I've just sent this message to the Vimeo support

Everything started with a friend sending me a link to a video on WhatsApp. I open the link with the android app and want to see the author's profile.

- I can follow him
- I can like its video
- if I try to click on his name/avatar nothing happens. neither on the app, nor on the desktop site.

Then I try with other people I interact with usually, and find that even for them I can no longer access their profile.

So I try searching for these people (who I repeat: I follow, I've liked them dozens of videos and some of them are my video work partners).

From the android app, the search (as I imagine you already know) only works within my videos. To my amazement I find that I cannot even browse “all of Vimeo” anymore. So if I don't have a direct link, I can no longer even see the videos of my work colleagues and friends. Do you understand? CO-WORKERS!!!

Unbelieving I go to the desktop and find that the behavior is the same. with the difference that at least in the search I get a “this page is not available in your region”.

I used to use Vimeo for work but I as an Italian can no longer search for any video and user for my work. I looked like an idiot. A client writes to me about a possible collaboration and I can't see his profile on Vimeo. He sent me the link to his video and now I should write to him to send him the direct link to his profile because I am Italian.

Since the subscription fee does not depend on the country I live in my only option is to unsubscribe.

So… that was it for Vimeo. Anyone has any alternatives for watching high quality videos? Vimeo was my main source for inspiration by finding commercials, branded content, shorts, following DOP’s and directors, etc.

All of a sudden, I can't search for video's on vimeo any more.

It shows 'this page isn't available in your region'.

I can just search for my own library videos.

Also videos from people i follow in my feed are not available on the usual https://vimeo.com/home/feed

anyone else has this problem? what happend to vimeo?

After getting an email telling me that I needed to update my payment methods to include a zip code I decided to pay early since today is the deadline. After doing so I was sent to what looked like a new user screen, and the email confirmation I received was similar. Looking at my account page I now have a 250gb limit instead of 5gb a week.

Also the price went up 5 dollars unannounced.

Overall I guess I'm okay with this, but it seems kinda weird that they would change the terms without prior notification...unless they did and I just missed it.

Was this planned?

We‘re managing the vimeo account for a customer. They‘ve been using channels for a few years now. Suddenly channels are gone and there‘s a message saying „the page is not available in your region“. We can‘t access channels, add videos to channels or manage them. What happened?

Hello everyone I’m using Vimeo to upload lectures to my students and the bandwidth usage right now is 27TB and I haven’t received any emails from Vimeo or whatsoever and I’m afraid of losing these lectures or any future huge bills so will my account be terminated after a certain amount of time or what will happen please let me know

Is there a way to export the chapters with time codes for a video? I'm delivering a video to a client and want to easily be able to give them that info as well.

I hosted several videos on Vimeo for a documentary film project. The videos were embedded on a project website, as well as various websites around the web. Some high profile like PBS, some UN pages, Newsweek, etc. One of the videos was used by last week tonight. It’s important information and project I spent years on, so I would like to get the videos back.

Someone reached out to say the videos were down and sure enough, I logged into my Vimeo and they were deleted. I don’t know when they disappeared. Anyone know what might have happened?

Can I get them back? I’m hoping someone who works at Vimeo (hi IAC building) may see this and help.

I have three videos-two that are over three minutes, and one that is way shorter, like 7 seconds.

The one that is 7 seconds, I have on vimeo right now-no problem.

However, I am at work right now, and pretty sure I'm unable to download any programs/extensions for video editing due to that. Vimeo refuses to accept either a compressed video or the full one, citing that it doesn't meet their compression guidelines.

I could use capcut on my phone, or edit directly from my library, but the buttons are so small i'm having difficulty, and I can't turn my volume down all the way and don't want to bother the other person in my office.

I've been a Business Pro user for a couple of years now and had no problems with my service. However, even though I'm on auto pay, Vimeo didn't charge my card this August.

I logged in to discover I had been bumped to a free account. This is worrisome as I have 35 GB of videos and the free plan only allows for 5 GB. I contacted support and they told me to upgrade back to my old plan. Annoying, since I didn't take myself off auto pay.

But, now, when I try to upgrade, the 'complete purchase' button on the checkout page doesn't work.

I've been emailing support for WEEKS. They keep telling me my issue is resolved, but I'm still on the free plan.

I'm literally trying to give them hundreds of dollars and they refuse to help. I asked if they could send an invoice but they said no.

I'm at the end of my patience here and ready to switch to YouTube. This is ridiculous. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Details: this is not a cookie or browser issue, it's been replicated on multiple browsers on different computers.It seems like there's a problem with their payment system.

I’m a teacher and have created videos in my Vimeo plus account that I hyperlink in my Google slides when I’m presenting lessons on my smartboard. For a while the link would open, but not play the video (black screen, spinning arrow). My workaround was to click “manage video”and play it through there, which worked for a time but no longer does. If I attach my laptop to the screen everything works fine, but it is a pain to tether the laptop when the Smartboard is supposed to do all of this. The IT guy at my school doesn’t know Vimeo or smartboards, and isn’t a classroom teacher… not very helpful. Any suggestions??

I’m trying to use the registration feature on a live event, and I cant add clickable links or hotlinks to the automated emails.

According to the relevant Support article, hot links should be possible, but the link icon is missing from available formatting options.

When I copy/paste a link in full, it is missing when I send a test email.

Any ideas?

Our videographer was hosting our wedding video on Vimeo for a while, but the link is no longer active. Is there any way to recover the video? We don’t have another copy.

i'm trying to embed a vimeo vid to a site but i don't want all the info to show up. I know there's a feature to hide these stuff in the paid version but i can't really afford to keep it for too long, if i need to downgrade back to the free version what ill happen to my embedded videos? will the info in them revert back or it will stay hidden?

I have used vimeo for years but I am very unsatisfied now. I used to make $1000 per month with my Video on demand sales and now it's dropped to $100.

I would like a streaming host that also MARKETS my videos based on the viewers needs. I did like the original vimeo for that very reason. I would post and the money would roll in.

Is there any hosting or other that would make most of their money off of the percentage of the sale of my videos and not off of me paying the compnay. Does such a thing exist?

I've tried this a few times and, as a novice, I've never had much luck customizing the CSS in my portfolios beyond left-justifying the description text field.

Hi! So Ive made the entire transcription using Happy Scribe but when I try to put it on Vimeo nothing shows up.

The file and video sync perfectly on Windows VLC so I dont understand why Vimeo cant read it.

Has anyone had issues like these? Would really appreciate any tips! Thanks
