Thought he absolutely smashed it! Was really happy for him because I know he hasn’t always translated live. It’s not even really the music I would listen to much but his taste was amazing, he’ll always be ok with transitions but track selection and general flow was good. Great lighting in the venue too!
Got there around 1am so I can’t comment on Holt’s set. Now I feel like Maeda is only just developing his style but is having difficulty translating his vision onto the dancefloor, many good tracks but not pieced together in a coherent fashion he was also abusing the bass lines which sounded very muddy Imo. The crowd at this point wasn’t helping much tbh, lots of moving in and out of the front and I could overhear people having full on conversations over the music made it really hard to lock in. 3am on the dot Wats steps on the booth and it’s a different ride, you can feel it! Short intro and within 15 minutes he had a really good groove going on layering track after track sometimes four deep mixed with so much precision that you would think it’s one long track you are listening to, and hour into his set the floor had pretty much settled it was so much better from then on every one dancing and smiling while Wata kept delivering his perfectly crafted psychedelic hypnotherapy😵💫😵💫😵💫 sadly no outro and no encore. Studio is always a vibe at the end, I was pleasantly surprised by Interstellar Funk an artist I’ve never heard before, the last hour of his set was a very bouncy mix of groove and cosmic sounding synths and loops, perfect for sending me out back into the world with a recharged sense of Love and Gratitude. Again, thanks to all the beautiful souls that share their energy in that dancefloor… ⚡️🛸👽
The Dead of Night rave I was going to tonight got shut down right before I got there. Any other underground/warehouse raves going on?
i would love to do something this halloweekend, didn’t do anything on halloween and this just feels wrong anyone know about free raves going on tonight? the city and brooklyn are the locations im seeking out
On day one do you get a two day band or each day is a separate scan?
Max styler, Dom dolla, vintage culture for reference
Thanks 🙏
Does anyone what to expect for MK’s Area 10 set at Knockdown center?
Anyone have knowledge on Eris’s treatment of non 21+ ids? I understand it’s a bar but I’m hoping that showing I’m at least a legal adult with no intention of drinking will be fine
Anyone going?
Taking a friend to his first rave
It says doors and show start at 10pm, I don’t want to miss him since he has no openers but starting at 10pm seems really early! Also seems like set times are pretty different night to night at Brooklyn Steel
Went for the first time to Paragon on Halloween. I don’t know why this place advertises itself as a club it is literally a bar with a tiny dancefloor. I went there thinking it’s a queer safe space but 80% of the crowd were white cis men. Sticking to basement.
First time going to good room! What are the vibes and should I wait to get there till later or does it go right at 10?
Where are some clubs and parties that are playing edm tonight?
Saw a ton of promoters reposting this and saw it in another thread with no comments…im nosy does anyone know what happened?
The place definitely felt designed to disorient you with the exit signs basically on every other door and low visibility hallways. Felt like an adult fun house in a lot of ways but subtle enough to make it seem more genuine/not a circus attraction.
Everyone I was near was friendly and dancing hard. I know it's a meme but there were basically also no phones in sight. Their rule seemed to be actually taken seriously by the dancers. I really wish we could make it a hardened part of the culture.
TBF I did see briefly 2 phones each for about 3 seconds but both people were clearly just checking the time and not taking pictures, calling anyone, or being even slightly disruptive.
The 3-4 times I bumped or was bumped it stayed super friendly, just a quick "oh sorry!"/smile and that was it. It was a big + very varied crowd so I was surprised how PLUR it all felt. Felt much more so than the two shows I've been to at the navy yard.
Question: Is there anyone that covers Basement upcoming artists/events to give a snapshot of what to expect? Sometimes I get some serious music fatigue from constantly looking up DJs and producers every week and want to just relax and listen to music I know. And that was before I ever went here where the length of listed artists performing weekly is long.
The show descriptions on RA are of some use, but if there's anyone out there that goes into more detail while still keeping it manageable + maybe have it feel like more of a conversation with brief music excerpts I'd love to know about it.
Was a vibe. Thank you Jamie & Seth 🙏🏼
Hands down the best lineup of all 3 nights
Currently at Bossa and want to keep going. Did not see anything on RA guide
Are people wearing costumes to circoloco tonight? My friends and I are but wondering what the vibe is from others.

My friends and I would like to go to Odd Mob tomorrow at Webster Hall, but one of them broke her leg and is in a wheelchair. Does anyone know how to get accessible seating? I emailed their disabilities email, but it bounced. Thanks in advance!
I'm an undergrad in Columbia working on a school project and want to interview a bunch of people involved in the NYC nightlife community. If you or someone you know is involved in nightlife and are free for a quick 15 minute chat, please dm me!
