So i’ve been doing private wiccan rituals in a graveyard at night for a while now. ( usually around 1am},nothing crazy, just meditation, energy work, and quiet reflection. i bring some candles, set up a little altar, make a salt circle, and just sit there in the dark, taking in the atmosphere. it’s peaceful, eerie, but in a way that i like

never had any issues. until last night

i was deep into my meditation, eyes closed, completely zoned out. it was dead silent, no wind, no noises, just me in the circle. then out of nowhere i hear footsteps on the gravel path

i ignore it at first, thinking it’s just my brain playing tricks. then i hear panting. not human. a dog

i open my eyes and standing right at the edge of my salt circle is a dog just staring at me. behind him, holding the leash, is an old man who clearly was not expecting to walk into whatever the hell i was doing

we just stared at each other for what felt like forever. he’s looking at my setu candles, the pentacle, me sitting cross-legged inside a perfect circle of salt like i’m summoning somethin and he looked so confused

and my brain just stops working, like full shutdown, and the only thing that comes out of my mouth is “evening” hahahaha

the dude just blinks, nods slightly, and without saying a word grabs his dog and walks off at record speed. i don’t even know if he was scared or just didn’t want to get involved, but i sat there for a good minute just trying to process what just happened

so yeah, i think i might need a new graveyard. or maybe this guy now has a story to tell for the rest of his life

I have been doing this for a few months now and this is my first encounter with somebody else which gives me anxiety to do it again. lol

I’m a solo practitioner, rediscovering my craft after being urged to do so by a medium. I have been trying to balance and cleanse my energy prior to any spell or spirit work, but it’s been increasingly hard to do so of late given the state of the world. I have a lot of anxiety, profound sadness, and anger that teeters upon rage. Is there a way to harness this energy - even though it’s negative - for positive and light spell work? It feels hot and powerful, but I don’t know what to safely do with it.

I'm wanting to start my witchcraft journey, but I have some questions. I am from an Italian background (however my family is Catholic), and would like to incorporate traditional Italian practices, however, my research into it seems to show that most Italian witchcraft is associated with polytheistic religions/spiritualities. I am autistic and just can't find scientific reasoning to justify this belief, but still want to feel spiritually connected to the earth and my heritage. Any advice?

I was thinking invisibility spell, but all the ones I have seen are more about when you are in physical proximity. I am more looking for something that redirects attention regardless of where we both are. Maybe I’m just thinking about it too hard.

Hi everyone! Does anyone have a good online source for a clear quartz 40-45mm crystal ball? I don't have a conveniently located local store, and while I know you can buy plenty on etsy and even Amazon, I tried buying a couple that I ended up returning either because the size was inaccurate or they were too cloudy/had too many inclusions for scrying (I know you can scry in a clouded ball, dark mirror, obsidian, etc, and I have, but the current work I'm doing prefers clear crystal).

long story short, i collect teeth. a former friend had one of his teeth extracted overseas, and as a gift, brought it home to give to me. fast forward a few months, turns out the friend is actually a horrible person and we cut ties on very bad terms. i have always been on the unimaginably unlucky side (its where my interest in spirituality originally stemmed from), but i feel this tooth carries around too much gross residual energy from its original owner that has been negatively affecting me and my ability to stay connected with my spirituality, and now i'm not sure what to do with it.
my first thought was to get rid of it, but one of my highly-attuned friends suggested i harness that energy and use it.
unfortunately, i'm not sure how to do either.
so my question is: what would you do with it?
would it be better to dispose of it and get it out of my house? if so, how should i contain it? how do i even dispose of it?
or if you were to use it, perhaps in a spell jar or something contained, what kind of spells would be capable of containing and redirecting that gross energy? what positivity can i conduct through my spellwork with such a charged material?

i like to browse different spells and their components and usually build spells for myself with elements that work for me, but having such a raw organic material that is SO tied into someone else, i don't feel equipped to be able to effectively frankenstein spells to my own power from just searching alone. it is kind of a unique situation, and any perspective and guidance would be deeply helpful and appreciated!

I added lavender because I know it works on the emotional body. I also used my hair.

It's been 2 weeks and I'm recently "seeing" the inner critic so much! OH MY GOD it's like I'm living with an asshole inside my head!

Is this the way the spell is working? Putting a magnifying glass on this "entity" or "voice"? I also "saw" who it came from. This is all happening at random moments during the day.

I have deep roots to the Appalachian mountains, Cherokee ancestors very far back, and a whole side of my family line on my maternal side goes back 200-300 years living in those mountains.

I just learned today that forms of witchcraft and folk magic were very common especially in rural areas, where my family lived, and that’s the root of all of my superstitions. I have always felt connected to the land when I go back there, I feel like I’m home. I also make apple butter, as the women in my family have done for generations, and it feels like my body is taken over when I make it. It feels like they are all around me moving the stick in my hands.

This is explaining so much for me, and I’m so proud to have this heritage. I have been feeling my Southern ancestors close by lately, now I know why 🩷

I work with goddess old and new mainly Hecate this spell I wrote a while back say it with intention and it works every time.

I use this spell with my money bowls and first of the month ritual every month and ever since things have changed for the better.

So basically I know candle magic exists and a lot of people use fire to burn their ingredients and I recognize for the element of water a lot of people use things like simmer pots, water bodies and such but I started wondering. How would someone use the elements earth and air as mediums for their spells? I figure spirit would be incorporating all 4 elements into the spell as medium one way or another. Something else I'd figured they'd something related to the elements within their spells. Any help and knowledge is greatly appreciated

I was walking with my dog in a field and she altered me to an animal laying face down. At first I thought it might have been a chicken or something since it was a large bird and I live in town. But on further inspection it was sadly a Barred Owl. I have never suddenly stumbled upon a deceased owl. And I know there always coincidences. But I also know there is a lot of lore and superstition on owls as well. And I was wondering if anyone had insight on stumbling upon a dead owl

We moved into this house a couple months ago, and I don't take my crystals outside at all. But coming home from work today, I just found one of my rose quartz outside, in the dirt. I wasn't looking for it, or looking too closely at the dirt. I just walked past and noticed it on the ground.

I know realistically, I probably dropped it during the move and never realized. I know my crystal didn't get up and move over night. But I'm curious what you guys think? What that could mean, if anything?

Hi everyone, I have very little knowledge of spirituality or witchcraft, but my best friend is a big believer in spiritual practices, crystals, and astrology. Last night, she was in a car accident and has been in the ICU undergoing multiple emergency surgeries. The doctors are uncertain if she will survive, and if she does they said her health will be permanently affected.

I feel completely powerless, but I want to do something for her, especially since she had so much faith in spirituality and would often do rituals and practices. If anyone has any advice or knows of any spiritual practices, rituals, or anything I can do to support her or help, I would really appreciate it.

Smth else, is it me or every witch even in social media try to protect or does not show her true name. Yes, it is common for witches to do so. It is believed that it's sacred and shall not be given like that. So the question here:

-does it actually feel the same to write ur own name in spells, like love, protection ect.. since it is sacred then how can it be okay to use it for spells, or given to spirits, is that okay to do so?

Hello! I'm very very new to understandings and learning about witchcraft. I have started to make lists of books to read and videos to watch. I want to understand how to properly start my journey, especially connecting more with nature and the moon. I started off researching Sigils, Alters, Deity and Protection spells, since I have seen posts saying that protection spells are the best to start off with, and I wanted to ask for more information about that from the community as well! My ultimate goal that I want to achieve is to better myself as a person, mentally and emotionally to where I can succeed in life and I hope that maybe I can learn to protect myself and others I care about. :) Please correct me if I'm wrong about something!

I planned to do a healing spell for someone else today, but I’m now feeling under the weather myself. Is it a good idea to go ahead with it? The spell is for general mental and physical healing, that I wanted to kick off now and work with over time. Unfortunately, I caught a flu, and I’m not feeling great. I’m worried that it’s a bad idea to do healing spell work while sick, and injecting that energy into it, so to speak.

Hi, so I'm trying to work on my own personal book of shadows and so far half of my sources say that allspice is represented by Mars and the other half say it's represented by Jupiter.

Like atm, two of the seven books I'm reading are Scott Cunningham's Wicca in the Kitchen and Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs and neither of them align. Their elements don't align either but MOST of my sources says Allspice represents the fire element, Idk if that's right tho..

I could really use some help, I don't have alot of books right now to get my information from because I'm a newbie to all of this but I do plan on expanding my library in the near future!

I’m going crazy! My crush is not in contact with me anymore it’s been a week since separation (separated due to moving) I found that an organization I occasionally worked got a new board member who look actually like my crush! I’m not delusional they look so much alike same eyes same smile same nose. Body type is also the same. The most scariest thing is that their personality is also alike! They even have the same talking style. That is not it. Their name is so similar my crush name is Aria and this person name is Daria… their last name sound similar too!! I did asked her if she have older sister or relative name Aria and she said no… they don’t know each other….. what happening? What did I do wrong or this is a test at some kind?

I’m sharing this because I often see witches who are very unsure of how to begin or deepen their practice… so I wanted to share how I practice and how the craft helps me stand in my truth.

I believe in witchcraft, there are few coincidences. This has led me to investigate the meaning behind things happening. I lost a special crystal and can’t find it no matter how I look? It must have gotten itself somewhere it was needed- to protect or support myself or someone I love. I forgot the ingredients for a letting go spell in my spell box? I must not be quite ready to let go and instead can use the time at the beach (where I tend to let go of things) to meditate and do some energetic cord cutting. My protection bracelet breaks in the middle of an outing? It did its job protecting me and the energy was all used up. I forgot to pray to Hekate today? She has a different sense of time and I can give her an offering to show I still care the next day.

Essentially, I never beat myself up over anything in my practice, because I believe it’s almost always for a reason. Or there is something I can do to fix it. I feel very little fear, because I know I am powerful and the knowledge of the craft runs in my veins. I trust my third eye intuition and let my own heart guide me in my practice.

Witches often ask how they can incorporate their practice into their every day lives, and this is a big way I do it. I let myself play and practice and have fun. I do little spells in my drinks and food, I take five minutes for a meditation, I randomly pick up my singing bowl and walk around just concentrating on the beautiful sound, I light some incense to provide energy for a spell when I have very little myself. I just allow myself to do and allow myself to BE and so much flows from that.

They want us to be afraid of our own power, our own intuition, our own truth. The best way I’ve found to overcome is to listen to the voice inside of me and let them guide me.

I’ve watched other witches practice this way as well and learned SO much. It’s beautiful to watch another practice with their intuition and innate knowledge they were born with. To see them hone their talents and increase their power.

So for any witches out there that feel unsure if they are doing it “right” or don’t even know where to start, reach out your heart to your intuition and listen to what you hear inside of yourself.

The world is full of messages right now that we are powerless and we can’t do anything about it. But we CAN do something. We can reject that narrative and trust in ourselves. Work on our own shadows and trauma patterns. Become the energy we want to see in the world. Follow our hearts no matter what they want us to believe.

You are more powerful and amazing than you know!
