Does anyone know where I can buy my absolute favorite IPA beer- Tombstone?? I love the hazy, double and especially the triple😊 I live too far away from the Tombstone Brewery to go there routinely. TIA
Hey everyone,
As a single mom looking for a cozy spot to unwind in Arizona, I’m on the lookout for a great bar where I can relax and maybe even enjoy a night out with my little one. Any recommendations for a family-friendly spot with a welcoming atmosphere, perhaps offering non-alcoholic options and maybe some live music or entertainment? I’d love to hear your favorite places to grab a drink and chill out in the Grand Canyon State!
Hope this is allowed! Please let me know if I need to remove the post. Looking to get someone started on brewing here in AZ.
Im moving and would like to sell a Pico Brew System. It’s never been used, still in original box, comes with 1 cartridge and the Pico Free adapter so you can use the Small Brew Companion (SBC) program for your own brews.
I ended up with it when my roommate moved away. I was hopeful I’d use it one day so I bought the Pico Free adapter to use with the SBC. But I never bought a computer to use the SBC so the Pico stuff was left unused.
My only ask is you come pick it up and $50 to comp the price of the Pico Free Adapter. I’m in central Phx. DM if you’re interested
I'm looking for good bottle shops around AZ that have a good selection of Lambics.
I travel around the state frequently so the location doesn't really matter.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Cheers!
Does Arizona have a regional beer like Lone Star in Texas, Grain Belt in Minny or Old Style in Chicago?
What happened with Simple Machine in Glendale? They were open for a hot minute and then just closed.
Beer Week is almost here. Was looking through the events - it seems that this hasn't recovered from the pandemic. Beer Week used to be packed with 2-3 great events around Phoenix each day. This year looks really sparse. Strong Festival is cool and all...but the smaller unique events were the best. I still remember the New Belgium sour beer and cheese (paired and provided by Wedge & Bottle) like it was yesterday.
We have started a place to share pictures of all your home brew creations when it comes to beer, mead, or wine! Show us what you’ve got!!
Hi.. I'm here in AZ and my fav place was angels trumpet and Kings Beer under Mickey Salem when he lived here. ..
My question is since he returned to NY what have been your go tos to replace the void if Kings was on your list of best places. Have you returned to kings to hang out while the new owner operater is in .. Thanks a bunch
I hope this isn't too annoying/naive of a post. But I love craft beer and I co-own a small retail building that I would like to have host a craft beer shop (and wine, I guess, ugh). It's in north central Phoenix. We have a specialty coffee shop going in the building and potentially a small food concept and art gallery/studio. The remaining suite would be great for something along the lines of Kings or smaller Theodore. Meaning to-go sales and on-premise consumption.
Ideally, I'd like to find someone who wants to be a tenant and run their own thing. But I'm willing to help launch it if there's a viable way to do it. I do not know the economic of these shops, so I'm hoping to talk to folks who do.
If anyone is interested in this sort of thing, knows someone who is, or is willing to share their expertise, please send me a message or email me (info@509phx.com).
I'm visiting family in Glendale for several days around Christmas, and will have a car. I brew beer in Houston, and would love to connect with any cool brewery folk. Taste preference is hop forward lagers, but I'm open to nearly any good beer. Any recs on specific beers or places besides the usuals?
Will be passing through over New Year's. Are any breweries known to be open that night through New Year's? Looking for a low key sort of thing, brewery seems like a decent place for that.
Or other suggestions?
Dillinger on 4th Ave in Tucson will be under new ownership and branding after 10/31. Popped over there this evening to enjoy their MangoNada while I could. One of my fave AZ sours especially with a taijin rim! Usually I don't like mango but this one is delicious.
Truly a hidden gem in Tucson. I've been there twice in the past month. Solid beer that matches their description of their beer. Relaxed atmosphere with comfortable seating. And who doesn't love $5 pints? My faves there are Strawberry Circuit (fruited sour with lactose), Colour Blind (White Stout), and their Oktoberfest festbier. Strawberry Circuit is a well balanced sour. The tartness is delicately balanced by the lactose without making it too creamy or sweet. Colour Blind is best allowed to warm a bit so the marshmallow and caramel notes can truly shine. Thier Oktoberfest is malty, slightly sweet, and slightly roasted. If you are in the area don't miss your opportunity and head on over.
What are the best craft beer stores in PHX/Scottsdale for most local variety and beyond?
Super pretty beer but not quite my thing. I found the flavor very earthy and herbal without the balancing sweetness I would like. Those that like earthy and/or herbal brews will probably enjoy it. Brewed by Crooked Tooth Brewing in Tucson.
Spent the weekend in Phoenix for a short vacation. Headed over to Wren House on Friday evening. They have a comfortable tap room with a variety of seating. I was a little surprised they don't offer beer flights but you can order 5 oz. or 8 oz. of two at a time. I tried a bit of everything but Pondo (cream ale) and Lady Banks (sour) were really hitting the spot with how warm and humid it was this weekend.
Spent a couple hours at Crooked Tooth this evening for the first time in a while. I was really excited to try their Thunder Moon seasonal but it wasn't quite what I was looking for. I did fall in love with Strawberry Moon and Main Squeeze. Both were quite tart, refreshing, and crushable. Perfect for this time of year.
Where should I try one?
Are you allowed to bring coolers onto the course, specifically Rolling Hills golf course in Tempe?
I will be visiting Phoenix next month and I'm interested in sampling the local brews :) I'm open to anything, but my personal preferences are for NEIPAs, saisons, and anything barrel-aged. Thanks in advance!
I definitely need a four pack just for the can.
Coming to Tucson from Canada for a wedding, anywhere you would recommend? From a preference perspective, I myself like pretty much anything except hazy IPAs, but I'm open to anything that might best represent the Tucson craft beer scene as a shining example. I probably have time for one, maybe two breweries at most (though it sounds like most of them are in the same neck of the woods around Maclovio Barraza Parkway), but open to any and all suggestions that you might have!
Open to options with or without food, would also be open to a pub that has good food with a decent local taplist.
Recommendations for drinks before a game @ Chase Field? It is a 1240pm game in June. Staying in Tempe but trying to golf at 630-7am before the game.
Hey all, making a trip down to Phoenix in late march and am looking for some recommendations for places to stop by (bottle shops, breweries). We are coming down for Superstition and plan on hitting Wren house. We are planning on staying in between these two spots.
Bonus question: I'm looking for some Schramm's and heard that it distros to phoenix. Any recs for my best chance at finding some?
