Critique Tips
Above all, be honest and forthcoming
Be specific, don't say "I like it!" say, "I like the way you...." and likewise for negative comments
Be Helpful, link to books, tutorials, or offer exercises for the artist
Don't refer to things as "good" or "bad," try to talk in terms of skill sets that can be worked on
A lot of us are visual thinkers, if you have a tablet copy+paste and make some notes
When receiving a critique, don't be too defensive, you can't explain away other peoples opinions of your art, try and listen to what they are saying

Something I stopped working on about a month ago but I might come back to it if I knew how to make a better background. I didnt try on the background or lighting
Colored pencil on medium surface paper. Just know what you think — whether you like it, what I can improve on, what you would change
Looking for gut reactions!
A sketch I did to practice shadows. Still have no idea how people do/ understand them so I tried a hatching technique. Any advice for improvement is appreciated

Please help me with my design for the king of swords! This is just a rough sketch of my idea for a character representation the king of swords. Each card is a magical girl based off a crystal/ metal representing the card! She is based off yellow gold with a sub theme of hawks. Let me know what you think of the design!
And if you have any ideas for backgrounds for the final piece or characteristics, that’s would be great too!!
I posted this yesterday but didn’t get any responses I used a dip pen and pencil
Recently did a perspective course which at end gave me assignment to create an environment scene! I would love some feedback on it, thanks!
Hi all! Recently finished this and I’m super proud of my shading. The only thing is it didn’t end up as dramatic as I wanted and I don’t quite think it pops. I’m still brainstorming a simple background, but if there anything I could have done better on her please let me know
Any advice is appreciated. I’m drawing in a 110lb sketchbook
Playing with oil pastels
Acrylic painting. Looking for crit on the portrait itself, as the piece isn't done. There won't be so much white empty space when its finished.
