Hola comrades, I'm a disabled native american artist waiting on my disability appeal to get approved, while living with a chronic illness and I'm struggling hardcore for rent and even just basics like food and cat food/Rx for my elderly cat. I have liver disease and acute kidney trauma and so I need to take tons of supplements and eat healthy food. I have a lot of pain but am unable to take painkillers (not even tylenol or nsaids) due to my damaged liver, which keeps me from working at my regular job as a florist. It's been tough and I'm honestly down to nothing and have had to have potatoes for days... Why?
Hunger in Brazil has worsened since the beginning of the pandemic. Study of Food Security and Hunger in the World reveals that about 5 million people are malnourished in Brazil. This reality may become even worse in the coming years with the return of the growth of poverty and extreme poverty in Brazil.

We have completed a year of pandemic in Brazil. Unfortunately, we passed the mark of more than 270 thousand dead with the prospect that the social and economic consequences can be much more brutal, especially with the lack of action by this government. Unemployment continues to rise along with food prices. The gas cylinder exceeds 100 reais in most cities in the country. Hunger leaves the news and begins to guide the urgency of our actions.

A year later, our fight is not over. We want to build Solidarity Kitchens so that families on the peripheries have their nutrient-rich food guaranteed. The right to healthy and nutritional food should be a right for the entire population.

So we have rented a transport van for $130, filled out with supplies, drove to Miami, and now have a van bed full of mama and commerce friendly supplies for Mamas in a rural community in Haiti. A friend who works on a freighter and can get it all shipped for $200. There is $100 to go!!! Even $5 will get us there in no time. I have to drop it off at dock-hands house at 7:30 pm tonight. So talk about a fire being lit! Woot!

Supplies, like shoes, clothes, dishes, soap, antibiotic cream, iceboxes, have been logged and named so that items go to particular people based on level of need and so that alot of items can be distributed to very small scale merchant women who support children and extended family based on resale proceeds.
