Critique Tips
Above all, be honest and forthcoming
Be specific, don't say "I like it!" say, "I like the way you...." and likewise for negative comments
Be Helpful, link to books, tutorials, or offer exercises for the artist
Don't refer to things as "good" or "bad," try to talk in terms of skill sets that can be worked on
A lot of us are visual thinkers, if you have a tablet copy+paste and make some notes
When receiving a critique, don't be too defensive, you can't explain away other peoples opinions of your art, try and listen to what they are saying

My first post in this sub in close to ten years. Thank you for your time
Painted this in class and got a good grade, not sure if i’m 100% happy with it - any advice?
I feel like the detail of her eyes doesn’t match the detail of the rest of the face? But I want to see what y’all think!
I was really enjoying this piece. My original plan was to fill the back with various gold things, and I think I’ll still do that. But overall I’m feeling bleh about the piece now and I’m unsure if all the elements look nice together :(
It’s called “the queen’s necklace” and it’s a comment on imperialism’s treatment of women
Last time I shared in this group, I know I had issues with anatomy and color theory. Truth be told, I haven't drawn much since then due to work, but lately, I picked up a sketch book to practice drawing every day. Today, I tried to transfee that into my digital illustrations to see if I improved.
Do you think I still need work with color theory? And what about the anatomy? Any other criticisms are welcome.
oil paint on canvas, looking for ways to improve it!
I'm still working on this painting, and I'm not sure what I should do next. I would appreciate any advice
I’m going to outline all of this in blue pen ink, as you can see I’ve already started on the leg armor and it is not as detailed as the sketch. What would you do?
Hi. What do you you think. It is simple .
