I had always been curious of what the first song Alex was singing to bait the audience before doing Cornerstone on Glastonbury 2013. I realised he sang some words, but saw that the crowd probably didn't recognise it, then he sang the first words for Yellow instead only to have the entire festival singing. Maybe it was his 'Sheffield's Elvis' singing accent, but I always thought he sang 'So long, in years before...' rather than 'Stone love, she kneels before the grave.' So I tried looking up the lyrics for this mysterious song but couldn't find it.
I feel a bit silly since I was a Bowie fan before an AM fan lol

What is your favorite lyric that Alex says live? Like, you like the way he changes it or you just like the way it sounds.
For me, it's the "you walked" in Knee Socks live at Royal Albert Hall.

Hello! I havent been around here for a while. I recently re-listened Love Is a Laserquest and its bizarre how much my perspective about the lyrics has changed since I was a teenager. I guess I have lived more. It inspired me to draw this brief animation on procreate.
Let me know what you think! https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGdhRVJaU/

I know this isn’t an Arctic Monkeys song, but, gosh I love this song. Also, not a singer at all. Nor a very good guitar player.
I remember an interview from 2005 or 2006, where Zane Lowe is interviewing them and talks about the "breakdown" during I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor, that Alex can just let the audience sing that part. Any ideas which interview that was? I think they're in a bar or something
Both the strokes and Arctic monkeys had massive success on their debut but which one would you consider a better album of the two?
Hi, I’m looking for information on tour posters from the UK leg of the AM tour in 2013, I’m specifically looking for the poster from the Cardiff show that was on the 29th October 2013. I’ve searched around the internet and found the posters for a lot of shows during the AM era but nothing from the UK leg of the tour which makes me think that maybe no posters got produced for these shows? Any help would be appreciated, I collect posters from shows I’ve been to and this is the only Arctic Monkeys one I am missing!
Tried making a TBHC poster.
All of their birth dates line up... Nicholas O' Malley - 5 July 1985 Alex Turner - 6 January 1986 Matt Helders - 7 May 1986 Jamie Cook - 8 July 1985 That's such a strange little detail (Yes , I desperately need a new album🥹)
Hi, I’m a big fan of the Arctic Monkeys. I’ve been playing guitar for a few years, and I’m obsessed with the sound of 12-string guitars. Usually, Alex uses his Vox Starstream XII only for Do I Wanna Know, but I’ve found two performances during The Car tour where he plays Cornerstone and Mardy Bum with that guitar.
Do you know if there are other cases where he use that guitar for other songs?
I saw a video pop up on social media last night of some fans asking Miles about when TLSP3 will happen and it made me think about how often he is asked about it or asked about working with Alex in every interview and he always looks so sad about it.
Do you think he resents it in a way? In the same way Alexander Saviour resents how everybody asked her about Alex on her press run of her first album.
Obviously they have both been rewarded with massive audiences because of it but I wish people would stop associating Alex with other people.
we all know each Arctic Monkeys album sounds very different and each are basically new genres so what vibe do we think AM8 is going to be? 😆
Telling my kids this is Alex
You can split up everything Alex Turner does between Arctic Monkeys and The Last Shadow Puppets into trilogies of albums, along with where they were recorded.
Era 1 (2006-2008) (All recorded in Europe)
Era 2 (2009-2013) (All recorded in America)
Era 3 (2016-2022)
Era 4 (????-????)
I'm looking for an interview where Alex explains that while they were recording the album version of "I bet you look good on the dancefloor", the music video for it was already passing on tv, so he says something along the lines that it was weird to record it and in the next room see themselves playing it on tv. Anyone know which interview it is?
And a chicken (or a dickhead?)
I really want to know what you UK Arctic Monkeys fans think about these guys.
I'm an American, so maybe it's gone under my radar. But this shit is pretty hilarious, if I'm putting it bluntly.
It's like they took the "I miss the old Arctic Monkeys" sentiment in the UK, and removed it of any and all character. Some of these songs legitimately sound like if you took WPSIATWIN (and a little FWN. I'll be generous) and passed it through an AI music program. It's like all the Creed/Puddle of Mudd type bands trying to do Nirvana, but without the whole troublesome "art" or "provocative" aspects.
Tell me what you think of them, UK friends. Maybe some of you like them and I'm totally off with my opinion
You guys should all listen to the swamp by graveyard
