Critique Tips
Above all, be honest and forthcoming
Be specific, don't say "I like it!" say, "I like the way you...." and likewise for negative comments
Be Helpful, link to books, tutorials, or offer exercises for the artist
Don't refer to things as "good" or "bad," try to talk in terms of skill sets that can be worked on
A lot of us are visual thinkers, if you have a tablet copy+paste and make some notes
When receiving a critique, don't be too defensive, you can't explain away other peoples opinions of your art, try and listen to what they are saying

I recently started getting back into drawing and have been practicing gesture "every day" for almost 2 weeks and the progress is kinda there but I know I've got a lot to go and just wanted to see if anyone can give some general advice on what I should draw or study to improve. And please don't hit me with "the just keep drawing" lol I know thats the key but I want to know what to draw to increase my improvement, thank you!
Trying to figure out how to get better…honest criticisms are welcome
I feel there is else something too much or something missing idk let me know!
I’d like to start off and say hi! I’m new here, not to Reddit entirely but I’m looking for outlets to post that yknow, won’t steal our drawings and used for something horrible? Yknow what I mean🙃
I recently finished this drawing in IbisPaint from a pencil sketch, I just wanted to know if there’s anything I’m missing or things I should work on?
I like making the hair chunky but obviously with different hair colours it looks a little funky, and I LOVE adding details to the eyes, but I noticed with lighter coloured eyes they look almost scary? If you have thoughts please let me know!
This painting has been in progress for far too long. Clearly there are areas that need work, but something about it in general isn't sitting with me. Do I need something in the top corner maybe?
Acrylic on Canvas 24 × 36
I drew the clothes and pose from a reference, but the character is original. Did I render the clothes right? I drew this without any understanding of lighting on clothing and stuff. Any other critiques would be appreciated!!! (This was drawn on procreate)
Medium: Carved Wood & Acrylic Title: Energy Flow 1 For me, this piece was designed to capture the hidden subatomic rhythms and patterns that shape our world, freezing a moment in time
Everyone pointed out before to work on my values and go more saturated with my colors so it doesn't look muddy.
I am also keeping mind with everything before hand, I really figure out is Shapes when I am coloring. Braking down Big shapes into smaller shapes and checking on their appeal. Also keeping my brush strokes "coherent". I am trying to brush along the form of the face. Also trying to keep in mind of cool vs warm light. I am wondering if I am braking this down right?
I wanted to know a couple of things like;
Overall, what would you change to this piece?
I made a fan art of Thorfinn (VInland saga), inspired from the Fallen angel painting by Alexandre Cabanel. I'd like to give my digital art a traditional feel, but also If you have advice on anything else its much appreciated! Besides the traditional feel, there are some problems still on hair rendering, and rendering objects away from the viewer (like the hand and dagger)
Been playing with the charcoal pencil... Tried to do more this time, more than little faces and some other stuff. Do tell where i can improve?! 😁
Can yall help me figure out how to fix this ugly ass face? Shes a lykoi cat… or supposed to be. Maybe a draw-over could help?
