Yo, I think the next VHs of BL4 are already known in BL3, at least for 3 of them: Lorelei, Clay and Ava (or Tanis), any theories on your side?
I did the armory glitch with a friend on Clean Sweep and messed up by triggering the second objective not realizing it breaks the mission. Can someone take me/us into the mission to fix it
I would also appreciate if I could get 1 or 2 end game weapons. Hit the box 200+ times between us and got a bunch of nuthin
I see a lot of posts on here of BL newcomers asking about the games, and I see "you can skip BL1" quite a lot.
BL1 was one of my finest gaming experiences ever. It was so different from anything I ever played before. Its so open, so lonely, so vast. The game does a great job of letting you know that it's just YOU out here. As soon as you get off the bus there is a strong vibe of "good luck, soldier, you're on your own".
If you skip BL1 you miss the introduction of some of the great NPC's of the series, such as Tannis, Scooter, Mister Blake, and a personal favorite of mine, T.K. Baha!
The DLC's were fantastic. Especially Zombie Island, the zombie craze was strong back then and the developers capitalized on it wonderfully. And the final boss battle in that DLC was amazing, IMO.
Saturn was a particularly favorite boss of mine because it was like fighting a cosmic Metal Gear, and me being a huge MGS fan, it tickled my fancy quite a bit.
Maybe I'm just nostalgic for this game because my buddy gave me a xbox360 and BL1 GOTY as a gift during the lowest point in my life when I had no money, no future, and an utterly shitty job. All I could do was work and play borderlands, and if it wasn't for that, I would have never earned the trust of a shy, timid kitty that lived in the party house I was at. I was the quiet member of the house while everyone was playing loud music and drinking on a regular basis. Eventually this kitty realized that my room was quiet and not filled with chaos, so she would leave her hiding spot under a bed in another room and come hang out in my lap as I played. She did not like people touching her but she happily fell asleep in my lap for 3 nights while I played. Roommates gf liked to collect animals but not take care of them, and I could tell kitty was happier with me, so I claimed her as mine and she's my best furry friend 8 years later. Her ears still perk up when she hears the drums and 2K being said when the start screen comes on, she knows that's the signal for "it's lap time with papa". But now I'm getting too personal.
If it wasn't for BL1 being what it was, and winning GOTY, we wouldn't have the juggernaut that is BL2, which also won GOTY, and the other subsequent entries in the series.
Is it not as well polished as BL2? Yes, but thats nowhere near enough reason to toss it by the wayside. And honestly, the story is better than BL3.
Newcomers, please don't skip BL1. You'll be doing yourself a massive disservice. Go to Pandora and experience BL for what it was meant to be, an insanely long adventure on a fucked up planet filled with surprises.

I’m playing through BL1 again and saw a Vengeance Pistol in a vending machine. I bought it for the bypass shields. Does it bypass physical shields or the “blue line” shields or both? Some of the lance in old heaven have a large shield that block my bullets. I use a corrosive shotgun on them with much success, but I could be further away if I could get through the physical shields.
Thanks
I'm talking about skills at their base level, without any of the improvements.
For me if I may say, I think this skill is bloodwing from mordecai.
Now, while I do think base bloodwing stinks, upgraded bloodwing is OP as hell.
It goes from 0 to 100 really fast.
im curious what the community thinks. So far i think lilith b1 , Maya/ Gunzerker bl2, Athena pre- sequel. unsure about bl3. Which vault hunters do you personally use if you want the game too feel "easy" ?
Should I buy borderlands 3 if I haven't played 1and 2?
I'm not suggesting this as a serious idea, but was curious what you'd think about it.
To have previous Vault Hunters as the playable characters for BL4, just with their skill trees updated/reworked. Since BL4 seems to be heading to a "culmination" point, a kind of final entry to the story. Rather than having 4-5 new characters show up and have such a big impact on the climax of the story.
Brick/Mordecai.
Zer0/Gaige/Sal/Axton (maybe Krieg, but I think his story had a satisfying conclusion in BL3.)
Timothy from TPS(I would also suggest Athena but I think she deserves to enjoy her retirement.)
And then all 4 VH's from BL3.
9 Vault Hunters is probably too many, but.. this is a hypothetical situation so that doesn't really matter.
Hello, I played recently Borderlands 3 with a friend, and I want to buy them all but I have a doubt, I got a fix discount on Pandora's Box on Steam of 39,78, I don't think it goes down from that, but black friday is coming so, has anyone saw Borderlands Pandoras Box low from that price? Does discount stack up? I know maybe is a hard question, but if someone knows I'll appreciate it
Hey guys, would anyone be able to help me out the achievement “and they’ll tell two friends” on the regular borderlands GOTY(pc) Thanks
Hey, I've come back to a Siren save, it's on Playthrough 2, and I'm dying ALOT. Everywhere I go, there's Superbad this or that enemies that kill me in a few shots.
I'm level 55 Location - Rust Commons West Quest - Up To Our Ears (Trivial!!!!)
Health - 910 Shield - 1707 Class Mod - Mercenary (SMG damage, ammo regen, +2 Girl Power)
What's going on? Am I screwed? I wanted to get started on DLC, but screw that.
I’m relatively new to the fandom, and have only played the first game thus far, but I was wondering how much (if any) story happened before the first game? I assume there’s stuff about the Eridians, the origins of the companies, the resident psychos, etc. but were there vault hunters before the original 4? Any who understood the vault prior to Dr. Tannis? If so, I’ll be looking forward to learning it
Borderlands 1 is a pretty crude game. It has it's charms and it was good when it was released, but now there's probably not a single aspect that makes it better than other games. Especially in terms of it's plot - the characters aren't memorable, boss fights aren't that interesting and engaging, but replaying it I realized one thing that makes it stand out.
In Borderlands 2, the game with probably the best story in the series, you are in a constant tight confrontation with an archvillain - wealthy and villainous megacharismatic CEO of megacorporation - Handsome Jack. You work through the world to stop him, and each step is you stopping your imminent demise.
In it's close contender for the best plot - Pre-Sequel, you play as a mercenary, hired by Jack to open the vault and throughout the game you follow him, pretty much the real protagonist and do whatever he asks of you.
Borderlands 3 has the same concept as two - you are in a constant chase to stop the villains who are always one step ahead.
These stories induce many feelings, but there's one that is missing. The one, that feels very present in the original. The feeling of adventure and exploration. You are a Vault Hunter. An adventurer, a daredevil, who doesn't seek the Vault to stop the great evil or to help people in need. You do it because you want it. So you start in the unfamiliar planet that lives whether you are there or not. And quests there are something the world's denizens want that you can do for a reward and no other benefit.
And with the upcoming game that's already teased to feature a big evil entity, that was foreshadowed throughout many games that will threaten the entire world and that you need to stop. So it will be another dramatic confrontational story, where you simply don't have time to go on fun adventures.
It's got to be the Oz and ice weapons. I have been playing Athena with an ice smg. I'm literally just running and gunning. Freezing enemies and slicing them. Flying through the air is also incredible. Freezing an enemy so they watch in horror as my derriere goes right in their face with a earth shattering butt slam. This is way too fun.
Hi all, could anyone help me kill Crawmerax on playthrough 1? I seem to be struggling to get gear to make it possible. [PC]
The original gear calc for bl1 always used flash, well flash obviously doen't work anymore so... no bl1 gear calc. I tried to use ruffle but that didn't work and I dought that flashpoint has it, are there any other flash emulators that might work?
If you could design a skill tree or a character what would it be, I personally want something like athena from the pre-sequel with the elemental status effect.
Sooo, I am a very new player to this franchise. I recently finished BL3 and moved on to New tales from the Borderlands. Upto BL3, I have played and enjoyed everything even some of the weaker parts (air time mechanic in TPS, the memory leak of Bl1 goty enhanced etc., the destroyer as last boss which didnt even feel like a boss)
I started playing New tales today and HOOOLYYY SHIIT is this game bad. I wanted to give it a chance even though it had bad reviews everywhere. But GODDAMN this game sucks. I only managed to play the first like prologue and uninstalled when they introduced the brother.
My question is: Is the story canon, will it somehow connect to BL4 so I SHOULD play through it or I can skip it and move on to 2nd playthroughs of the core games?
Hello, I hope everyone is well.
TL;DR - A Lobby system comparable to BL2, where players can join open lobbies, and easily play together again!
Long Version
At the beginning of BL3 lobbies sort of worked, and I enjoyed playing with random players and help people get through the story. However, nothing worked quite as well as BL2 lobby selection system.
There are many opinions about BL3, i loved everything about it, however the biggest issues was not being able to find people to play with.
Please make a ROBUST lobby where players can just join open games like BL2 has, as well as an auto join system.
I really missed being able to play random games with players, helping them with their mission, giving away items and all of that...
I've been stuck trying to get the mine key from Sledges safe house, public lobby for anyone who wants to join
Def Athena, Antonio, and Fragtrap.
Just rolled my first unforgiven from “The Farmery” with these stats. Thoughts?
Like Claptrap, Nisha, Wilhelm and Athena in TPS, let's say some old character comes back to play the role of a Vault Hunter, either in BL4 or some TPS-like spin-off, who do you choose, and how would they play?
I'm personally going for Dr. Zed, probably a weird choice, but I just really like the guy, and here's my idea for the skill trees:
Red skill tree: Probably called something like "Medical Malpractice", a lot of max health buffing, DOT negating and lifesteal bonuses, and then ways to fuck with enemy healthbars, like making them take more damage from your attacks, eliminating damage resistances or amplifying damage weaknesses, all through (intentional) medical malpractice. I can see the skill being something like a needle gun that applies some kind of hefty debuff that can be combo-ed with other things for good damage.
Blue skill tree: Zed is the man who owns the shield vending machines, right? So why not make a whole skill tree about shields? Of course, there’s the obvious "buffing shields into intense tankiness", but what about making shields a form of dealing damage? By adding things like amps, spikes and novas directly into the skill tree, maybe even things like the "on action skill start, trigger break/fill effects" as part of the skill tree (probably the capstone tbh). As for the skill, I'm thinking a temporary second shield that let's you take much more damage, and you can choose amp, spike or nova through augments.
Finally, green skill tree: Zombies! Now, I don't know how many people here have played Borderlands 1, but there was a whole zombie-themed DLC, where the main villain was Dr. Ned, Zed's twin brother, but let's be real, they are close enough that you can put Ned's abilities into Zed and nobody would really question the reference. Anyway, basically, a skill tree letting you revive dead enemies and have them follow you around like FL4K's pets, controlling your own zombie horde, basically FL4K but on a bigger scale. I'd say the skill would be turning into Ned's undead form, basically Buzz Axe Rampage with added zombie mechanics.
So, what are your thoughts on my ideas, and what character would you choose? And how would they play and upgrade like?
Managed to get Borderlands TPS on sale with the handsome collection for 8 bucks. I’ve already beat 2 twice, once normally and once on Ng+ so first things first I’m checking out TPS what tips can you give for early on? Best character to run/the most fun character to run. I plan on doing a few playthroughs and want some recommendations, thanks
Edited to add: I’ve attempted several playthroughs on BL2 but didn’t get very far because I wasn’t fond of the characters. Then I tried Salvador and fell in love with that little murder hobo.
I know that actual read only farming isn't possible on console, but I believe I heard it called "Dashboard Farming" does that work on ps4? I'd like to try to get Chiquito Amigo Hybrid on it.
Guns that can be used as grenades. It should be a given. But I don't think that I have ever heard Torque even mention the company.
i’ve played borderlands 2 several times but I never got into TVHM. I’m playing a new play through as Maya and I want to know any fun builds that you can achieve in the first play through of the main story. I’m currently going down the Cataclysm tree, but nothing seems particularly impactful for context I’m level 20 and Ive mostly played zero sniping builds in the past. thanks for any advice
hey all, looking for some Australian peeps to run a tvhm mayhem 11 playthrough, DM me or reply below if down and ill send ya my steam code
Just purchased the pandoras box collection from steam. Installed and started to play the GOTY enhanced version. Sound works up through the first cutscene. But the sound is gone once the actual gameplay/intro tutorial starts. No speakers connected. I just use wireless Sony noise cancelling bluetooth headphones. Searched for solutions but nothing has worked so far. Any ideas?
Thanks
1:Gunslinger: best attack command solid range and you get crit damage
2:Countess: the pretty good damage and the extra corrosive can help with the handsome jackpot plus long range attack command
3:Great horned: extra gun and all round damage is great plus the knock up can help
4:Eridian skag: the vortex cand pull large groups to lob nades at them for easy clear plus extra fire rate
5:Beefcake: the extra health is nice and the stun and high damage attack command
6:Scorcher: the elemental damage is nice but if you do like jakobs flak than most of if not all of your weapons are non elemental
7:Jabber: attack command does solid damage and range
8:Skag: extra damage is good and it gives you extra corrosive damage but countess gets better corrosive
9:Spiderant: health regen is ok but its just a way worse version of the scorcher its attack command is the same but no fire
also i think all of the pets are good just some are better than others
