Why doesn't wasp spray work anymore?

My neighbor has a wasp problem in their yard, and the bastards have occasionally been getting into my house somehow. I have wasp spray (the Spectracide Pro that keeps getting recommended) but it never seems to do anything more than ground them for a bit. Even the stuff that advertises that it kills on contact doesn't work. I don't know if it would eventually kill them because I always just stomp them once they're down. I can't imagine trying to take out a nest with this stuff, it seems less effective than soapy water.

Hello everybody, I’m planning a trip in Miami mid November and wanted to ask if I’m likely to meet agressive wasps bc I’m allergic and I’m also done with them (I hope). I wanna make sure I will not hear those bitch ass bitches buzzing around my face

I have a problem with wasps in my apartment

We had a nest outside in the hallway to a terrace next to my bathroom window, I didnt think much of it since I have a mosquito net, and my window was just cracked like couple milimeters, but they found some kind of little whole on the side of the mosquito net.

Unfortunately I dint see it or think anything of this nest outside since the landlord would take care of it. I went away for almost a month, to come home to 100s of wasps in the apartment. I have killed all I can see, I have sealed every hole, crack, cranny I can see a couple of days ago, but they still seem to come in numbers.

I cannot see them crawling anywhere in particular, dont see them in mass anywhere, cant see them hovering over somewhere where there could be a nest. I stand looking in the room to try following them, but they just seem to fly around or crawl on the floor. I cant for the life of my understand where they are coming from. And there is only like 1 or 2 flying every 10-20min, not in mass but it does not seem to stop.

I have no idea what else to do, or to find where they are coming from, I tried looking everywhere in the room but there is nothing I can see that would indicate where they come from, and it is a small room, maybe 20m2.

Is it something else I can do to find the nest if there is any, or are these just the one that are now trapped in the room and is surviving.

Was attacked by a hive and now I can barely be outside without freaking out

I was outside with my 2 month old daughter and dogs when one of my dogs dug up a ground nest of wasps. A handful came out and stung us all, it was cold out so not many were active I guess. We are all fine, but looking down and seeing multiple wasps covering me is the most terrifying thing I’ve experienced, and having my daughter with me and her getting stung makes the fear worse. I can’t and won’t think about how bad it could’ve been if it had been warmer… but now I have a visceral reaction anytime I see a wasp outside. I know fear makes it worse and my fear is through the roof. How do I get over this, I don’t even want yo go outside anymore

What triggers a phobia of wasps?

I have been scared of wasps (and bees) my entire life and I have no idea why. My parents were never afraid and were always calm around them, I’ve never been stung by either or any insect at all.

This afternoon I got off my bus home early because there was a wasp on the window next to me, I had to walk and extra 30 minutes and I’d rather walk that long than be even next to a wasp.

Every time I see one I get so paranoid and I even started crying on my walk home, it wasn’t near me anymore because obviously I was off the bus but just the thought of it scared me.

Anytime a wasp is near me I beg in my head for it to leave me alone, it always does but I’m so scared of one day it doesn’t. Like it’s not even funny how unimaginably scared I am of them and no one takes me seriously it’s so frustrating.

I’m trying to find the reason why I’m scared and I really don’t know, how or why I became so scared of them in the first place has always remained a mystery.

I’m asking if anyone knows what it could be, what could’ve caused it, and maybe even personal experiences of why you’re scared or just hate them. Thanks.

How tf do you deal with just seeing wasps?

To start off, I'm autistic, terrified of wasps, and physically flinch when they get too close to me.

Logically, I know 90% of them don't give a flying fuck about me, but I still recoil every time I see one. I've been stung by a Yellowjacket once and twice by bees. Both have reinforced my fear of them.

However, I live on the east coast of the US, and in the south at that. So wasps are inevitable. So, how do I try getting over my fear of them?

Baldy on the Golf Course

Hey Wasp Haters,

Want to share a brief story with you.

Went out golfing at a course in western Wisconsin with my dad. On one of the greens, I noticed a black bug flying towards me out of the corner of my eye. I swatted at it & knocked it down — barehanded.

When I looked down at it, I noticed it was a bald faced hornet — similar to the ones I’ve been SLAUGHTERING outside my workplace all summer.

Perhaps the youngster was looking to get revenge on its fallen brothers. Perhaps I was just in its path. Either way, I stomped it with my spikes to finish it off.

I have a legit phobia of hornets, so I would not have swatted it with my hand if I really knew what it was. I do feel rejuvenated with a new sense of power. One could say, a new tool in the hornet extinction toolbelt.

Thank you for reading.

Fuck hornets.

Should I hate it?

Was getting ready to cut the grass for the final time this season when I saw this thing flying around and now I'm terrified to mow the lawn in case I stumble across a nest of yellow jackets - Something that happened to me earlier this year and I have NO desire to repeat the experience. Is this a yellow jacket/wasp or am I just being paranoid?

My cold war is over. 1 sucka dead.

So, I believe this A-hole good-for-nothing P.O.S. was part of a small gang of wasps that somehow got into my screen door and threatened my household by hanging out in between that and the main door. There were at least 3 of them that got inside (out of about 20ish that we saw) in late August, and despite having no food, they've all survived. We patched up the door to make sure they wouldn't get in, but apparently, they're near-immortal.

So naturally, since I tried to not escalate and let them live outside the big door, one of these dickholes took it upon himself to get through and get onto the window just above the couch, meaning I had to strike. I sprayed him hard with "Hot Shot Wasp and Hornet Killer" which allegedly "KILLS ON CONTACT." Except, guess what? He brushed off the first few sprays (and I hit him dead on) like it was no big deal. Anyway, I basically emptied the clip on him and he's finally dead.

I assume by now, he is letting off his devil pheromones and his buddies are coming to try and kill me. My question is: If it had been away from the next for over a month, and I killed it inside (by spray, not by squishing) would that decrease the chance his fellow gangbangers will come and sting my sheesh? How many do you think are going to penetrate my walls between now and NFL Sunday?

Dead ass wasp releasing pheromones so his buddies can come avenge his death. What other creature calls for revenge from its grave?

You guys I HATE WASPS please help me get revenge

I was minding my own business in my house yesterday just sitting down and a yellowjacket wasp had the AUDACITY to sting my foot. I didn't even see him and I wasn't moving so he just stung me for no good reason. The problem now is that I don't know where this mf went.... Almost certainly still in my house but I can't find it. How do I lure this guy out so I can get my revenge? Any tips on getting a wasp to come out of hiding inside a house?
