I have a Business account and we use it to share video files with customers.

We will share a private link (password protected) with the download option enabled and the customer can download the original source file we used to create the video on Vimeo (not a Vimeo compression, the original file).

It seems the "original file" download option has quietly disapeared from the download menu a couple of days ago from our videos.

It that a bug or a "new feature" that comes with that new interface?

To clarify, I'm not looking for documentaries on these disciplines. It could be comedy, but I'm looking specifically for Drama.

It States that:

The download URLs provided do not expire. Once your download URLs are out there, anyone who knows the link will be able to download your videos. The only way to stop this is to delete your video from Vimeo.

I really don't understand the reasoning for this anti customer behavior.
Everywhere, where I can create a "sharing link" I can remove it. Regenerate it. Set its duration.
You could say just use their embedded video player and set the access to private, but we just simply do not want to use their terrible embedded video player. E.g. The popovers are just cutoff on the edge of the video player.

Now to circumvent this problem (removing access to given out video URLs) the only thing we can do is to delete the video and lose all analytics data. Otherwise, we would need a proxy which streams the data with a lot of error potential or just use a different video hoster.

I just don't understand why they don't have this dead simple feature which would make everything so easy.. Anyone any idea?

So I’m trying to get my videos, made with Vimeo’s create tool, to show on my profile page. They don’t show up as an option to add even though I have them all marked as public. Couldn’t get it to work so opened a help ticket.

This was their response: “I hope you're having a great day!

I have a video i would like to share with many people and control access. I am able to put a password on the video, but i am wondering if it is possible to put a password associated to the user, if that makes sense?

here is my use case. I want to provide a link for the same video for 3 different people today. however, i might want to revoke access to user1, but keep allowing access for user2 and user3.

Any ideas on how to accomplish this via Vimeo?

i was curious to know what type of company zeus network was, assuming it was an LLC. I googled, went on wikipedia, found nothing. But i did find that it is a subsidiary of vimeo. Now after some research im realizing i cant find anywhere it explicitly says what type of company vimeo is. Pls help i cant rest until i find the answer 😭

I was told Vimeo has a bandwidth max, but I'm not sure how to determine if that would be an issue for me. I was going to use it to host a course that is roughly 70GB. For easy math, let's just say 100GB. Does that mean I could have 20 students watch the entire thing (20 x 100 GB= 2000)? I might be completely misunderstanding how this works. Can someone clarify? I'm building an app and one of it's requirements is to let certain users upload videos that should be consumed by some other users (but as a closed audience, I mean, the videos aren't public for everyone). I was thinking of using Vimeo with it's API, but I have close to no idea if Vimeo is a good choice for this use case.
Users shouldn't log in to Vimeo in order to upload or manage their videos. Everything should be done using the app.

Do you think it's a good idea?

There was an option to pop out the chat window so it was full screen. I've been using this as a method for my presenters to view questions as they come in. This seems to have been removed.

Vimeo has been busy adding a ton of features for every license type. Here's our spring collection of updates along with many smaller improvements that didn't make the announcement. Some of my favorite minor improvements that didn't make the announcement were enhancements to our video editor, video recording has an improved teleprompter, and back end management tools for admins.

As the tile says, the video was removed because of copyrighted material. As an appeal, I've explained the situation, I've sent them the invoice I made and the call sheet for the project.

They've just replied that after careful consideration they'll still remove the video. Annoying especially because I took a reduced fee precisely to have this on my reel and both production company (a very respectable and known one), the label and the director were all in agreement on this as being used as part of my official reel.

They also suggested I just post it mute, or change the music, kind of a silly point with a music video, lip sync, a great song and a fairly known artist.

What can I do? Any chance I can appeal a second time?

since Vimeo has changed plans from storage/week to videos number, I’m risking to spend 10x more to get what I need due to the new current plans.

With the previous plans, the smallest one (Plus) would have been enough for my needs as I have numerous small sized videos, but right now I need to spend 10x to get the new plan that accomodates to what I’m looking for.

Because I need to upload more than 120 videos, I would have to buy the Advanced plan for 65$ a month, which is way too much.

That’s why I’m searching for someone who still has an account with the old plan that is not using it anymore. If you would like to give up to your account or if you know someone that would, I will offer you 50$.

Our Vimeo account has been suspended due to non-payment. We've been trying to reach out to support we haven't heard back yet. We paid the next day and the videos are still down. Do you think it would be possible to get an email for someone? Moreover, we can't even log into our account. It just won't pass us through. Is it possible to get an email for someone? It's been three days and no one is responding.

I've been looking online and Vimeo says there is a 'Filters' component on the panel, but it's not there for me nor do I see any option to apply transition effects to scenes w/in my video I am creating. FWIW I am on the Pro plan.

I am a member of my company's Vimeo account. I want to add a new folder, but there's no option to add them. Vimeo says there's supposed to be a "new folder" button, but it's not there. I can add a new video, but not a folder.

You can see a screenshot below. Should I be looking somewhere else? I'm so baffled.

Can someone provide me with resources to get this down or share a known method or code to do this.
P.S: I am embedding a vimeo video in my carousel and want thumbnail in the lower slider.

I've created a showcase but it seems like the only navigation is search.. I really wish there was an option to add filters, like a filter by tag.

Is this possible in any way, or is there a 3rd party tool that connects to Vimeo and does this?

I was creating sections on my vimeo profile to create some organization and move some things around. I suddenly noticed that 200+ videos disappeared from my profile. They are still uploaded on my account and in the library, but they vanished from my public profile. I had about 1900 videos on my public profile and now I have 1700 (I work for a school).

Is there a way to undo whatever happened? I never clicked delete or anything, just made sections and moved 1 or 2 videos around. Vimeos help bot is useless. HELP! TIA.

A few years ago a friend had a Vimeo account where people could pay for watching a video. It was a simple PayPal setup. Pretty sure it was a $20/month account.

Now another friend wants a similar setup.

Looking at the Vimeo plans, I don't see that option anymore - the VOD section lists " Vimeo On Demand is not currently available to new sellers " and points to the pricey OTT platform.

Am I missing something?

Looking for some help setting up a livestream via studio 6. Our budget cannot afford enterprise, but we can afford to pay someone for a couple hours of troubleshooting. Vimeo doesn’t offer phone support for advanced users, only over email, and they will respond in the middle of the night here to one email.

We are trying to connect two different DJI Osmo to stream into livestream via rtmp.

We have been able to get the rtmp to push to both YouTube and Vimeo, but then cannot get that feed into studio.

The goal is to have both to switch between them.

I could screen share the video from the desktop, but that’s brining in the audio directly.

All the video sources are coming from offsite networks.

Is anyone able to help us troubleshoot?

I am looking at vimeo ott to distribute content as rent/buy but only to a set of limited cast and crew of a show.

So far I haven't been able to work out how to limit my customer base to just my customers that are allowed to access the content.

Everything I publish becomes publically available.

Just wondering if ott has an option to either:

Password protect Only allow customers I add Videos only available if you have the specific URL

I had chosen vimeo as my customer count is low less than 150 but need to limit it to.them for licensing reasons and most cost 100s a month.

I have been putting off changing the privacy on the over 100 videos that we have in our library with that embed code update that was sent. I just realized though that when we embed the videos into Mighty Networks we haven't been using the Embed Codes - we actually use the Share Links.

Does this mean I can do the 3rd option? Do nothing?

I can email help but it is my bosses account and it would be nice to get the answer here if someone knows it.

I am not tech saavy but I think this makes sense.

Dear Vimeo user,

At Vimeo, we are continuously enhancing our security standards to protect the privacy of your videos. In September 2021, we rolled out a security update that made new unlisted video embeds even harder for someone to discover if you haven’t shared the link with them. We are now extending that update to videos that were uploaded before September 2021, and asking users who want enhanced security to update their existing embed codes or change their video privacy settings.

You do not have to opt in to these enhancements, though we encourage you to do so. If you do nothing, we will automatically disable old embed codes on January 21, 2025.

Option 1: Update your video embed codes.

To download your personalized list of affected videos and manually update their embed codes:

1. Sign in to vimeo.com and navigate to Account Settings > Privacy.
2. Look for the ‘Unlisted Link Embed Security’ section of the page. Here, you’ll find a downloadable list of all of your videos impacted by this update. The CSV will contain a link to the video, the video title, and a new embed code for you to use.
3. Copy the new embed code from each affected video listed in the CSV file, and replace it on your sites.
4. Once you’ve updated your embed codes, return to Account Settings > Privacy and toggle-on ‘Enable Retroactive Security Update.’ This will ensure all your new uploads include the privacy hash.

Option 2: Change your video privacy settings from “unlisted” to “password protected.”

For added security, you can change your affected videos to “password protected.” If you choose this option, you will not need to update your embed codes. However, your viewers will require a password to gain access to your videos wherever they are shared online.

Option 3: Do nothing.

Any videos that were uploaded before September 14, 2021 and set to unlisted will no longer be accessible through our embeddable player starting on January 21, 2025.

Hello, I have a vimeo folder that was shared with me (a 'Viewer access' URL link) that has 100's and 100's of clips in it, and there appears to no way to search the clips other than manually scrolling through and loading more and more until I'm able to use the default browser word search? ....Am I missing something, is there no way to search a shared folder? PS. The video's are unlisted so not searchable using Vimeo's normal search bar.
