So, MCS 1983 is a massive star - its life is brilliant but aberrantly brief. If I were to look for a homologue in the race of beauty, it would be the fleeting bloom of a cactus flower or the delicate evanescence of nacreous and noctilucent clouds.
There will be a MAT102 FSG session this Monday, November 4 from 3-4pm in MN2260! This week, we will focus on Field axioms, Fermat’s Little Theorem, and simple induction. Feel free to drop by anytime!
Just as a reminder, FSGs are Facilitated Study Groups held by upper year students who have done well in this course. FSGs are here to guide students and encourage them to work with other students in the course, but not to provide answers to any questions.
If you cannot make this session, there will be other sessions every week on Mondays and Thursdays (2-3pm in MN2262) and will focus on the weekly course contents. For more information, visit @rgasc_fsg on Instagram or uoft.me/fsgschedule for the full FSG schedule.
Hope to see you there!

I only got 2 credits instead of 3 credits for this study and I can’t find who to contact about it. It says “Norman Farb” but he has a no reply email 😭 is there anyone else I can email?
I’ve decided to switch from a CS major to a TCS major because I’m more interested in it, and I’m not confident in my ability to achieve CS post. Here are some key points about the TCS program:
Requirements:
Minimum 3.2 CGPA 4.0 credits, including CCT109, 110, and 111 (no CR/NCR courses) Only one round of admission (no summer round)
Important Dates:
Fall course drop date: November 6
I plan to apply for a CS minor later. To get into TCS, I need to maintain a CGPA of around 3.2 as stated on the course website. I’m currently taking 4 courses this semester, including 102, and I’ll be taking 5 courses next semester. Right now, I have a 69 average from the first two tests in 102, and I’m concerned I might perform worse on the next test and the exam.
If I drop 102, it could help me keep my CGPA safe for the TCS application. However, if I do drop it, I won’t be able to drop anything else next semester since I need a minimum of 4.0 credits to apply to TCS. Since there’s no summer round, I can’t apply in June and take summer school.
Another option is to CR/NCR 102. This way, I can see how I perform on the next test and assignments before the exam. If I do better, I can complete the course. If not, I can CR/NCR it. However, this also means I won’t be able to drop any other courses next semester, and I believe I wouldn’t be able to apply for a CS minor since I need a mark in 102.
Do you have any suggestions?
Questions for those who have an accessibility advisor. Do you like yours, have you swapped with another advisor before? Who do you guys think is the better advisor.
Please select the 4th option if you are not a current UTM student.
i need one pretty urgently and i didnt realise the bookstore closed at 6. dm for details and price
For those who successfully obtained a position with the school, did u include a cover letter with your application? Nothing like professor or TA but jobs like custodian or caf worker. Its optional on the site and wanna know if its worth it.
I really struggle with keeping up with all of my subjects together. I was going test to test before reading week, catching up on one subject and allowing the rest to be ignored.
This caused a lot of stress and burnout
Does anyone have good study habits that worked out for them? I really don't know who to ask about this.
How does one study more than one subjects together? I generally get super focused on only one, but this hasn't been good on my mental health at all
I messed up majorly. My mother has travelled from abroad. Please help
Hi everyone!
I’m working on a project for one of my 4th year course to bring an AI chatbot to U of T that could make finding info way easier! The idea is for it to answer common questions from various U of T sites, and maybe even be added to Canvas (Quercus) to help with course info and FAQs. Me and my team will be working with UTM's (and eventually UofT's) IT department to make it work for everyone.
The bot could help with:
I’d love to get your thoughts! Fill out the survey here if you have a few minutes to let us know what features would actually be helpful.
Thanks so much!
To major stats it says I need sta107 and mat134 completed. But below that on the website it says the courses I need to complete first year: csc108, mat102, mat134 and 135, mat223. I’m not enrolled mat223, do I actually need it? If so, can I take it in the summer or second year since I don’t have it now?
I just got back my wdr petition for a winter 2024 course saying it was denied and it said insufficient evidence. I had attached all of the VOI forms that I had received throughout the year (6 of them) and my petition got. I have upper year friends who have done this before and they said that they only submitted maybe 1 or 2 VOI's and theirs got accepted. Would my verification of illness forms not be enough, as I was sick and going through it throughout the whole semester and I really couldn't finish the course properly. Are the VOI forms I got throughout the winter semester not sufficient enough evidence? Should I petition? I am lost and confused and need a bit of advice, I really need this to go through😢

I have a job interview coming up and they asked for a letter from the registrars office for proof that I actually go to this uni, but since it’s the reading week is there a way I can contact them via email?
I’m asking this question for an assignment, and I want more vast opinions. So with that being said, as the title explains, which UTM club do you think makes the best promotional content (Reels, Posts, Stories, etc)?
Men’s hockey game Saturday November 2, 7 pm at varsity arena. There’s a large number of students that are attending. Fill up section K in the arena!
I am a secound year life science at utm and my GPA is a 2.7 (not the greatest but I'm working on it). I want to transfer to St.G campus beacuse it's closer to my home. How do I start the process and is it even possible to transfer? Does the transfer look at this semester CGpa or final secound year GPA?
Any help is appreciated
I mean overall cGPA, not just for a single course^
Hi guys, I wanted to ask if anyone has taken ERS201 in the past & has their lab reports can you please reach out to me. I really wanna get a 4.0 in this course so I need your help. ( plus if you took it with David Summer would be a +++++)
Hello I need to select a history course for the winter semester. I am a first year student. I took HIS213 and found it rather tough. How does this course compare to the one I am taking right now? (If anyone knows) Should I go for a 100 level course? One 100 level course is of a prof with some negative reviews on rate my prof so I'm steering clear of that. Of course, I am new to all this, so I don't know exactly how serious to take rate my prof in the first place. My gut feeling tells me What is Canada? should be okay. However my mind is like, I probably shouldn't take another second year course again. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you
Hi, I'm a first year student and I need to defer my final exam. I've talked to an advisor but they have not been any help and I need to defer the exam really soon. Can anyone tell me how I would do this? I'm aware there is an online petition form but none of the options say anything about deferring an exam in advance, rather if you have already missed it. The whole system is confusing me so much so if you could tell me anything it would be very much appreciated.
Can i crc ISP100? I will oass, but my mark in the class is not great, im worried it will bring down my cgpa
I need to take physics but couldnt make it work in my winter or fall semester schedual so i plan to take it over summer. If i take both physics 136 and 137 over summer will I be able to pass both? Or do you need to take them one after the other?
I already paid my first year tuition, fall and winter courses. I recently dropped all my winter courses. I believe we can still get a 100 percent refund for winter courses? Dropped the courses, but still nothing has changed on the acorn, and I want to know what are the steps for getting refund.
