Someone said on FB they saw a heavy ICE presence near Wenonah Elementary. I can't find an article or honestly anything to confirm that. Does anyone know anything? If it's not true, I will rip this post down right away.
Apparently they've done this before? I dunno, it's the first time I've ever heard of it. Having this event on a Monday from 10AM-3PM seems like an odd choice, but it is what it is. At the very least, it sounds interesting. Below is the info from their event page:

A friend of mine kept saying that there are drones constantly flying around these neighborhoods. I didn’t give much thought until she showed me in person and she’s right. It was a bright red light, hovering in one spot as if it’s watching, then turning and flying to another spot and watching more. Apparently it’s happening practically all day, every day. There are a bunch of other lights but they seem like planes/satellites as they’re smaller, and travel in a straight line at a constant speed

I keep hearing mentions of an upcoming bowling alley coming to Waynesboro. They're called "King and Queen Pins" and the address they list on their FB page (901 Broad Street) shows that they will be located in the Willow Oak Plaza shopping center right next to Roses.
Also, the categories they've listed themselves under is "Bowling Alley · Arcade · Miniature Golf Course". They could just be using those tags to attract a larger audience OR they will also have an arcade and mini golf course. That's exciting! I've always thought that some sort of indoor entertainment center like that would do well here. I guess we'll see. Either way I'm thrilled to see Waynesboro businesses continue to grow!

Anyone know of alternatives for fiber internet in DT Waynesboro other than LUMOS? Their prices have gotten a bit insane.
our old sectional is supposed to be picked up by the county. It's been on our curb for a week (i'm sure my neighbors love us) Today they said it "might" be next week for pick up.
I saw this on FB (and posted about it in /r/stuartsdraft), but I thought it might be good to post it here also, since it's only one town away. The Stuart's Draft Library is having a "Speed Friending" event this Saturday, Jan 25th. It's a pretty interesting concept! Here's the info:
Sometimes making new friends can be hard, but have no fear, the library is the answer with Speed Friending. Speed Friending is a platonic version of Speed Dating. Come to the Stuarts Draft Library to meet awesome people, five minutes at a time, at the end of the round you may have a new bestie!

We have a crawlspace house with a vapor barrier. During these cold temps at night should we be leaving a faucet on to drip to prevent freezing pipes?
Caught this on my dashcam Friday mid morning eastbound from exit 94 getting into I-64. Multiple sheets of ice flying off the white car in front of me. Mind your following distance and stay safe out there!
Does anyone have a really good barber recommendation? I am a mid 20’s guy. Typically get a simple tapered haircut. Have a barber I really like in Charlottesville but now that I’m living in waynesboro it makes it hard with my work schedule to get there. Thanks in advance!
Asking for a friend: what TV-equipped bar would one go to watch tonight’s postseason game which is apparently only available via Amazing Prime?
Recently received a bulletin from the city saying that federal funding for a project called "Alston Court" has been granted. Link to City website: https://www.waynesboro.va.us//CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=2492
The development is described as a "4.834-acre property to be used for the construction of four, 3-story garden-style apartment buildings along with a club house/leasing office."
But nothing in the article indicates where that might be. Anyone know? Is this the construction that's being done near River Edge Rehab and Nursing on Rosser?
edit: sorry for the mistake in the title -- it's "Alston" not "Alton"
Thinking about applying for a job with the city but I will wait a few weeks if they drug test. Does anyone know if the city tests job applicants or how strict they are?
I just moved here and have done 2 pickup orders so far. One on a Monday and one on a Sunday. Both times the orders have been delayed and the wait for pickup has been really long. Is this normal for this location or is it just coincidence?
Dear Internets,
Anyone's parents happen to record this or have a copy on VHS or DVD? My parents recorded over their copy decades ago and TO THIS DAY they bring it up everytime I see them. It's a big deal to them. I guess it will complete their set? I dunno. If I could borrow to transfer digitally, that would be just swell. Thanks!
There are two “new” stationary lights in the sky to the south. They appear right after sundown? I first noticed them on the 17th. Does anyone know anything about them? I assume it’s man made because they did not appear last night, although it would kinda cool if aliens celebrated Christmas too.
Anyone know why north Delphine ave was closed by police from around 5th Street interaction to the speedway on 12/16?
recommendations for a good body shop in town
Micah's Coffee just announced their return to Waynesboro in 2025! Apparently they've purchased land across the street from Waynesboro High School (right next to Kline's Dairy Bar) and construction will begin in January. Their address will be: 1211 West Main St, Waynesboro, VA 22980.
As you may already know, Kline's has been in the process of building their new "Espresso Bar" directly behind their current shop. This would put two coffee shops within a coffee bean's throw from each other.
Kline's Espresso Bar will be drive-thru only and I would assume that the new Micah's would be the same (since all of their other locations are drive-thru only). Although, it would be nice to have another coffee shop in town that you can sit in.
This would bring the total number of actual coffee shops in Waynesboro to 7! (Again, I realize that there are other places where you could get coffee (Crack O' Dawn, Wafflehouse, Weasie's, etc), but I wouldn't consider them straight up "coffee shops".)
Here are all of our coffee shops in alphabetical order:
Which one is your favorite?
Am needing a reputable shoe cobbler, and he's cited as the best in the area. But his last FB post mentioned his wife's stroke, and now conflicting info has his shop either closed or open. If you know which, could you please share what you know? Many thanks!
