Are there any neighborhoods/streets you recommend to go look at Christmas lights this holiday season? Any drive-thru light displays you may recommend? I really love Christmas and could use a little cheer this year and am trying to hit all the fun spots. Basically any light shows/streets you recommend and even Christmas market pop ups? I’m sure I can find a list of all the things somewhere but wanted to ask from people more local. I have been here about 2 years but I’m sure there’s things I’m missing!
I moved here a couple months ago and finally ready to find a gym here. Any decent memberships around here? I need 24/7 access otherwise not picky.
Hello everybody, I left Wichita in 2020 following my service in the marine corps after high school and I'm now in the last 6 months of my contract, I have a Job offering with Bombardier as a avionics technician which translates from my current job quite well.
I was seeing if anyone has suggestions for apartments that are a good long term temporary place (1-2 years) until my wife and I are ready for our first house. We have 2 cats and my sister in law will be moving with us as well, so our minimum accommodation would be 2 bed/2 bath, 1k sq ft.
Our top priorities are as follows:
Thank you!
Late there any restaurants in Wichita that have a play zone for toddlers in them besides Chick-fil-A?
Hello, we're moving and need to rehome our cat. We've listed her on Adopt-A-Pet and called all the shelters we can within a few hours drive. We don't have Facebook so we can't post on there. Most of the people we know are not good fits because they have dogs or move a lot like us. She's 7 and in good health. Idealy, she needs a family without other pets, but she is good with kids. Maybe an older person looking for a companion? We are unsure of where to go. Thanks in advance for your help!
Hello, So my therapist said I need a better support network, so I'm trying this. I just created this account to keep my identity hidden for now.
I'm 26M married, with 2 small kids. I'm a regional truck driver, so I have plenty of time to talk on the phone, but seldom time to text/type. This post took several hours to do since I could only work on it at stops. I'm in therapy for stress and anxiety related migraines, so I'm trying to find more people than just my wife to talk to. She's aware of this account, and fully supports this. We have a strong relationship, and she trusts that I will keep everything platonic, which I will. In fact, she's looking for a good friend as well. We are both introverts, so we don't really socialize well unless we have to, or until we are comfortable with people.
Aside from driving, I am an aspiring writer, horror movie and book fan, animal lover and keeper. I've worked many different jobs so I have a great number of skills, and am usually good at keeping a conversation going once I get comfortable with a person. In fact, sometimes it's hard for me to stop talking. I'm looking in the Wichita area because I live in Wichita, so if we hit it off, maybe we can actually hang out from time to time.
Something's I refuse to talk about, or get involved with is; *Politics *Religion *LGBTQ stuff(mostly pertaining to transgender stuff. I have my opinion, and don't need attacked for it just because it's different than someone else's. We are all entitled to our own opinion, and can have different beliefs but still be friends, I do support gay and lesbian stuff, and actually have had a few friends that fit both categories over the years) *I don't smoke weed, cigs, or vape
My favorite things to talk about are; *Smoked meats *Horror(anything) *Kids *Family *Animals(mostly exotic) *Traveling/adventure *Sexuality(kinks, fetishes, experiences, etc.)
So, if you think you think we would get along great, feel free to shoot me a message or comment on here. I'll respond when I can. Thanks for reading!

Hello all, My s/o and I will be moving to the area in late December or early January. He’ll be attending classes in Andover and I’ll be at Friend’s. Do y’all know of any small apartments/areas for rent? The cheaper side of things is ideal. Wichita seems like a big area and I’m confused looking at rental websites. My credit is pretty good if that’s necessary (600+ range). I’m just hoping for somewhere safer as I’ll be home alone at times while he’s at work and vice versa. Any good gyms? Preferred grocery stores? Coffee shops or places to study? Any 2nd shift industrial jobs? QA/Production/Warehouses?
Thanks in advance, y’all are so kind in this group.
I don't have a car and will rely mostly on Uber (which gets up there$$) or public transit, how is it?
I am moving to Wichita this summer for four months and am looking for a short term and furnished place. I am hoping to keep it under 1300k, but honestly as long as they allow me to bring my cat I can make it work. Is there any known places or any leads? Looking in the entirety of the Wichita area. Thank you!
Hey! I’m thinking about the forge fitness women’s class and was wondering how much it cost?? I don’t feel like getting called for a gym membership if I can’t even afford it.
Found a stray little kitten, and I’m gonna keep him at home for just tonight but I’m wondering if the shelter on hillside is accepting cats right now?
I’ve looked all over their website and can’t seem to find any info on it. If they aren’t, where could I go to drop him off at and make sure he’s at a good place?
So in unfortunate events I forgot to clean and drain my pool with the warm weather still here my pool is green, disgusting, and I’m out of shock does anyone know where I can possibly find shock treatment I have been unlucky finding any at all. TYIA
Buffalo wild wings pickle chips are okay but I want good!
Any ideas of places in Wichita that have them?
For those of you whom have gone through the rapid rehousing program, preferably in the last year, could you possibly comment some apartments that accept the program? We are hoping to stay in South Wichita where my son goes to school (special needs) & his dad works. I'm currently 25 wks pregnant and help care for my elderly mother but my pregnancy is complicated so I'm unable to really work until after the baby is born and I have some ovarian cysts removed. I am looking online and we will meet with salvation army to solidify the spot we have in the program- I'm just hoping for some lived experience advice.
Hi! I’m going to India (home country) for vacation and am looking for options to gift my mom something. Some souvenirs or something like that! Any suggestions are welcome, thanks!!
Hello fellow Wichitaians lol anyway, any good public auctions to be on the look out for any good junkyards good around the area? anyone selling a property/lots?
I have a son in college in Wichita and he has no true cold weather gear, what does he need for winters in Kansas? I'm in Texas so I'm clueless. TIA
Looking at buying a house in Haysville. Great little starter home. I personally liked Haysville but wanted the opinions of people that have lived here a while. The neighborhood I looked at was so so cute. Thank you.
Just accepted a job and am moving here in about a month. We will be living Northeast Wichita. I wanted to ask: what are some of your favorite parts of Wichita? We have 3 kids and are open to do a lot of things!
Also thanks to everyone who responded to my last post regarding flying out of your airport with no license! My trip was awesome!
First time getting my sensitive areas waxed, and I’d love to know of some gentle, trustworthy technicians in the area!
Or has hell finally arrived in Wichita lol
Does anyone know a ride service that provides a car seat. I’m getting custody of my kids and I don’t have a car right now. So I need a way to at least get them to doctor’s appointments when needed. Without having to lug around a car seat everywhere.
I haven’t tried any of the nail places in Wichita and I’m wanting to get a full set of acrylics done. Not wanting to spend an absurd amount of money. Also wanting a quality place to become a regular at. Any recs?
Seriously how is it that Eddys, Walser and others survive? They are constantly 10-20% higher than dealers in the OKC and KC markets and let’s not get into the Steven’s model of harass and milk the customers for as much as humanly possible. I don’t understand how they price.
Just the other day I was at Mel Hambelton for recall work and I overheard salesmen laughing about how they capped out this old guy with add ons to the point the bank won’t let them add anymore.
Anyways just a rant.
