Trying to get someone to move in as soon as possible! Thank you
To my understanding, you need at least a 3.50 GPA to receive a gold cord for graduation. I am a Spring 2025 graduate and I have a 3.48 GPA as of Fall 2024. I am assuming that even though I am 0.02 points away, I still won't be receiving a cord correct? Maybe they round it? š¤£
Sorry this question is lowkey embarrassing, my family just really cares about seeing me with a cord since to them they see it as an even bigger accomplishment.
Hey! I am taking a crap ton of classes next semester.. does anyone have advice/recommendations for biomechanics, biomaterials, engineering analysis, cell biology and cell biology lab. Like what are some things to look at while I'm on break.. thanks!! I am biomedical engineering major btw
I plan on adding physics II lab to my schedule, any teacher recommendations?
I used to be a student for SAC, I'm gunna try again for a degree. Dealing with SAC's staff for like... anything was like pulling teeth. They would always drag their feet and trying to get ahold of them through email/phone was impossible.
Is UTSA any better or do I need to prep for camping outside the administration offices again?
So I'm a Computer Engineering student and I didn't perform well at all in EE 3423 this semester, and I feel bummed out. I plan on retaking the course next Fall (As part of the 3 Attempt Policy), but I want to study it over this Spring and learn to be better prepared.
For those who passed, do you guys have any suggestions or recommendations to help me get a better understanding and jumpstart on the course before I retake it?
Hello, I have a question regarding the business class 1403 and the test-out option, my counselor gave me the link below.
https://testing.utsa.edu/is-1403/
How exactly does it work? do I complete modules, and at the end of each / at the end of all of them, do I need to take a test at a UTSA testing center? Also, for anyone who has done this, how long did it take to complete the whole process? Thank you ahead of time for any advice.
Was offered $500 for my SAT score but now, I should be getting $4500 with my updated SAT score. Emailed the scholarship hub and got back from them and I will be getting the updated scholarship but the scholarship hub hasn't updated the scholarship yet. Does it just take a minute or do I need to send another email?
I am looking for UTSA students, alumni and faculty interested in helping to create a new registered student organization to advocate for making UTSA a more accessible campus for disabled students, student workers and faculty. If you want to help with the creation of the org or become a member we started a GroupMe. We are in the initial interest and planning phase but hoping to be ready to register the group during this coming Spring semester.
You don't have to be disabled to join, just be extremely passionate about making UTSA better at accommodating disabilities and doing activism to educate the public about disabilities.
The group will be a chapter of a larger non-profit, DREAM (Disability Rights, Education, Activism, Mentoring) so it will have access to resources and support nationally.
If interested in helping to start a DREAM chapter at UTSA, join our GroupMe:
DREAM for Accessibility https://groupme.com/join_group/104956360/T7M8Odtu
Or you can email
Who we need:
If you're interested please email us at dream.utsa@gmail.com with your name, contact info, your background and why you think you'd be a good fit for faculty advisor.
ā¢Undergraduate Students ā¢Graduate Students ā¢Online Only Students ā¢Student Workers (Undergraduate & Graduate) ā¢Faculty ā¢Alumni
Also need students (disabled or not) for the following officer positions:
ā¢Operations Director: Would be the main contact for the org, arrange events and coordinate with events management, reserve space for meetings, tabling and events, keep org registered and delegate any tasks that aren't already outlined in the constitution.
ā¢ Outreach Director: would contact/collab with other student orgs and outside organizations with similar or adjacent goals
ā¢ Finance Director: handles money and keeps records of group finances, help plan fundraisers and donation drives
ā¢ Creative Director: in charge of social media, graphics, photos, flyers, banners & other advertising
ā¢ Engagement Director: organizes tabling, membership recruitment techniques, contacting/following up with prospective members, managing the email newsletter and list of recipients, writing articles on RowdyLink and Paisano about the org. 3. Students, Student Workers, Faculty and Alumni who want to be members of this organization in order to improve the accessibility standards, resources and representation of the disabled community at UTSA. You should have a strong passion for improving accessibility standards, a desire to educate the public about disabilities, advocate for disability rights and mentor incoming disabled students on how to best navigate the UTSA system.
We have a group that's very serious about making this happen. As mentioned before you don't have to be disabled to join but we heavily encourage those that are disabled to participate in order to best advocate for your rights and needs. Those that are not disabled need to know what to fight for, they won't understand how best to serve the disabled community without significant input and direction from the disabled community.
The students that began this project are from a variety of organizations including VOICES, Neurodivergent Society, Secular Student Alliance, Delta Alpha Pi, SOSA, UTSA alumni and many are student workers and graduate assistants interested in making their workplace environment more accessible. We have contacts in Wellbeing Services, Student Accessible Services and Disability Services already working with Neurodivergent Society for accessibility for neurodivergent students but this organization addresses a much broader scope of needs that were not previously represented
I just finished my first semester this fall and all of my grades have been finalized, but on DegreeWorks it's still showing a 0.00 GPA. When does this update since I've completed classes?
Iām taking Raymond Sadeghi for General Chemistry 1, and Iāve been hearing a lot of mixed opinions about him. Does he teach well? How are his homework assignments and exams? When it comes to using iClicker, how does that work in his class? Is it okay to ask him questions and seek help, or is it hard like what other students are saying? Also, how are his final exam and the lab?
I know Iāve asked a lot of questions, but Iām worried because I really want to do well and keep my grade above an A. Iām on the waitlist for Mark Davidson, but I donāt think Iāll get a spot.I cant take Gen chem 1 next fall because I will fail behind so im lost.
I took gen chem 2 and flunked. I donāt really care about a grade replacement, Iām just wondering if I can continue onto the other courses without having to retake it here at UTSA. I plan on retaking it at the Alamo colleges and transferring it over. Has anyone been in the same situation before?
Getting a New Organization Started
If you are interested in starting a new student organization, we provide you a limited opportunity to utilize on-campus facilities to gauge interest prior to completing all registration requirements.Ā You may reserve meeting space on one occasion through Events Management for the sole purpose of having an interest meeting. Ā You will need to notify them that you are reserving space to hold an interest meeting for a potential student organization.Ā
An interest meeting is defined as a meeting to explain the purpose of the organization, identify individuals interested in forming the organization and completing the requirements of registration (i.e. creating a constitution).Ā In addition to having one interest meeting, you may post on campus once (i.e. to advertise the interest meeting).Ā Ā Postings must be approved through Student Activities (see the policies regarding postings).Ā Again, you will need to notify Student Activities that it is a posting for a potential student organization.Ā Ā Ā Ā
Note:Ā These allowances do not apply to single-sex organizations (see definition on page 3 of the Handbook).Ā The procedures for starting a new single-sex organization prohibits any interest groups to operate on campus prior to being invited to expand onto campus (those policies are on page 6 of the Handbook).Ā For more information regarding the expansion process, refer to the policies outlined in the Student Organization Handbook or talk to the Greek Advisor in Student Activities.
Im 12th in line for a cal 2 professor... Anyone know if I have a chance orr?
I just graduated with a masters in communication on Saturday. However, I work at a place where they give me tuition reimbursement, so I technically go to school for free. Therefore, it would be nice to keep going to school for PHD under another persons dime lol My question is: is there a PHD program for Communication? And if there is, how hard is it to get accepted?
Hey Iām transferring from northeast lakeview so I donāt know many people here. Iām reserved most days but itād be nice meeting new people and possibly networking. Any suggestions?
Im currently waitlisted for a business for calculus class but I donāt know if I will get in.
Is Calc 2, Gen Chem I with Lab, and English II too much of a course load over the summer? Iām not sure if thatās too much. Do they offer these in a 10 week timeframe
Hello, Iām in CS and Iām not very good with math and to be honest Iām terrified of Cal 1. What is the best Cal 1 professor that yall know/ any study tips?
i have a few failing grades at UTSA from when I was a reckless 17 year old living on my own for the first time. i was admitted into NVC to raise my gpa but they told me i couldnāt retake the utsa courses there, i would have to retake them at utsa. i thought it was really common to retake courses at NVC. what do i do?
So what happens now? Because my credit from nvc is here now however, retaking the course at utsa I got a D. come spring is my academic institution inclined to put the transfer credit on my paperwork or the failing one?
Edit: I checked my degree works, and it shows the transfer as satisfying, I think i remember vaguely also applying to the course to simply fill up hours for fafsa at one point... so would they replace this score?
So, I will be graduating next semester with my BA from UTSA, I came to university with my associates and with the assumption that I liked what I was doing.
Since I realized too late that I hated my degree I plan on going back to school to get another BA in Psychology. However I have not done the gateway courses which are PSY 1013 and PSY 2073.
My question is do I have to have these complete in order to register for all the other PSY classes, since theyāre technically pre-reqs or can I do them simultaneously/get a special approval from the department or my advisor. I really want to get the degree done asap since I plan on going for a masters.
Sorry for the long post, hope this makes sense, and thanks for reading
hey guys so i need money to help pay for my college and iām looking into getting a loan for school. Can someone recommend a good loan provider. pls i really need to register
So ig i failed calc 2 by 3.5 points? Needed a 67.5 for a C- and i ended up with a 64.2, Is there anything i can do to save myself or am i gonna have to end up retaking it
I have also declined grading for next semester. Great news to anyone looking for additional jobs in engineering and from my post history you should already know what department I'm in.
To answer u/Trick-Possibility843 my last comment was around 2:57 PM Friday, you then commented around 6:22 PM Fri asking if they are my friends followed by 4:35 AM Saturday post asking why I had not responded. Well, I have a life and commitments beyond Reddit on a Friday nights.
I'm not friends with any of my students. What I know about them is what the Professor has shared to me because they have shared things with them during class and office hours. Professor confirmed neither of the two-students asked for a grade bump but he had financial incentive to do so. Serious question here. May I ask if you have a medical degree or are a doctor since you are trying to make assumptions of a random stranger being autistic?
fafsa not covering enough funds
i received the fees that i need to pay and it seems like i only got pell grant and loan of 6,500 but i will have to pay remaining out of pocket (i am assuming so far) which is almost 13k for me and it is next to impossible that i can manage such money. i was aware that if my income is low, fafsa can cover cost of attendance. my question is, UTSA received my application a few days ago and as far i know, school decides on how much aid i should be getting. so in this case what can be done? am i panicking for no reason and school will review and update how much aid i need or is this full and final amount that i will be getting? if yes, then what can i do if i donāt have any income and my school will be starting in a month. please help me out.
