Title.
I was at that IKEA earlier today and noticed that specific size and colourway was in a bin in the bedding area with a special yellow "last chance" price tag with $24.99 written in red ink, and a full price of $39.99. However, when I got to checkout, it still rang up at full price and it was the one time I didn't bother taking a picture of the tag at IKEA. I commented to the cashier and she said it was only the twin size (which is wrong because the twin is $29.99??) Since there was a line forming behind me, I didn't bother arguing and just told the cashier I didn't want it anymore.
But I clearly remembered it being the QUEEN and $24.99, because my partner saw the tag and said "oh, it's only the queen?" and I also did the painfully slow mental math at the time so I could tell him "for $15 cheaper, I'll take this (over the other colour from the same line I was originally going to get)".
Not sure if I'm allowed to include the link but it was this item: https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/aengslilja-duvet-cover-and-pillowcase-s-light-green-60577188/#content (specifically the light green one in Full/ Queen). It was in the bedding section and in one of those wire bins.
Sorry for the random ask, it's been bothering me the entire ride home. If it wasn't for the fact my partner's headache getting worse, I would've ran back in and double checked for myself.
I work in finance on Bay and had a few great chats with a few older individuals that worked at the large brokerages/banks during the 90’s and 2000’s, and the stories were WILD. Deals were flowing left and right, and money was like a waterfall during that time period. Even heard some stories of strippers and escorts in offices when deals were going great. They said that Bay Street has slowed down since then. Can anyone confirm this? Was Bay Street a whole other world compared to now?
I'm just looking for ttc parking for a few hours
For anyone that's been to SC parade elsewhere, how does it compare to macys or beaches or anywhere else?
Hi everyone!!
I have a cousin flying in from out of town and was wondering between activate or an escape room which would be a more fun activity??
I’m looking at VR Escapism in Markham and the Actuvate in Scarborough! I’ve never been to any so if anyone can give me their two cents that’d be awesome!
Thanks for your reccos :) trying to beat the Sunday sads.
I read posts from men and women who are complaining about the dating scene and most the time it’s the same complaint- ghosting, situationships, games… but yet we all feel like we want more? So why are we not meeting, what’s making this so challenging?
I recently moved to Canada and got a work in a restaurant, but I'm a little confused. How does the IRCC know how many hours I worked? I get paid biweekly, and as an international student, I am allowed to work 20 hours per week.
I tried not to exceed 20 hours. If my payment is biweekly, can I work 30 hours one week and 10 hours the next? And can I accept tips as online interac? Because I'm not paying tax on my tips
If not, how does the IRCC know about it?
Have a pair of ray ban's (metal) that I haven't used in a while since I got a new prescription, while I know local optometrists and Costco (maybe) do them, Optically seems to do it for around 50-60. I haven't seen anything about the reglazing thing online at all though aside from their site.
I'm from University of Toronto, Mississauga, and I would like to know if there are any free or cheaper places to park near the Eaton centre or Sir Isaac Brock Bridge (or somewhere in between). On buses, it would take over 2 hours to get there, and I am only able to stay for a certain amount of time. I don't mind paying a bit for parking, but 34$ for only 4 hours (I don't know if they also will charge tax) is a bit much for me.
I hope to go next Friday but not sure that I will for that price.
It’s been a rough year for me. I know this is weird sub to ask this question but I’m just curious how my fellow Torontonians handle heart break especially in this day and age of online dating and flaky dates. It’s been about 7 months for me and while I’m trying to move on, the amount of disappointing first dates I’ve been on are wild lol. I’m 27M and looking for love in the city is so damn hard.
(I apologize in advance if this is the wrong subreddit to ask, but I genuinely don’t know where else to go besides r/ freedommobile)
So 3-4 months ago my entire family switched from Rogers to Freedom. We all got international plans with 10 gigs. It was an infinitely better deal than Rogers and we were all very happy.
A week ago one of my family members was billed an INSANE amount. When we checked the bill it said we had been making calls to the most absurd places like Botswana and Burkina Faso. We never have any reason to make calls to these countries, and there were 50+ of them in only one month. We assumed it was fraud and called freedom. They helped change the number and said they would reimburse us the $200.
Flash forward to now: we have been billed $700+. TWO of my family members are now supposedly making calls to these random countries (including the one that we just got the number replaced). Not only that, but Freedom is now charging us an additional $200 (the 200 that they said they would REIMBURSE).
Has anyone had this experience?? What in the world are we supposed to do?? Any advice would help, and if anyone from Freedom has any input it is very welcome. Thank you.
Reason for asking is they don’t make it clear online what Anglican tradition they follow.
Next September, I’ll be visiting to check out the Hockey Hall of Fame and am looking for suggestions to make it a full weekend. I’ll probably stay for 3-4 nights.
While I’m not usually a zoo person, I’ve heard it’s worth visiting, so I’ll likely check it out.
Here are some things I enjoy:
Things I’d rather skip:
Since I’ll be flying in, I won’t have a car. I’m assuming Uber/Lyft are reliable, but I’m open to using public transit if it’s convenient. Any tips on navigating transit would be great.
I’d also love hotel recommendations. My budget is $300/night.
Overall, I’m looking for a relaxed weekend with HHOF, some good food and beer, and a few laid-back activities.
Hey AskTO! Just burned out working in healthcare, fairly new to the city, but looking for some happening nightlife tonight. Trying gradually to stop being a bound to the hospital and take some ownership over enjoying my time in the city!
I've seen some previous posts just saying to walk along King st, but wondering if there are any particular spots in mind.
For what it's worth, I'm a 28 M. Thanks!
My brother is visiting at Christmas & we are going to the Mirvish. I know there are a lot of restaurants nearby with decent reviews, but I wanted to know if anyone had any specific recommendations or hidden gems? He's a chef so I wanted to make sure the food was nice. Thank you !
I really want to see Doug Ford ride a bike through Toronto to work. I think it would help broaden his perspective on what causes traffic slow downs. Is it really bike lanes, or perhaps cars, uber pick-ups and construction everywhere?
I've noticed this twice now where a delivery driver in like a Honda Civic will have a dozen or so boxes in their back seat. Is this due to shortages of cargo vans? Too much demand and not enough trucks?
Can anyone recommend budget-friendly in-person drum lessons for learning?
In Manitoba we have lots of actuals thrift shops that sell clothing, appliances, etc for really cheap. I have been looking for something similar in toronto but all the “thrift shops” I have been to sell really old decaying clothes for ridiculous prices. Who’s buying a $20 old gildan shirt when you can go to winners and get something new for $13 or $17. It’s insane to me.
Anyways, please leave your suggestions for goodwill-like stores around downtown.
Staying near Yonge & Eg and twice this week (this morning 7am-ish and Wed afternoon 4:30pm-ish) I've heard a loud popping bang outside and immediately after the power went out for 30 seconds and then came back on. Annoying since we have to reset/restart a bunch of things. To me it sounds like something blowing (capicator?) but then with the power coming back on so quickly I'm not sure...
Anyone have thoughts on how to report this or check what is going on?
Hey Torontonians, should Doug Ford focus on other priorities instead of trying to rip up bike lanes? It seems like we're back to car dependency....Not a good sign see Montreal, for example, have protected bike lanes, bicycling network etc...
Should he focus on healthcare, hospital wait times, homelessness, lack of family doctors, cost of living, and other issues that matter to us the most?
What are your thoughts? Post a comment down below would like to hear from you.
Since the "Save Time Act" was announced, I can’t shake the frustration. The cynicism, the cruelty, the blatant disregard for facts (we know it will make congestion worse, but in any case, it was never really about that) are overwhelming. I know the way people see things in Toronto may differ from the rest of the province, but Ford’s disastrous tenure affects everyone in Ontario.
What’s the best way to raise awareness about this across the province? How can we connect with people outside the GTA and make sure they know that the reason they don’t have a doctor isn’t just bad luck—it’s Ford.
Hello everyone, my GF and I (both about to finish our vet studies in Belgium) are looking for a vet clinic with lots of different services to do a internship. We don’t know much about Toronto so I wondered if Reddit might be able to help maybe?
Does anyone know where you can buy vida tequila in Toronto??
Hi guys,
I’m relatively new to the country, yesterday while I was riding my ebike, a car hit me as they were trying to take a turn. My ebike got damaged, I was injured and was admitted to the emergency room (I’m doing fine now). The police came, issued a report and within it mentioned the insurance policy of the car driver and their name.
My questions:
Where would you relocate to ?
Are there any real traditional hammams / turkish baths in or around toronto or they all just spas that offer hammam style services ?
I've purchased my first condo and looking for finally get some nice and long lasting furniture. I do know of Ikea, Structube, Bricks, Leons but haven't had experience with last 3. I've also been to EQ3 but I personally don't find their pieces looking as nice for the price that they are being sold for.
So far, I am looking at Ikea's Kivik and Hemnes/Brimnes series. But would like to know if there are other decent stores to check out. PS I am not keen on buying used.
I decided to finally get a gym membership at Fit4Less. My phone gave me the option for it to fill in the slots like name, phone number, etc. I let it fill it in and then I filled in everything else. After I got the receipt in my email, I realized that it put in a fake name that I use online instead of my actual name. I need to know if it's going to be a problem that I don't have the same name as my real, legal name.
