The Bands of America Subreddit
Welcome to the (unofficial) Bands of America subreddit! Here you can talk about regionals, super-regionals, and Grand Nationals from around the BOA-sphere!

My 2021 Super Regional Pin got misplaced and was broken when I found it, I am going to try to recreate it. Does anybody have a clear photo of one? Can’t find anything online.
Edit: Meant to type super regional, not just regional.
When I go to ticket master and try to look into the sections there are two huge rows that say “Bowl” what does that mean? Will I have the front row seating?
What is prohibited to be brought in? I have a large face cut out with my kids picture, can I bring it?
Hey, I want to shamelessly ask a quick favor—could you help support my band, Cam Gallagher & The Tasty Soul by pre-saving our new track, "Boogieman"? It drops on Halloween, featuring an all-Nashville band, Chase Baird (Juilliard graduate), and Esi (vocalist for Grace Bowers & The Hodge Podge). Every pre-save really makes a difference in getting it out there.
If you’re up for it, sharing it with a few friends would mean the world, too!
Appreciate you!

Does anyone know where or how I could access videos of old BOA performances (2004-2007)? Any information would really mean a lot to me. Thank you!!!
I need opinions of this show, i was in, and ngl i dont like the show
New to this sub. I suspect this has been discussed before. I don't mean to stir up controversy. I've just been curious for a while about how BOA schedules its finals performance slots. Correct me if I'm wrong, but between WGI, DCI, and BOA, BOA is the only activity that does not base finals performance schedules on prelim scores.
I realize directly comparing randomized performance ordering versus ordering based on prelim scores is not possible to execute in a real-world setting because it is not possible to run finals twice in a double-blind manner in the same year with the same bands scored by the same judges to see if the two opposing ways of slotting a finals line-up affects scores and placements.
I also realize bias could exist in some form or another in either format. I'm just curious if any sort of general tendency might exist among judges to award higher scores, even subconsciously, for performances of similar quality and excellence that occur later in the evening versus earlier in the evening.... especially when the atmosphere in the stadium at 9:30 p.m. is a lot different than 6:45 p.m. In one of my years (we didn't make finals), a band that had the highest score in semi-finals performed first or second in finals. They did not win. A band that performed at the end of the night did.
I'm not arguing the placements absolutely would have been different had the two bands swapped their performance slots. However, I'll never forget the lack of energy from the crowd during that first performance. Many seats that were eventually filled were still empty as fans were still filing in from dinner break. It was a shame so many fans missed what was clearly one of the very best products on the field that year...but people need breaks and need to eat, and fans run late, etc. By the time the eventual champion performed, the stands were much more packed and the crowd was loud, dialed in, and fully engaged.
It just feels a bit off to me that chance, and not the merit of earning a high score in semis, was behind the different atmosphere in which each band performed.
Hello everyone! I’m trying to keep an active record of all the DCI, WGI, College, and BOA HS drumline brands on this google sheet. Feel free to add any brands you know groups are using! Thanks!

Knowing that the festival offers only hosting and food, so the band should pay the transportation and work permit fees maybe , Thank You
I remember back in 2017 while I was in the 7th grade contemplating quitting band, but then I saw a clip of Flowermound’s 2017 show and those thought went away. Ever since then i’ve been a fan of them. As someone not from texas it’s hard to understand how some bands do compared to others, but I was wondering by chance is there a way Flowermound could start dominating competitions again?
Bands Of America,
I am in high school marching band and enjoy it quite a lot. I'm the only one who really enjoys those 4 hour marching practices and listening to the band director gripe about what we are doing wrong. However, marching with high school and marching at BOA is quite different.
What is it like to march with Bands Of America?
So, was there funny business at last week's finals? Hebron has a microphone meltdown and delays AT LEAST 5 minutes after their on field chorale. They put on an excellent performance and edge out Marcus and FloMo. When scores are released, the penalty column is cropped out.
I believe Hebron's book is incredible, maybe the most difficult ever, especially on the brass side, but why the secrecy?
Saw THWS perform for the first time in 2017 and thought they were really good, I really loved 2018 a lot.
After seeing them last year, I don't know what happened after the head director left but I just didn't really enjoy the show last year, I felt they lost their identity in how they perform. The band was smaller than usual, the brass impact wasn't as strong and I just didn't feel they're was enough choreography.
I am not trying to talk bad about the school or anything. I still watch their shows and always will in the future. I hope to see them get more competitive again soon.
DISCLAIMER** I never went to the school but I have quite a few friends who used to go there.
I've been going to a BOA show since 2018 with the only exceptions of 2020 and 2022. Wanting to get back into it this year. I joined this community because BOA has so many groups to keep track of and would like to know more about them. I know all the Texas ones like The Woodlands, CTJ, RR, etc. Some Indiana bands and Broken Arrow. Throughout the upcoming days I will be posting my thoughts on my experiences at BOA.
I'm also still new to reddit and joined around June to get all my thoughts about DCI.
Does anyone know if BA is definitely not going to GN?
Is this year a team Texas year
I went to the summer camp back in 1991 in Whitewater and wondered how many others went to that camp also. It may have been one of the last years for the 1800+ member mass marching band that did a parade in Milwaukee but I’m not sure. If you were there also I’d love to hear from you whether you were a student, SWAG, instructor, staff, etc. I do remember Cam when I checked in and how awesome she was. Anyway, have a great one!
This was the one year North Hardin did not do State Finals in my state. They went BOA only that year and I'm wanting to find any vids from the performances they had. I know they did Louisville, Indianapolis Super Regional and Grand Nationals. A few vids from the KY local contest and a BOA video recorded from the stands are on YouTube, but i wanted to find anything else. "Lost in Translation" was a fun show and a favorite for me from the program. If anyone can help me find these, thanks👍
My wifi cut out while recording it, and it's a really important show for me. I believe they performed early in the second day, they didn't make finals. I was wondering if anybody maybe recorded the whole thing and I could just sift through it? Or if anybody recorded it and could give it to me. Thanks a lot.
Know it's a complete long shot in the dark but I loved Murray last year and never got to watch them on stream cause my connection wasn't good. If anyone knows anything about where I can find Murray Vids from 2021, can you help me? Thanks😄
Avon & Carmel...again. Nice to see Blue Springs stepping up into 3rd
