I have a project where I have to find a poetic song and analyze it, however every AM song I find is either the cliche love poem or NOT appropriate to present to many people. What song would you all choose?
I really slept on this song. Lovely vocals and lyrics in this one. Maybe the most underrated song on TBHC
is that still a thing? are there any rumors or news about this? haven't been in this sub for a while, so I have absolutely no idea
Hey guys. I seem to recall Alex mentioning a specific O. Henry story in an interview once. I’m not sure if it was print or video, or if it was for the Last Shadow Puppets or Arctic Monkeys. But I’ve found an old copy of an O. Henry Collection, and I wanted to read Alex’s suggestion. Any help would be much appreciated, thank you all so much!
I love their other 2012-2014 era songs. Electricity, you’re so dark and their Drake, Tame Impala, Beatles and Katy B covers are underrated as hell
Apologies if this isn’t allowed but I’m going to a concert at the Emirates Stadium next year but there aren’t many photos of views from seats for concerts. I’m going to be in block 113, row 17. I know Arctic Monkeys did a show there last year so I wondered if you were sat in a similar place, could you show me what your view was like? Thanks :)
I made this video about the final show of The Car Tour. I thought y’all would enjoy this here :)
This song has some odd standing in the fandom I reckon. A few years ago when I was on this sub it seemed like it was slightly meme-able and maybe put in the same category as Brick by Brick. However, I think this song is a behemoth tune.
The guitar is heavy as fuck and the chugging riff is epic. The lyrics aren’t great, but they are kind of nonsensically sleazy in a good way. Like the line “Bite the Lightning and tell me how it tastes” is pretty epic.
Try to blare this song when you are driving and try not to get a speeding ticket. Nah, just kidding, but it kinda does have Queens of the Stone Age type stoner rock heaviness.
Okay, I can already sniff out the downvotes.
I have never had a problem with Brick by Brick (for my convenience, BbB.) Dare I say I like the song. However, everyone in this subreddit seems to have quite a problem with it. I mean, I get it. It's repetitive and honestly not even close to the level of the rest of SIAS. However, IDST is incredibly similar and I see absolutely no hate towards it. I mean, Idek what IDST stands for. At least I know the meaning of BbB.
So, could someone explain why we hate on BbB and not IDST? I like both songs, but I'm just confused.
I Wanna Be Yours for me.
What or who is whispering at the end of body paint like right around 4:29. Idk if someone has all ready posted this but I found this cool.
In the intro:
Advertise in imaginative ways, start your free trial today
Come on in, the water's lovely
Look, you could meet someone you like...
I always heard it as
Advertising in imaginative ways, start your free trial today
Come on, new waters
Lovely Look, you could meet someone you like...
Did you guys hear something else?
Side note (lyric interpretation imo should be a flair)
In piledriver Waltz Alex says “If you're gonna try and walk on water Make sure you wear your comfortable shoes” what does this mean?
Does anybody know any albums that have a similiar haunting mood like humbug does? I've never heard anything quite like it and I would love to hear more albums like that.
IMO it’s brainstorm “brian” lol
It has the long delay guitar, the muted trumpet and the slow chords that would fit naturally into any Bond score.
Every time I hear it, I wonder how the hell Alex hasn't gotten a bond theme yet...
Seems like a fever dream now, and did they just end up standardising it since?
It's Teddy Picker for me. Though I like FWN, I usually skipped this song and never really listened to it. Recently I decided to check out its music video and was pleasantly surprised with how awesome the song actually was and how much I missed out on. I especially love the bridge. Really fits well with the album
I was listening to “Leave Before The Lights Come On” by Arctic Monkeys and thought it sounded similar to “Sex Sells” by Lovejoy. Am I crazy or are there similarities?? May be controversial because of Wilbur Soot but idk I would just like to know if anyone thinks the same as me.
