For anyone interested in any of these sections, now might be the perfect time.
It appears we're on the market for a new keeper.
Everyone is complaining about the prices and that brings me to attendance. I don't see how more people are going to show up. Don't get me wrong I like watching The Roots but this is USL Soccer. I lived in Seattle for a while and the Sounders have $8-20 tickets all the time and they're one of the best MLS franchises and play in a nice stadium. Oh and parking is probably not going to be free like it was at East Bay.
I'll probably be looking on Stubhub or whatever but I don't even think there will be that many resells especially for cheaper. If people are paying that price why would they resell it for cheaper at a loss? I hope The Roots front office gets it's shit together and realizes they're trying to get more money than they can get. The Ballers lowered the prices as the season went on and the Roots better follow that. I'm not paying over $30 to see this lol.
Apologies if this is old news, but I just got a club email that linked to ticket prices (trying to sell season tix deposits). This is bad, bad, and worse.
CSUEB Mosaic Plus was, what, $35-40 to sit all the way down in front, just across the track from the field?
Now they want $53 for similar but further from the pitch, and $44 for sideline upper deck? Cheapest seats are the $28 Unity section, which look to be pretty bad seats?
I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think jacking the prices up by 20% and more is gonna pan out very well for the club :(
They REALLY need some dirt cheap options - like $10 seats - to fill these seats. There's demand for footie, and there's demand for Oakland pro sports, but the squad is nowhere near good enough to command these prices at scale.
To anybody who is super close to the SG groups, what’s the deal now. If Glinton starts winning will you show up? Will you all be gone until 2026 regardless? Or does everything hinge on Glinton and co being send out?
STATEMENT: "Gavin stepped in midseason and provided the stability and vision we needed to secure a return to the playoffs"
REALITY: Gavin limped into the playoffs, including the team giving up five goals on four separate occasions and having the second worst goal difference in all of the USL.
STATEMENT: "Qualifying for the playoffs for a third year out of our four years in the USL Championship, including big wins over some of the leagues top teams, showed Gavin's leadership"
REALITY: The Roots lost to some of the worst teams in the league including Birmingham (0-5, 9th in the East), Hartford (0-2, 10th in the East), San Antonio FC (9th in the West), FC Tulsa (10th in the West), Monterey Bay (11th in the West)
Disappointing move.
Edit: spelling
Well adios Roots SG. See you 2026
What changes do we need to see for the 2025 season? I love the roots but I feel like this season lacked a spark almost the entire year.
What changes would you want to see in transfers in/out, management, etc.?
Hello everyone. New to the community and to the club this year. I invested in this year’s CIR from the east coast and am so amped by the Roots’ culture! I can’t wait for next season.
As I don’t know all of the dynamics involved I am genuinely curious as to whether “more experienced” Roots fans feel the club should go after Mark Briggs, and would the hire would please them if it were to happen.
From afar and being new to the scene I think it would be worth exploring but I’d be happy to learn if there would be hesitation from the fan base.
This is my first post. Wanted to say I’m really excited to see the Roots next season in the Coliseum!! It’s going to be special playing there. I live in SF so if anyone ever wants to carpool or take the BART together let me know!
After being a Quakes fan for many years I had enough of John Fisher’s lack of spending and decided to start supporting Oakland Roots. I even became a minority owner of the team during the Community Investment Round. Even with the lack of success this season I feel more a sense of community at Roots games. I’ve brought numerous friends, family, and coworkers who used to go to Quakes games and they all are now converted Roots fans! Even a few members from Faultline gave up on the Quakes and made the switch.
After the travesty of the election and seeing the Quakes hire Bruce Arena (who never was cleared of his scandal) I know I made the right choice. A total disregard for an inclusive environment at the stadium. From my first Roots game I knew all were welcome, even myself with my peculiarities!
Hope everyone has a wonderful offseason and looking forward to making some noise for the Roots in the Coliseum!
I remember seeing on the Roots IG story a few weeks back that they would be participating in some offseason tournament. Any idea what it is?
Listless.
Feel free to add your own.
30 min to kickoff
Lineups are out, praying it goes well. Hope everyone shows up over at the Athletic Club just in case it’s the last time we are all together in the year.

How y’all feel about Sac getting eliminated in the first game of playoffs.
On one hand it’s so big because Sac are evil and not as cool as us.
On the other I really wanted a rivalry playoff game with them.
In a previous comment to a post, I stated that Glinton consistently talks about the need for a stronger culture in his post-game comments. I wanted to come with receipts and look at Glinton's quotes.
In sports, accountability from the top-down stands as a fundamental aspect of success. Coaches with a vision shape and uphold that culture. However, coaches can just as easily undermine or destroy a culture. As reflected in his quotes, Glinton demonstrated an uncanny ability to divert blame for the recent skid from himself to the players and their lack of commitment, aggression, and grit. His comments over the past two months reveal a lack of ownership in his role and vision that effectively undermine the very "culture" he is trying to build:
Successful programs require strong, accountable leadership. Look no further to Las Vegas to see the impact a coach with a vision can have on a team. The cognitive dissonance displayed by Glinton when he blames the culture for losses while failing to see how he ultimately stands responsible for creating a culture of, in his own words, "fight, commitment, and heart" is wild. The lack of urgency and expectation in calling a loss "acceptable" furthers this complacent culture. These actions should be the final nails in the coffin of Glinton's time as coach. Hopefully, he retains a role on staff or with Project 51O. As the Roots head to a critical period in their development in the upcoming years, they need and fans deserve someone that understands their role in the formation and establishment of a winning culture.
