This is going to sound crazy, but hear me out for a bit.

I've played a lot of IS. A LOT of IS. I'm talking d15 triple ending alt in is4 a lot. And something has been bothering me for quite a while. I often post screenshots of my runs in #Is-station in the main discord and I noticed that there might be some pattern as to which units you get as temporary recruitment in tickets. I believe there may be a set seed for everyone on a per day basis? I've seen things like me and someone else getting the same 3 units as temporary units in a single run which would be incredibly unlikely, altough not impossible.

All this to say if anyone knows if I just turned crazy from playing too much IS or if there really is a pattern as to which temporary operators show up in recruitments please tell.

#Opening Scene: Holiday Preparations in Lungmen

The camera zooms through Lungmen’s streets at twilight, alive with twinkling holiday lights, decorated storefronts, and Christmas trees. Snow falls lightly, adding to the magic. We see scenes from every district—some with elaborate lanterns, others with vibrant red ribbons and wreaths. The Lungmen Guard Department building, in particular, is bustling with decorations, and the characters *Ch'en, Hoshiguma, and Swire stand in a festively decorated room, contemplating their next move.

Scene 1: Deciding Who Will Be Santa

Swire (smirking, hands on her hips):
"Well, it’s that time again. Someone needs to be Santa. I say we pick wisely this year—I’m not dealing with another round of chaos like last year."

Hoshiguma (leaning back, grinning):
"Right. Last year, I had to pull three kids off poor Wei’s assistant. I think he’s still traumatized."

Ch'en (arms crossed, a look of frustration on her face):
"We need someone with… presence. And endurance. Someone who can keep the kids under control."

The door creaks open, and Razmirov strides in, visibly tired and dust-covered, having just returned from a long mission. He gives them all a suspicious look as he catches their stares.

Razmirov(raising an eyebrow):
"Why are you all looking at me like that?"

Hoshiguma(grinning, eyes twinkling with mischief):
"Hey, Razmirov~~ever thought about being Santa this year?"

Razmirov (glaring):
"You’re joking. Me? As Santa? Have you all gone mad?"

Swire (shrugging):
"Honestly, I think you’d be perfect. Big, scary, and… a bit older. Seems like a match to me."

Razmirov (crossing his arms, annoyed):
"Scary? Santa isn’t supposed to scare kids!"

Ch'en (smirking):
"Well, you are the oldest one here. And with your ‘eternal warrior’ aura, you’re bound to make an impact."

Razmirov scoffs, running a hand over his face.

Razmirov:
"Santa’s a fatass, jolly old fool. Do I look like either of those things to you?"

Hoshiguma (chuckling):
"Come on, it’s Christmas! Besides, don’t you want to… spread joy or something?"

Razmirov looks around, desperate to escape, but Ch'en’s sharp gaze keeps him in place.

Ch'en (in a tone that leaves no room for argument and with a sharp voice ):
"hey, I’m your commanding officer. You’re going to play Santa this year, or I’ll personally throw you out of the building. Got it?"

Hoshiguma and Swire share a delighted look, clearly enjoying seeing Ch'en take command. Razmirov’s shoulders slump, and he mutters under his breath.

Razmirov: "Fine. Let’s get this over with. Just give me the stupid suit."

Ch'en gestures toward a small room, where a comically oversized Santa costume is waiting for him. With a sigh of defeat, Razmirov heads in to change.

Scene 2: The Transformation of Razmirov

A moment later, Razmirov emerges in a bright red Santa suit, white beard askew, and a look of utter misery on his face. Hoshiguma and Swire burst out laughing, their laughter echoing through the room.

Hoshiguma(doubling over with laughter):
"Oh… oh, Razmirov, I never thought I’d see the day! You look little creepy tho"

Swire(struggling to breathe between laughs):
"You’re… perfect! A Santa straight out of a horror movie! and with that bad cop look

*Razmirov stands awkwardly, glaring at them both, trying to adjust the beard that keeps slipping down.

Razmirov(grumbling):
"Can we just get this over with? I don’t need an audience for this humiliation."

Ch'en steps forward, barely managing to keep a straight face herself.

Ch'en (mock-serious):
"Remember, you’re Santa now. Try to look… approachable? Less like you’re about to interrogate the kids."

Razmirov lets out a frustrated sigh and forces himself into the oversized Santa chair near a brightly lit Christmas tree, complete with twinkling lights and a mountain of wrapped presents.

Scene 3: Santa Duty - The Kids Arrive

The doors swing open, and a group of excited children rushes in, their eyes wide with anticipation as they see Razmirov in his Santa outfit. The first child cautiously approaches, staring at Razmirov’s stern face with a mix of fear and curiosity.

Razmirov (in a deadpan tone, handing the child a gift):
" ho ho ho Merry Christmas. Here, take this. Next."

The child grabs the gift and quickly retreats, his face a mix of excitement and terror.

Hoshiguma(whispering to Ch'en, stifling laughter):
"Maybe he’s a little friendler"

Ch'en (smiling faintly):
"Let’s just hope he doesn’t scare off all the kids."

On the nearby rooftop, Exusiai and Texas are on watch, keeping an eye out for any suspicious activity. Exusiai, binoculars in hand, keeps sneaking glances at Razmirov’s “Santa act” and giggling.

Exusiai(through her binoculars, snickering):
"This is gold. Razmirov as Santa? Who thought this was a good idea?"

Texas (smiling slightly):
"It’s definitely… memorable."

Ch'en: (over the radio):
any suspicious activity out there?"

Exusiai:
"Nope, Ch'en. Just… enjoying the view of our ‘Grinch Santa’ down there."

Exusiai switches her radio to Razmirov’s channel, trying to keep her voice steady.

Exusiai:
"Hey, Santa! Maybe… try smiling a little? You look like you’re about to start a fight."

Razmirov (through gritted teeth):
"If you don’t stop, I’ll come up ther..

Before Razmirov finish his words Swire, overhearing, smacks Razmirov on the back of his head.

Swire:
"Quiet, Santa! Stick to the role—kids don’t need to hear you threatening people."

#Scene 4: A Troublesome Kid

A kid approaches Razmirov, looking defiant. Razmirov immediately recognizes him as a troublemaker from last year.

Razmirov(narrowing his eyes):
"Wait a second… haven’t I seen you already?"

Kid(crossing his arms):
"Nope."

Razmirov (voice rising slightly):
"Don’t lie to me, kid. You already got a present."

The kid rolls his eyes, then suddenly stomps on Razmirov’s foot.

Kid : TAKE THAT SANTA!!

Razmirov (yelling):
You little—"

Before he can finish, Ch'en steps in, shooting Razmirov a warning look.*

Ch'en:
"Easy there, Santa. Remember, it’s Christmas."

Hoshiguma grabs the kid, laughing as she gives him a gentle talking-to.*

Hoshiguma:
"Hey, you can’t mess with Santa like that. He might be a grumpy old guy, but he’s here to give you presents."

The kid reluctantly apologizes, and Razmirov mutters something under his breath as he hands over a gift, shooting the child a frustrated glare.

#Scene 5: Ch'en’s Final Warning

After the last child leaves, Razmirov slumps back in his chair, looking utterly drained. Ch'en approaches him with a small, knowing smile.

Ch'en "Not so bad, was it?"

Razmirov(scowling):
"If I never do this again, it’ll be too soon."

Ch'en(leaning close, voice dropping to a warning tone):
"And if you ever make a scene like that again, I’ll personally make sure you regret it. Smile, for heaven’s sake."

Razmirov tries another smile, but it’s more of a grimace. Ch'en sighs.

Ch'en "On second thought… maybe it’s better if you don’t smile."

She pats him on the shoulder and walks away, leaving Razmirov sitting under the Christmas tree, surrounded by decorations and feeling strangely content.

#Final Scene: Back on the Rooftop

As the snow falls, Exusiai and Texas observe the scene below. Exusiai chuckles one last time.

Exusiai (whispering to Texas):
"Well, that was one Christmas we’ll never forget."

Texas (smiling):
"Yeah. Maybe next year, he’ll volunteer."

The episode ends with a zoomed-out view of the festively decorated Lungmen, as Razmirov sighs in resignation but glances around with a faint, genuine smile as the lights glisten around him.

I was reading some of the data I collected in This Survey and turns out a large amount of people have not read the Arknights Mangas. I understand A1 operation detachment as it has a fan translation only to chapter 6 but others not so much.

Ones that were particularly egrigious was Rhodes Kitchen -TIDBITS- a cooking manga with the classic Arknights depression flair

Okay so clickbait title but not really. Was playing IS and got the Civilight Eterna collectible which only Amiya could use but it did lead to this funny interaction. Logos’s execute is coded as 999k unavoidable true damage to the target, so when you get the black crown the damage becomes visible and the number is so big it needs an extra row to fit all the digits. It’s completely useless for obvious reasons but I wonder if that might be technically the highest damage possible in a single tick.

Also unrelated but I tried S1 in ItW out of curiosity, and I found out it (sort of) cannot execute Waregeists. What happens is that the Waregeists have single/double digit HP so it does the execute damage immediately, but that still only counts as a single hit for their hit count requirement, and the execute won’t apply again unless they somehow leave then reenter the field. So don’t use S1 if we get Waregeists or something similar again in a future event.

So used to seeing the typical reddit post about when headhunt ends to avoid tragedy so it surprised me to see it in in-game mail!
