Tire storage

Gas Town and the Bullet Farmer are handy, but drama laden. I don't see an option for buying tires. Stock up on tires and store them away from sunlight and oxygen so they don't degrade.

Maybe bury a cache.

Skip the shopping drama with an electric vehicle and solar panels. Crossbows are also quiet.

Hole in the floor

If your AC dies on a burning planet where the wasps and mosquitos seem to be multiplying, a hole in the floor of your car can bring in air and most insects can't fly up. Your could also drop nails, explosives or scavenged water treatment resin through the opening to fuck up a pursuer's trajectory.

I was talking to Jesus through a hole in the floor

He said our time is up, we can't stay anymore, no more
No more

Buy filters

I'm sitting pretty comfy watching the collapse, working on creating my own Place of Abundance, hoping I can cash in on a financial crash to buy electric transportation and solar panels so we can avoid the dramatic chaos of Gas Town. But all things have a chance of not succeeding.

I have been neglecting the future of our detritivoric engines, in case they are needed. It feels timely to buy oil, oil filters, air and cabin filters for the soon to be relics. New dust (volcanic ash) is not soft.

Garden guardian

As the seasonal weather barometer matches that of politics, it is time to protect the garden. The rain barrel is full. Going to build some kind of adjustable height frame with a strong tightly spaced wire that be placed over the raised beds to protect them from hail. Maybe build some wind guards for the sides of the beds. Beyond that, two to three greenhouses to battle extremes. Probably a Chinese style greenhouse, maybe a walipini, and possibly a traditional one.

Salt

It used to be currency. It can be used to cure and ferment food for storage if you have the luxury of a green place.

Copious amounts of Windex. A clean windshield is godliness.

Maintenance free roofing

If you have a quiet place to chill, install some long-lasting roofing, maybe tin. Inside rain gives the walls a 90's music video feel.

Sustainable heat source

Looking for an efficient woodstove, possibly with a cooking surface. Also Looking for non-petrol wood harvesting tools, such as battery (solar panel) and hand powered saws.

Buy an offgrid clothes washer

With laundry machines lasting 5-8 years, it would be better than rocks at the river.

Learn some advanced first aid and health care

Or add a health care professional to your tribe.

People can't find doctors, I can't see it getting better soon.

Bought a charcoal grill, lawn furniture and kayaks

Might as well enjoy the summers with fuel-less toys.

Buy thermal imaging optics and sweat wicking underpants

In case marauders try to sneak around at night, and as summers get warmer - sweaty cotton tain't no good.

Buy some paper and binders, download some instructions and print them in the event the internet goes down.

Having documents describing how to generate methane and biodiesel might be of value.

Car parts

With supply chains twisting up I should buy front brake pads 'n rotors, front end rebuild kit and some headlight bulbs. Several sets of wiper blades hsve already been acquired. I have 3 sets of wheels and tires, should last until I can start scavenging.

An EV would be simpler.

Relocate

Distant from international borders and an area with low enough population density for wild food sources. Maybe I'll hermit instead of hitting the road.

Food preservation

Canned dog food and non-preserved rodents don't have to be the way.

A pressure cooker can be used for canning rodent protein and lacto-fermentation can preserve plant life.

Solar panels and a battery can run a RV fridge and a vacuum sealer if you're rolling in style.

Eat well on the road, warrior.
