When Moiraine gets her powers back and opens the Waygate. It's a softer version of her main theme's motif.
Does anyone have an inkling of when the season will air? I've been excited for the upcoming season but the community has been really quite as of late. Does somebody have an idea if this third season will air before ROP or after? It's kind of mind boggling at thing point, especially when both shows have wrapped filming and there's no teasers or trailers as of yet. What exactly is Amazon waiting for? This topic might have been discussed already but I can't find a specific post talking about it.
How do you think the perception of characters will differ between mediums? There will obviously be differences between the books and show and so the characters will come across differently in each.
In particular, I want to think about Egwene. This is because, Egwene is probably the most divisive character in the books with a large number of people who love her and large number who hate her. However, there will certainly be changes to her character that will make show watchers view her differently. For example, I very much doubt there will be anything like the infamous fires of heaven chapter. And therefore, I think Egwene will not necessarily be more liked, but have a greater proportion of people think of her favourably.
In addition, Rand will be another character with a lot of changes. I don’t think that Rand will be as liked for show watchers as Rand is one of the best characters ever created (imo) and so it will be extremely difficult to live up to that no matter how brilliantly it is put to screen. And therefore creating a divide in opinion for book readers and show watchers.
How do you think the perception of the characters will be different for only show watchers as they won’t have an opinion that will carry across the mediums.
And finally, as someone who has consumed both forms, how is your opinion different between the show and books?
Spoilers for ALL books!
Personally, I hope they develop more interactions between Egwene and Mazrim Taim throughout the show, which will make her final sacrifice all the more impactful and a bit more personal.
Also, even though I doubt they will adapt the eventual relationship between Moiraine and Thom, I would still love to see a close friendship between them developed which was sort of missing from the books.
I’d also like to see Perrin be involved with more main characters, unlike how in the books he spends forever separated doing his own thing. More scenes with him (and Faile) interacting with Rand, Mat, the Wonder Girls, etc.
Similarly, more Mat and his Band of the Red Hand actually fighting WITH Rand instead of far away. I think a lot of their scenes, particularly battles, can be combined so our two boys can be together.

Do you think we’ll get this battle in the show? 3rd or 4th season?
The Battle of Cairhein.
Compared to other big battles (two rivers, Dumais Wells, Falme, etc) I feel like this one doesn’t get as much attention in the fandom. I was listening to this 3 hour podcast where fans were predicting what will happen in the show, and they totally skipped over mentioning it. But I think it has lots of opportunity in the show- it can show how post-Rhuidean Rand is introduced to Eastern Randland as the Car’a’carn, how he gets settled into his first real “rulership” of a nation (though it’s more him choosing the ruler). It was the first introduction of Sammael (or whatever forsaken gets his storyline). It shows Mat’s battle memories/luck come into play big time, and he accidentally starts the Band of the Red Hand here. He also kills Couladin (which might be given to Rand in the show). It utilized Egwene’s powers in a cool way during the battle. And showed the prowess of the Aiel in full-scale battle, as well as highlighting the historic tensions of Cairhein and the Aiel from the war.
Do you think it will go down similarly in the show, or will they totally re-shape it (for instance move the battle to Caemlyn or Tear, or have Mat’s story be somewhere else)? Will they show it next season or the following? I think next season will end with cuts between Battle of two rivers and the Battle of Cold Rocks Hold, then we’ll get Cairhein at the beginning of season 4. Assuming Mat and the girls are in Tanchico next season, this will give him time to be involved in the battle.
Yes, I'm quite the fan. But I wouldn't have picked most of the below scenes as my top 10. A lot of them were plain dialog. And yet seeing it in this format made me realize the dialog is really quite decent.

My thoughts are that the show is a pretty good balance. Decent dialog for a fantasy show. Not quite Heart of The Dragon, but more fun. Heart of the The Dragon, which is a little more high brow, can be a little bit stuffy so far. At the same time, the show is significantly more refined than The Witcher, which cuts it too close to cheesy fantasy for me. I tend to like my shows just a little more serious that than.
What do you think?
Hello!
I'm currently working on remaking Moiraine's white tower dress, and am having trouble identifying the most accurate tie dye method that lead to the one in the show. The closest I've found is Arashi Shibori (fabric wrapped and bound around a pole, scrunched together, then dyed), but the pattern doesn't feel quite right..
Aside from the color needing to be much deeper / left longer (I only did 10 min with Rit dye more for synthetics), could anyone point me in the direction of the right tying / dying method to try next?
