We have huge wasps with long legs all over, UGH!!!! We also have yellow jackets, hornets, and bees where we moved to and I want to wear perfume again, does anyone know what I can wear that they will not attract them to me?! I LOVE Happy by Clinique and Pleasures by Estee Lauder, any advice?

Any thoughts on how to get started in studying Hymenoptera?--Or Apocrita?

I have a basic knowledge of insects, I'd say, but I'm trying to do some deep dives for a research project...does anyone have thoughts/resources on how/what can use to get started? Also, things to look into would be lovely, as well.

Anyone has any clue what this is?

So I killed this dude in my villa in Bali ytd, as you can see his stinger/bum thing is yellow, not sure if that’s a wasp/hornet, anyone has any idea? It was huge, about half a finger in length.

Yellow Paper Wasps reacting to bird calls played on phone speaker on YouTube

I've been doing this in conjunction with the very handy BirdNET app on my phone to identify bird species and call them near my home.
However, I have noticed many a times that the yellow wasps in the region react to it and are summoned close. This has fascinated me because they don't make any audible noises which could've been part of the recording. And even in that case, I've tried it with other such recordings as well.

Why does this happen? Any ideas?

I got stung by a wasp for the first time ever yesterday!

I fucking hate them and hope there’s a mass, and painful, extinction of every wasp in the world

Wasp behavior question:

Will wasps “ram into” people who get close to their nests? This isn’t a great picture, but I feel like these guys’ve done this to me more than once, and my contractor friend corroborates this.
