson (definitely out for Leipzig, no specific info released)
  • 🟠 Couto (highly unlikely to be available for Leipzig)
  • 🟡 Anton (hopes that he can play for a bit exist)
  • 🟡 Sabitzer (still injured, but hopes that he can play a bit again)

It's looking a wee bit grim, and not really getting any better.

Unpopular opinion

Having watched the game yesterday, I think Sahin should get more time and resources, here’s why:

  • Going forward there were glimpses of brilliance in the tactical set up we did not see under Terzic. The pass to Baier, the crosses to Guirassy, all very promising. There’s a tactical concept you may or may not like, but it’s becoming more visible every match.
  • In defending we were focused and almost without error. Although the actions were sometimes panicked and rushed, there were not many mistakes.
  • The staff is very limited in their options due to injuries atm, the situation can only improve on that front.

The trend is upwards, although it’s a shame we were kicked out yesterday, we still have two tournaments and 75% of a season to go, have faith!!

it's easy to say the coach is the problem.

He is young and he doesn't have much experience. He is also a great player of the Clubs history. IMO the most sympathetic coach of the club since Klopp.

His tactical knowledge is huge. But the team still has problems implementing it. Now you have to ask yourself, can he simply not transmit it or are there other reasons?

  • Because of the EURO, Sahin only had late access to the entire squad. (Guirassy was still injured at the start of the season.)

  • 8 notable players have left the club, only 5 have been replaced

  • In addition to the already packed schedule, there is an international break every 4 weeks. (a vicious circle, because either tactical training or fitness training falls by the wayside.)

I don't want to say that Sahin is doing everything right. The substitution against Real Madrid was more than questionable. And I regularly question decisions in other areas too.

But keep in mind Considering that so many players were injured, the game wasn't as bad as I expected at the beginning. and without Sahin, last season would have ended in disaster. The change came with him.

The claims that we shouldn’t have let Terzic go are revisionary.

I won’t be writing an essay here, just reminding you:

-We were genuinely excruciating to watch last season in the league, and often in the season before that, and ultimately we couldn’t win the league when the greatest opportunity we’ve had in the last decade arrived. A Dortmund manager should not play such a passive style of football, controversial as Sahin is, that’s what he is trying to change.

-He lost control of the dressing room at the end of his tenure. The blame’s not all on him, but you could tell the players didn’t respect him as much as they should respect a manager of a club like this.

-He could not integrate young players well either. In my opinion he is definitely somewhat responsible for wasting Mouki’s potential, but then he did stuff like subbing in Coulibaly in that 3-3 match against Stuttgart at half-time, who clearly was not ready.

That’s all I can write off the top of my head. Terzic’s sacking did make sense to me. The fact that we appointed Sahin might have been two steps backwards though.

This sub is insufferable

Are you all Fans since 2011?

Every day I read 10 posts about Nuri needing to be sacked.

He is not even here for half a year and you guys are talking the meanest shit there is.

Klopp didnt qualify for europe in his first season with us, he needed time.

Nuri asked for time aswell, but you all forget?

Last week we lost against REAL MADRID and you guys were out with pitchforkes xDDDDDDD

I feel like most of the people here should go to the Bayern Sub and jerk each other off there.

Nuri is one of the greatest in this club and he asked for time. If you cannot give a renowned and accomplished player of our club the time he asked for, than you should reevaluate what this club stands for.

I was screaming my lungs out when we got a point against bottom clubs, before Kloppo, before 2 CL Finals. You guys scream murder after we lost against fucking Real Madrid.

Give him time or piss off. If we dont make it into CL for one season, who the fuck cares? Money? Prestige?

Players leave the club even when we go to CL Final, so it doesnt matter anyway.
