Seriously, what the fuck. Dude walks into a store I'm at today and just fucking reeks of days old piss. I've seen him there before and he's always smelled bad, but today it was just unbearable. A lady ended up puking, it was that bad. I ended up just walking out and going to a No Frills nearby, I just couldn't stand it.
Gonna answer a few questions right off the bat before people judge: No, he is not homeless. No, he is not disabled. Yes, he does have access to running water. Yes, he is perfectly capable of showering and doing laundry. He just refuses to do so because he thinks the government poisoned the water with fluoride and that his skin will deteriorate if it touches him. According to the staff he's there every day, and he just completely stinks up the whole store every single time, but they can't kick him out.
Worst part is every time I go there, not only is he there, but there's another guy who just fucking stinks of cigarettes and booze. The combined smell makes me feel so bad for the workers there.
Do people just not give two shits about hygiene anymore? Holy shit.
It wasn't a car, it was a bike
People were coming in and out of the streetcar so I assumed it was safe and made the mistake of not looking. He smashed into me from behind shortly after I stepped out and started screaming and swearing at me. I yelled back at him that he's supposed to stop behind a streetcar. He yelled at me that I was supposed to get to sidewalk right away
He was on an electric bike and had probably hit the brakes just before, so he hit me at low speed. It hurt, but I'm not injured. A lady and her daughter were just entering the streetcar after I exited it. I think he swerved to avoid them and that's how he hit me in the back. He had a young girl with him as well. Neither he nor the child were wearing a helmet
One of the other passengers joined me in yelling at him and he peeled off at full speed, mounted the sidewalk and rode away with the crowds parting to avoid him. This was a busy intersection on Queen Street
The lack of enforcement of the rules of the road is pretty much non existent in the city. It's dangerous being a pedestrian with drivers, bikers and cyclists being left to do whatever they want and not giving a shit about anyone else
Is there even anything we can do about this?
I can't find a job anymore and now I'm having to go to college as well but now I can't afford for ttc much anymore what else can I do? I get thrown off for not being able to pay or be called out I just don't really know:(
My college will take me almost 1½-2 hours to walk..
I just don't wanna be mean and just walk in but what else can I do now? Any advice is appreciated!
I have been sick for the past few months and have had no energy to cook, so I relied a bit too much on delivery apps. None of the food I ordered was good or fresh!! Even restaurants considered good (for example Pai) gave old/re-heated food and I got food poisoning as well.
3-4 years ago I would also use delivery apps and the food was way better! Even for fast foods like McDonald's. Now the food comes cold, it's obvious it's been sitting somewhere for a while (when it's "beef" you can tell right away).
It's actually dangerous and I wished restaurants would be a little bit more ethical about that and that were more food controls.
I know everyone has a different journey but I just need to get this off my chest — and to know whether I’m on the right track or if I’m missing something. I have been in Toronto for almost 3 years now. I was a marketing communications professional back in my home country with 5+ years experience. I came as a landed PR and worked fulltime in retail/customer service jobs for 2 years (making slightly over minimum). I tried my best searching for a higher-paying and more stable job related to my field (5 months and 100+ applications after, nothing). Ended up in Insurance now after a referral, earning 50K annual. I feel this is too low considering how much my friends and contemporaries earn.
All this taken into consideration, I have saved about 20K since I arrived and started working. But to note, I haven’t been living that comfortably— I’ve been renting a small room in a house, I only eat out 1-2x a month, I compare prices of groceries down to the last cent, and I only buy discounted / sale items like clothes far and few in between. I send money to my family back home too for emergencies and help out with some bills.
I know I’m in a better position than others and to be grateful, but at times I feel like my financial progress and living situation aren’t what I hoped they were going to be coming here. At times I feel down and worry if this is all worth it being away from family, living and feeling alone, and suffering in this weather I am not used to at all.
Is 20K+ savings in 2.5years here too small / slow?
Just wanted to rant here!
It just sucks knowing that I can't get approved for a mortgage with a 100k salary in Toronto and I'm not even sure why I am even saving up. I'm a software engineer and I'm also finishing up my masters and I've paid out all my student loans and my masters degree is completely free. Ive saved up atleast 80k up until this point but literally for no reason.
I really want to live in Toronto because I believe a lot of high class people live here and I've even turned down a job in NYC paying 200k USD just so I can live here but I guess I have huge regrets now.
[Short] Let me begin with that, I am fanatic of Technologies, Cars, Public Transportations, Trains, Planes, and I am fine, if theres proper balance between transportation modes, not too much car dependent like North America or what F0rd G0vt want...
[Long]
I have been using public transportation always, and uber sometimes when necessary. And I thought to drive my own rented or carshare or owning a car. So, I got G2 driving license successfully in first attempt in the last week.
And I celebrated it by renting a Hertz car (for legal reasons, nothing against them, cause every costs are my responsibility). And did drove the car for 24 hours.
Guess what,
2.People literally always overspeed, erratic, speeding, horning, zigzagging so much... And me? Literally following rules, yet stressed...
Costs nearly similar as Uber costs that is not inflated, fair price.
Learned hard way that, driving on multilane, more than 3 lane streets, are harder to drive than, driving on 2 lane streets, with separated proper bike lanes, and streetcar lanes. Cause, too much lane, will cause increased reckless driving, and yes, so boring dull...
People and car brain will say, its aways freedom, easy, cheaper, to travel, if you own a car or rent a car...
Like bro seriously? Not everyone need to use cars that much like 10 hours a day or 24 hours a day, 7 days/week... And renting, cars, well, the car I rented, total cost was 237$, why? cause, insurance, oil fee, parking, and lots of hidden fees. Imagine, I didn't get insurance, it could be around 105$.
But, let me show you, how much it costed for each hour?
Its around 9$ per hour when calculated with 24 hours driving,
and around 29$ per hour, when calculated with 8 hours, that I drove about.
Seriously? I understand it may look cheaper than Uber, but practically with how I used it, it's literally nearly similar as Uber cost, that is not inflated. For example, going YorkU from downtown takes 50 mins, and uber costs 45$, and car rent costed about 29$.
So, whats worth of renting a car, or owning a car? when I could just take uber sometimes, or car share, yes that one is fair good service.
BUT What if there was more better public transportation, subway lines, avenues or 2/3 lane streets with properly separated bike lanes, and streetcar or bus lanes. Because this is what will be more safer for both pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers. Of course, why you drivers need to drive too fast and reckless to your destination? SMH I understand you have urgent time. But those proper roads are what actually helpful to save your time, and keep everyone safe.
And Seriously? F*ck F0rd Government, who wants to remove bike lanes, public transportation, and keeps adding more lanes to roads, and adding more expressways, highways... WHAT A STUPID SHITTY CAR BRAIN F0rd is. SMH.
I decided not to rent or own car soon, I will rent car when necessary, I will definitely take car share like zipCars, Commoneautos, But, PLS DONT REMOVE BIKE LANES AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATIONS SMH
[End Of Rant]
Going to the 5th floor to shop for men's clothing at The Bay at Queen and Yonge is such a shite experience. They may as well just convert the entire floor into one big warehouse, replete with industrial racks and cardboard signs pointing you to the brands. What difference would it make? Half of the escalators don't work, there's virtually NOBODY on the floor to help customers*, and some sections are desperately wanting in design and organization. The north side facing Queen street is literally just a series of racks overflowing with puffer jackets. Why not pare the whole thing down and stop pretending that you're offering any retail experience whatsoever?
I realize that this is a general trend for most department stores - you just need to look south of the border to see their legacy retailers rotting away, like the corpse of some beached whale - but it's such a sad reminder of what these places used to be. I do not see the point of having this weird anachronism still there, occupying a MASSIVE amount of real estate downtown, but with ostensibly nobody 'on the inside' giving much of a shit about it. Let it die in peace.
*I love how it's (APPARENTLY?) a store, but the catch is that you can't actually fucking buy anything because nobody is at any of the cash terminals. Cue me and like 4 other people running around with a sweater in their hands and wondering how they can successfully leave the building with their items, short of straight-up shoplifting. And this is on Black Friday, for fuck’s sake.
I moved to Toronto 25 years ago and, man, has it changed. My question is rhetorical because I know what’s happened: rising costs but not rising wages, defunding of the arts, repeat COVID infections causing more erratic behaviours in public due to organ damage (sources at end of post), a premier who hates the city, housing crisis, and a general rise of worldwide fascism - and more things I can’t think of off the top of my head. All of these factors make living in this city more hostile.
The other night, at 7pm, I went to the Eaton Centre. I’m on Line 1 to go down past Union and up to Queen station. Subway operator says the power is out from Union to Bloor along Yonge. So I get out at Osgoode to take the streetcar across. Queen Street is being torn up due to wait for it construction so the streetcar makes a detour and I can finally get off at Queen + Church (which kind of a sketchy area that I wasn’t mentally prepared to be in). I get off the streetcar to walk back in the direction of the mall. It’s a total ghost town. Then I’m met with more construction on my walking route and have to make detours until I finally make it to the mall one hour later - door to door from my apartment to EC is usually 30 minutes.
The mall was fine. Everything was fairly normal there.
Then on my ride home on the subway (the power outage situation had been rectified), on a fairly busy subway for 9:45pm on a Wednesday, through my music on my noise cancelling headphones, I hear a man yelling. I look to my right and I see someone who is clearly mentally unwell and likely experiencing homelessness, yelling at some guy and yanking him out of his seat (don’t know what the impetus was) and then vomit all over the floor.
A few of us, including myself, got out of our seats and walked swiftly to the other end of the car and luckily my stop was next. I want to make it clear that I mostly walked away because I have a barf phobia and my post isn’t to disparage the mentally unwell man obviously not getting the supports he needs to be safe for himself and others.
My gripe is that there weren’t so many instances like this in the past (transit issues, unwell/homeless folks) because the city, in general, was a less hostile place in which to exist. I know these aren’t Toronto-specific problems but, man, I used to enjoy going out and about in this city. But due to the aforementioned issues in paragraph one, it makes me want to move elsewhere, where it’s a bit quieter. I can’t do that yet and probably not for a decade or so.
All I know is I no longer call this place “the city of my heart.” I miss the old Toronto.
Went to see Gladiator 2 last night with a friend. Had to buy tickets for the VIP showing given our timing. Each ticket cost $30. We then both bought medium popcorn and a medium fountain drink. $20 each. In total for us to both go to the movies it cost us $100 and some change … what the actual hell. We could have gone for a nice dinner for that. I’m still floored. How can families afford to go to the theatre?
Is it just me or it smells like sh!t by Downtown Toronto again? A bit harder to smell cause it’s cold but once u do a big inhale through ur nose you’ll get a sniff of it 😂😅
**Edit: I’m by Church and Bloor
I was reading through that other water thread in here and the replies seriously got me thinking - what the fuck is wrong with everyone in this city?
First, the bottle water drinkers. Full stop right there. You shouldn't be drinking anything out of a bottle, just stop that.
Second, the people who think they're being virtuous by drinking out of the tap or using a filter or something. Do you have any idea how much energy that takes to bring up all that water out of the lakes process it through your tap every time you turn it on and off? You shouldn't be doing that either.
You have a toilet with a bowl full of water right there, just drink straight from there like a normal human being and stop wasting all of the resources. I've had enough.
Has anyone noticed the noise pollution from a helicopter lately in Toronto? This started around August. It’s CONSTANT and so loud! I believe it’s from the Global News helicopter. It’s unbelievable how frequently it’s flying around. I can’t even enjoy a good walk anymore, it’s so loud and annoying. Does anyone have more information on this?
No, I'm not going to throttle one. Because "Every day at least one TTC worker is assaulted. That's one too many." But by fuck, they're starting to get on my nerves. They never stop at designated stops if it's a little inconvenient for them to do so. Two fresh incidents from memory:
A few days ago I was at Centennial College and waiting for Bus 102. The bus comes from the opposite side, turns left and immediately after turning is a stop where I was waiting. As I saw the bus, I stepped out of the shelter (because it was after sun down and quite cold) but instead of stopping, the dude kept driving along. At that point, might as well flip me a bird too.
The other incident happened not more than 5 minutes ago at Warden station. I have a heavy as fuck toolchest with me and I didn't want to go all the way inside the subway station and then come back around only to take the stairs and end up a short walk from where I need to be to take Bus 9. So I decided to walk to the bus stop right outside the station where the bus is supposed to stop right after exiting Warden station. The asshole came to a complete stop (because he needs to take a right from there and there's traffic all the way upto the stop itself) but didn't open the doors. I stood there with my heavy toolchest like an idiot and this dude occupied the bus stop that whole time but won't open the doors. Even the passerbys looked on at the conundrum with surprise. As the traffic moved along and everyone ahead of him turned right on the red signal, he sped up and got out of there as well. I had to walk to the next bus stop dragging the toolchest with me just so our dear TTC drivers don't have to stop at designated a stop because it's too fucking inconvenient for them.
I mean I understand that it's a bus and it's a large vehicle which is already pretty awkward to maneuver around tight spots but with all due respect, THAT'S LITERALLY THE JOB. You signed up for this in exchange for taxpayer money. Either do it properly or quit. I'm lucky it wasn't snowing during a particularly cold night or I'd been fucked walking with such a heavy payload to the next stop.
Of course the union decides to strike at the busiest time of the year where millions of small and large businesses depends on their service. Couriers is not a option for most since it cost a lot more money to send or don't deliver to some rural areas. I have a some friends businesses who depends on the Nov to Dec sales which represent like 70% of their yearly revenue and they are already expecting it to be lost for them because they cannot get their products out or customers unwilling to pay higher cost by the couriers.
So last night it's the 90s group Kids in the Hall reunion show at the Danforth. I had to lineup for ages and one security guy came and yelled about people pushing and cutting in and to stop. Ok whatever.
Finally get to the security checkpoint and I see why it's taking forever. They're deep searching people like it's a rap battle show. This is a Monday night comedy show with doors at 6pm my dudes. No one in the line is under fucking 40 years old you idiots.
You have to put all the stuff from your pockets in a little dish of course but these clowns are actually opening up people's wallets and looking through the billfolds and shit. Opening up ladies purses and rooting around inside taking stuff out and putting it back in. What the fucking shit is that? Way beyond just searching for weapons or bottles.
You don't need to wand frisk up my fucking balls for a Monday night comedy show we paid $90 for.
At least the Kids were great. Respect.
Holy fuck. I never realize until now that riding on a bus with a bunch of rowdy high school students is such a pain in the ass. Yes, the TTC is a service for everyone to use. But ideally, you should behave yourself in public unless you don't give a shit what other people think about you. There was one guy who was blasting his dogshit music for everyone on the bus to hear, a few of them were eating and decided to leave their rubbish behind on the bus and they were talking so loudly despite sitting next to each other. It shouldn't be a surprise that this particular group of people didn't pay the $2.40 fare when entering the bus.
I find it quite pathetic how many users can be encouraging and applauding what is basically nothing more than petty vandalism all while we have to pay the bills to repair the broken cameras.
And so, what the hell is it about them that gets everyone so wound up? They’re clearly marked, they’re marked even before they go up. They give drivers every possible caution and reason to slow down yet so many still get nabbed.
It’s almost as if the point is not revenue generation, but just to get drivers to slow down in areas prone to accidents.
I’m sure the doubters love to see Toronto respected and well developed as a city but they don’t want to go through the motions of getting there.
Just slow the fuck down and read the signs there for you.
I hope you rot in hell.
This motherfucker with his shit-eating gleeful little grin, rubbing his bloated sausage-fingered hands together as he fucks over Toronto and every other city in this province, just to appease big donors and the halfwit useful idiots who vote for him. Who deliberately starves healthcare while people are dying waiting for scans and is about to add even more blood to his hands with the removal of safe areas for cycling on main thoroughfares across the city. He's so fucking insidious, so fucking corrupt, such a massive steaming putrid piece of shit and I am livid that he's been in power for this long.
I'm so fucking tired of being told to vote. I DO VOTE. EVERYONE I KNOW VOTES. And they didn't fucking vote for this deep breath-shaped blob of cottage cheese former drug dealer who speaks and probably reads at a Grade 4 level.
I HATE THAT IN THIS CITY WE ARE HELD BACK BY A BUNCH OF KNUCKLE-DRAGGING BUMPKINS WHO SEE BLUE AND THINK "Ope, that's who I'm voting for" without spending a SECOND to see that he had LITERALLY NO PLATFORM AND NO PLAN.
I'M SO FUCKING SICK OF FORD! His vendetta against us for rejecting his dumb ass in the mayoral election years ago is RUINING OUR CITY AND SETTING US BACK DECADES!!!! AND COSTING US MILLIONS!!!
Also our mayor having NO POWER in this situation is BULLSHIT.
WE NEED TO SERIOUSLY CONSIDER BECOMING OUR OWN PROVINCE! I'm well aware that this requires a constitutional amendment and that means reopening it but everyone is too scared/lazy to do that since Quebec would have a goddamn FIELD DAY!
FUCK YOU DOUG FORD AND YOUR NOTWITHSTANDING CLAUSE-ABUSING, CRISIS-IGNORING, VOTE-BUYING ASS! FUCK YOU!
thanks have a great day
No offense, but now I have a feeling that despite being liberal and progressive in some cases (especially Toronto), most of Peel Region sometimes contradicts the image they're trying to portray.
For example, not only is there racism towards immigrants (which, sadly, is a worldwide issue, so I won’t go into extensive detail), but there’s also a lot of hostility towards people who dress in certain ways. People wearing colorful clothing, for instance, are often berated and called homophobic slurs. There’s also cultural segregation in some areas, where people simply don’t get along, certain rigid beauty standards, a significant stigma surrounding mental health (such as people dismissing suicide as attention-seeking), and even internalized racism from the civilians themselves.
One particularly upsetting example came from a close friend of mine who went on a rant claiming that all, if not most, Black people in the US are asinine and dumb—just because there weren’t many Black students at the university I attend. Listening to that was flat-out insulting, and it really highlights some of the internalized prejudice present in the area.
I mean, nobody’s perfect, but if you claim to be progressive and inclusive, there’s a lot of work to be done to align actions and attitudes with those values.
For one, addressing racism, both external and internalized, requires active dialogue and education. It’s not enough to promote diversity on the surface without addressing the deep-rooted biases that exist within communities. People need to be taught the value of coexistence and understanding, rather than clinging to outdated stereotypes or judging others based on appearances, such as the way they dress or express themselves.
Similarly, mental health stigma is a major issue that needs immediate attention. Dismissing someone's struggles or labeling them as "attention-seeking" not only invalidates their pain but also discourages others from seeking the help they might desperately need. Suicide and mental health challenges are serious, and reducing them to jokes or casual remarks creates an environment where vulnerability is punished rather than supported.
Additionally, the hostility toward personal expression—whether it’s colorful clothing or differing cultural habits—suggests an undercurrent of intolerance that doesn’t fit with the progressive image many in the region want to project. Acceptance isn’t just about tolerating diversity when it’s convenient or fits a narrow mold; it’s about embracing people for who they are, even if their choices or lifestyles differ from the norm.
What frustrates me the most is that these issues aren’t limited to just one group of people. Everyone in some way contributes to this culture, either by perpetuating it directly or by staying silent. If there’s going to be real change, it has to be a collective effort. Schools, workplaces, local leaders, and community groups all need to play a role in creating a culture of empathy and respect.
Progress is a process, and while there are some bright spots, I feel like Peel Region—and other areas like it—still have a long way to go. Instead of simply promoting an image of being liberal and inclusive, they need to back it up with real, measurable efforts to address these underlying issues. Otherwise, it’s just a facade, and the people who live there—especially those facing discrimination, isolation, or hostility—will continue to bear the brunt of the hypocrisy.
I have had many bad experiences with many social workers ranging from therapy industry, to university departments, mental health centers, and even in private sectors too.. over 10 years.
They even told me I am not sad, I am not sui cidal, etc even if I actually was. And referring me out to others without any real referrals. Calls don't work. Even always assume I have autism. But I actually don't lmao.
Thank god I have finally found a good therapist.
But my question is, as people are saying, "it's easy to become social workers. You just take 4 years BSW and take 2 years MSW and write a thesis then take a licensing exam.
Once you pass all, you are successfully a therapist!"
Is this real? If so, why hell it's that easy?
Also why the head of the college of social workers is Male? While it is 97% woman dominated? Tf wrong with this college? He seriously need to step down smh
I’ve been forced to move like 5 times over the past 4 years because neighbours smoke and the landlord/roommate lie about how much smoke is in the apartment.
Is everyone ok with this? Why isn’t the non-smoking rule in apartments enforced? How do you avoid lung damage if you’re not rich enough to live in a single dwelling unit?
Who smokes in 2024? Why do people think vaping is safe? This is just the new version of mothers smoking while pregnant in the 80s saying it’s alright, “they” told us it’s fine.
Other common substances found in e-liquid or produced when it’s heated up may also pose a risk to the lungs. These include:
Diacetyl: This food additive, used to deepen e-cigarette flavors, is known to damage small passageways in the lungs. Formaldehyde: This toxic chemical can cause lung disease and contribute to heart disease. Acrolein: Most often used as a weed killer, this chemical can also damage lungs.
Y’all are breathing formaldehyde and weed killer.
23yr old black female. today i was at the tim hortons at college and spadina (which i never go to bc of the people who lurk outside of it) but i was at school and didnt pack lunch so i stopped by to get something quick. Well, after i order i went to the side where the order pick up table is and there was an older white homeless guy sitting at the table next to it. He made eye contact with me and asked if he was okay to sit where he was sitting(?) And i said yes no worries. Well, i guess that answer provoked him or i was staring at him for two seconds too long because after that he jumped over this barrier thing between the table he was sitting in and where i was standing. He almost got in my face and pretended to punch me while i quickly moved over to the other side of the tims hortons. Then i can hear him say a mix of “sorry sorry” and using swear words at the same time. They called out my name but he was still standing where the pickup table was so i asked the employee to bring it to where i was. The minute i got my drink i started crying so much and the employee asked me if he wanted me to kick him out. A lovely girl came up to me and asked me if i was okay and i just left with her. Just want to reiterate my thanks to her because she calmed me down.
I know this is a common occurrence in the city but i have never felt so unsafe downtown to that extent….i called the non emergency police number to report but no one in the appropriate department was picking up so i went to the police station and they told me to call or come back on the weekends.
I do have a soft spot for the homeless because my mom works in a shelter dt and tells me stories. The mental health crisis is so out of control i cant help but think this used to be someones child. Maybe i am just too emotional but while i did feel unsafe i also felt bad for the state of our society. I may be too dramatic to write this post but i just wanted to talk to share my experience and tell everyone to be aware of ur surroundings at all times and if u see something, report it to the appropriate people.
One day after receiving the flu shot (which I usually don't react to) I started experiencing symptoms similar to when I had COVID, but with a serious sinus infection. Quite a few of my colleagues who work with me at a hospital have had the same experience. I know that quite a few people are wary of the COVID vaccine. Kinda makes you wonder if they're trying to get rid of all those vaccines people are refusing to take hmmmm!!!!!!!!!
Not just cyclists, but all citizens of Toronto should be pissed about this bill. Not only does it give the Provincial government the right to expropriate land for their idiotic highway plans but they are also making municipalities pay the millions of dollars for the proposed removal of the bike lines. Plus a lot of other garbage. Please see for yourself: https://www.jessicabellmpp.ca/amendment_to_bill_212?fbclid=IwY2xjawGtkQpleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHTnfPyHgogn84ZwUZ01Vo2xgTkUNi7Neiftb9RchWrj0oj1HKN6OKMJAaw_aem_mJ6b06E8nqsnmN7Oi2VC5g
Disclaimer: I only VISIT Toronto because of family, so I’m not sure if my opinion is welcome here. I don’t want to offend; I mostly want people to enlighten me as to why Toronto happens to be built the way it is.
Toronto is nearing a population of 7 million in its metropolitan area. It's the fastest-growing city in both the US and Canada, and it's in the top 10 in terms of global skyscraper construction. We're all aware that Toronto is growing really fast, so I'll cut the yapping.
Part of good urban planning is not only accommodating this influx of people but also providing an easy commute for them. Toronto fails miserably at both.
Each and every time I visit this city, traffic seems to be getting worse, while public transit projects are stagnant. How does a city of this size still only have three metro lines? Montreal has four, and a near-equal number of stations. In fact, one of the lines (Scarborough RT) has been rendered defunct. I've legitimately never seen a city fail so badly that it has to regress its transit system. I don't hear any news of further developments, so I guess Toronto's transit and cycling/pedestrian infrastructure will be simply brushed off to the side for now so the government can focus on more ugly-ass expressways.
Toronto has terrible urban sprawl, with the worst case of 'missing middle' I've seen. There are haphazardly placed blobs of condominiums surrounded by parking and single-family homes all over the place. Toronto feels less like a cohesive urban area, with endless sprawl and dividing highways making it feel more like a bunch of smaller cities just orbiting a bigger one. Both Vancouver and Montreal have higher levels of population density than Toronto, which facilitates the growth of their respective transit systems.
I don't even know much about what the "GO Train" is, but my cousin tells me it's shit.
I don't live in Toronto, like I said, but I can just imagine how much of a hassle it can be to live there. I'm just ranting because Toronto feels less like the revered Canadian crown-jewel I want it to be and more like a blemish on the map I feel ashamed is representing us on the world stage. I just feel frustratingly powerless watching a city that could be so much better go down this path of car-centric fuckery and restrictive zoning.
If you are sick please stay home! This is your sign! Stay the F home. Just went to the gym earlier and now on the street car and in both places I encountered various individuals who have been profusely sneezing and coughing with a runny nose. To top it up, these POS don't even cover their hands when they sneeze?
I get its flu szn but don't be a hero
In recent weeks I’m not sure what is going on, but the amount of food delivery couriers on bicycles/scooters/mopeds not using lights at night on the road and going on the sidewalk is getting out of hand it’s so dangerous on winter nights. It will result in accidents and is totally preventable.
Please use lights at night and stay off the sidewalk.
Out of curiosity, is there not bylaws in place to discourage this?
If you need a fork to eat it, it's not okay to eat on the TTC. It's a transit service, not a kitchen.
