The aim for this subreddit is not to have a "social justice memes" sub, but to get memes that might also belong on /r/atheism ; in other words, to be a quick one stop shop for people who want normal atheist memes that don't feature the quote of yet another old white dude.
Please note that although this subreddit features lots of quotes, "normal" memes such as this, this and this are encouraged.
This subreddit will only be submitted to episodically by the mods; however, you can find a tumblr created in the same spirit at http://diverseatheism.tumblr.com/ (feel free to cross post from there yourself)

Am I the only one who thinks that is seems this attitude toward awareness of death is exclusive to religious people? To me coming out of Christianity and having a full blown existential crisis and fear of death accompanied becoming an atheist.
I’m curious, do any of you who are lifelong atheists feel this way? To me it seems like awareness of brevity of life and reality of death accompanies every day of atheism. Loss of loved ones isn’t what causes this feeling for me.
Hi all -
I've realised it's much easier to do this in a tumblr than on a subreddit so I'm officially throwing in the towel and using tumblr instead:
http://diverseatheism.tumblr.com/
I've got about 2 months worth of content in my queue, with two submissions per day, and I'm sure I'll keep my head above the metaphorical water.
This sub will still be here, and you're still welcome to submit stuff yourself - just I won't be doing any submitting for the forseeable future.
(Hey, you can even submit things you find on the tumblr and get that sweet, sweet link karma for yourself)
If anyone wants to be modded on this sub now or in the distant future, let me know. I've been an active reddit user for many years on this account and don't see that changing.
Thanks to those of you who have posted or commented - I really do/did appreciate each one of them,
MagicWeasel
